The Dragon King

Chapter 1: The King

The King is a well known leader of the Rye empire, he lived in the biggest castle that anyone had ever seen ,no one could compare to the highest of power throughout the empire. However even though he was merely a king his power changed him to a god among peasants. All his success and rule came from the sorrow of others .Often times red flooded throughout the streets in order to honor his great power. He stood in his red robe as his eyes wandered on the picture of his family. He was getting old and needed someone to take control of his greatness. His oldest son Nulse may have a shot at becoming as great as he is but could abuse power. His eyes wandered a little more, to his youngest son who had just turned ten and to his wife who was and will always be useless to him. Finally he found himself in the painting ,his black beard his devilish gray eyes ,all that remained the same except he had grey strands of hair growing on his chin and eyes that turned a shade of brown. He touched his crown as it was always on his head, this made it so zig-zag marks appeared on his forehead. Light footsteps echoed throughout the corridor as a boy revealed himself in the poorly lit hallway “Father” the boy said nervously “dinner is ready”. The boy talked to his father but always seem to talk to the ground as his eyes inched up to try and look at even a strand of hair his father had on his chin. The King’s eyes remained at the picture as he was trying to figure out who was talking to him “ Alright Keu I shall be down there before the heat lets go of the chicken”. The skinny boy then walked off dragging his feet across the ground as he began to make a undesirable sound with the wood and his skin. His red clothing was sagging off of every step he took, and his black hair remained untreated for days.

Chapter 2: Dine and Dinner

The king arrived at the dining room escorted by his guards, the scent of baked vegetables and roasted chicken floundered the room as he took a big inhale of air up his nostrils. The dining room was a average room the king had which took up six normal sized houses, the table was unnecessarily large, fit for 36 people to dine but usually had only four, well almost four. Keu and the king’s wife Cetana stood standing, no one may sit or eat until the king has the first taste. The king sat on his chair and observed the food brought out to him, there was chicken, rice, baked carrots with spinach, bread, steak and roasted pork salad. The belly of Keu started to grumble     “Who made this” the king demanded, a whimper from Cetana followed up “I did”, even though the king was the most powerful he was weary about spending precious money on useless people making his food. He then took a chicken leg and took a bite out of it, Keu and Cetana sat down as the king stuffed his face with food. The king then filled his plate with pieces of pork and steak, his fork then when to the back to the serving dish of the chicken ,he took a big bite out of the second leg and placed it back on the dish. The king’s cheeks widened as more food was stuffed in there “NULSE!” the king yelled as pieces of rice and spit spread across Keu’s face and plate. Keu took a napkin wiping the rice off his face “where is Nulse woman?” the king questioned “I” she quivered “I… I don’t know” the king then swallowed the food “guard” the king asked as a escort came “find this boy RIGHT NOW!”.  Splush splash, a sound came from the entrance of the dining room as a guard held Nulse’s shoulder. Nulse could have easily taken down the guard as he was almost taller than him. Nulse then shrugged his shoulder away from the grasp ,as everyone turned to him the king began to talk as silence grew “Nulse look outside right now, is the sun’s light anywhere!” the king exclaimed. Nulse then had a blank face as the king yelled at him some more “When I say by sun down we eat we eat at sundown ,WHY CAN’T YOU UNDERSTAND!?”. Nulse was covered in mud for a odd reason and this displeased the king even more “ WHY ARE YOU WALKING IN MY CASTLE WITH CRAP ON YOUR BODY!”  the king boomed ,Nulse then shrugged his shoulders now smiling at the king’s frustration. The king hated Nulse's attitude “ You may be smiling now but you won't be smiling after you wait for the whole empire to finish dinner, after everyone licks the crumbs off their plate or bowl  then you may eat what is left over”. After the The king’s yelling there was  a silence to which only a mouse considered too quiet ,Nulse then made a sound with his mouth “Pishhh” this made everyone within earshot nervous for how many seconds longer Nulse was going to live. The king’s eyes then started to change as they went from brown to a incredible shade of red. Nulse ignored this and went on “You think you can stop me, father I'm four years away from being twice Keu’s age” this fact calmed the king down has he knew Nulse was the empire's only hope of rule with power, but how much power is too much.The king then spoke “get cleaned Nulse” then Nulse smirked leaving the room as General Erdyo rushed into the room catching his breath after every word “K...King a message from the Iringate” he said as his stomach jiggled back and forth. The king then got up out of his seat barely touching anything he put for himself and leaving the bitten up pieces on the table “finish the food so nothing waste” he said as he left the room with the general and ordered all the guards to join him. Five seconds after the king left Nulse came back into the room with the same clothes and smell he left in. Splush splash the sound came from the end of the table as Nulse sat in his father's chair, he grabbed a loaf of bread off of Keu’s hand and took a bite off it. Cetana then cracked  “hey, your suppose to be cle…” She didn’t finish her sentence as Nulse spit a wet piece of bread at her face. Keu then got up fist tightened Nulse then laughed “sit down” he chuckled Keu knew Nulse had more strength and more power than him so he sat down angry knowing he could not stop him. Nulse took a piece of steak and popped it into his mouth open mouth chewing “euh” he wined then spit out the food wherever. Nulse then had a face of disapproval “did you make this Cetana, because it’s repulsing” Cetana looked at her food in silence then Nulse left leaving a trail of mud out of the room. Keu and Cetana sat in silence as neither of them ate their food.

Chapter 3: Wooden scars

The next morning Keu was drag out of bed as he woke up in another room, it seemed that Keu was so sleepy that he didn't even feel someone take him out of his own room. As Keu struggled to get up as his blanket was oddly wrapped around him. He looked around the room he barely visited, swords hung and gear lay on the ground “this is the sparring room” he said to himself ,and in front of him is Nulse. Nulse then threw a wooden sword at Keu’s direction “Get up and get ready” he said arrogantly. Keu kicked his way out of the blanket and got up. He was about to run out of the room but Nulse’s body moved so his back faced the door blocking the only entance and exit. Keu then grabbed the sword ,his legs stood in an awkward position as he knew Nulse sometimes brought him here to beat him up. Nulse then rushed at Keu swinging his metal sword at Keu’s wooden one, after a few swings Keu dropped the grip on his sword. Nulse swung at it again and the wooden sword flew out of Keu's hand like a bullet . Keu stood hoping Nulse doesn't go too far beating him “if you can't face against me” Nulse started “ THEN YOU DESERVE TO DIE”. Keu started shivering and crawled up into a ball as Nulse aimed his sword toward Keu's head, tears started to drop out of Keu's face. A laughter was heard as Keu pulled his head up to see Nulse laughing at the sight of his fear “y...haha you thought I was going to kill youououho” Nulse said as chuckes overwhelmed his speech. Nulse's face then changed from happy to angry as his foot fung across Keu's face, The kick was so hard that it pushed Keu a feet away from Nulse, he was lying on the ground trying to realize the pain that nested on his cheek. As Keu tried to get up Nulse put his knee on Keu's chest and rested half his bodyweight on top of him stopping him from getting up. Keu started to scream but could not because as he started Nulse’s fist was logged in his mouth. Nulse then whispered to him “you listen to me now, follow everything I say anything I say you follow ,no question”. Nulse then raised his voice as Keu tried to speak louder “and if you don't” Nulse continued, Nulse placed the base the metal sword on top of Keu's nose Keu then was silent staring at the sword. His heart started pounding and his breathing increased.  Nulse turned the sword to the sharp end and slid it horizontally as blood spilled onto the sword and Keu's eyelid. Keu suddenly screamed his muffled noise as he struggled “don't talk and if someone ask you about this you fell” Nulse said ,Nulse then pulled his fist out of the mouth as saliva ran down his knuckles. Nulse then walked out of the sparring room uncaring about what he had just done. Later that day a maid called down the family as the castle cooks had prepared lunch. Cetana arrived first and stood behind her chair next to her husband waiting like a good woman, next came Keu now with a scar on his nose that flattened to his bone. Keu stood next to his mother until Nulse came into the room and confronted Keu “hey, take another chair I will be sitting next to mother”. Keu hesitated until Nulse's body came in contact with his which was two times the size he was. Keu moved next to his father’s chair which riddled with mud but the trail was gone “I supposed the maids cleaned it up but forgot his chair”. Guards rushed into the room as the king arrived into the dining room he pulled back his chair as Keu hoped he would notice that the red that once covered his chair was now brown. The king however was looking at the food and sat down as a squishing sound increased with the more his bottom sank down in the chair. The king then got up and looked at the print that he had made with the mud “WHAT IS THIS!” he screamed as the stain spoiled his robe appearing it to be that he had crapped himself. Nulse held in a laugh”mhmhmhmha” as everyone else was silent, “who...did...this” the king spoke as he was choking on his own anger “NULSE DID YOU DO THIS!” Nulse then turned his head toward Keu. The king waited for an answer, Nulse then pointed to Keu “Keu did it” Nulse uttered then smirking “ I tried to tell him no but he wouldn't stop”. Nulse’s face grinned as he continued       “when I was just trying to clean up he took a chunk of mud off me and thought it was funny to make it appear as if you have a bowel problem”. Keu had a decision to make if he told his father it was a lie Nulse was going to beat him and if he didn’t his father was going to deal with him, possibly kill him. The king's eyes went from his brown to a red and skin then adjusted itself into scales, he then leaped from the end of the table to where Keu stood. His hand then grabbed Keu by the throat choking him and lifting him off the ground face to face “you are not a man, you are nearly a boy who won't ever be called as the king”. Keu ignored what was being said to him as he hoped his father finished up his statement so he could breathe normally. Smoke came out of the king's mouth as this made Keu’s torture even worse than what it already was. The king finished his statement then flung Keu to the other side of the table. The king then grabbed Nulse by the shirt and began to blow smoke in his face, this irritated  him. Nulse then blew a fountain of smoke onto the king's face choking him in the ash cloud. This made the king fully angry as he was about to show everyone in the castle who he is. The scales grew thicker while turning darker, his face became longer, a tail flung out, the king's pants ripped and wings shredded his robe as he grew larger. This was it this is what made him king this is what power he had, he was a dragon. He turned to Nulse as he spewed fire around him, Nulse didn't know what to do as he only could use smoke not fire so he stayed where he was. The king then started to sweep everything off the table, his voice deepened as he spoke “ If anyone else has anything to sa…” General Erdyo came rushing into the room sweat running down his face breathing intensely unable to even get past the doorway. The king then calmed down as business was always intended when Erdyo ran, “what is it” the king demanded. The General struggled to get the words out firstly because he ran almost 20 yards “ the…the Iringate king came.. euh...here to see you” the king then rushed out of the room as guards followed. The king quickly was given another robe to change in as he knew the clothes were going to be ruined.

Chapter 4: The man from the Irin

Nulse ran after the king never seeing him this quick for most things and Keu then got up and followed him leaving Cetana in the dining room still standing by her chair. The king hurried with his men to to entrance of the castle which barely is open. The doors to the castle lay colossal size ,even a giant might say it is big, the doors were so heavy it took ten men to open one door. On the other side of the door was a man surrounded by the king's guards. Nulse and Keu arrived to see this bearded man who looked similar to their father. Then a guard stood next to them “wait here” the guard said as he positioned a sword blocking them from interfering. The mysterious man wore the emblem of the Iringate on his robe as the weird colors of gray and yellow flashed from it. The man then spoke pleading to the king “You have to help me, no one will survive when the raiders come” the man then got down on his knees and bowed. The king then looked displeased as if a toxic smell came his way “you should have bowed in the beginning” the king remarked as he kicked the face of the man. The man then toppled down the stairs in front of the castle as the king followed him down. The king then grabbed the man by his rope-like beard just as he was about to fall another stair. The king then brought the man closer to his face the king’s breath smelled of smoke as he began to talk. “Why should I help someone as low as you” the king began, the man then tried to gasp for air for the king’s breath was too smokey. The man then strained for air as he spoke “because...we...share the same father”. The king's grip got tighter as the man’s words offended him “do you really think we are brothers. If you are in the middle of the sea and I'm on a boat and I see you swimming for your life you shall not even see my face before you inevitably drown”. The king's eyes started to change as scales carved his skin and they turned black he started to grow bigger ripping off his robe and extending his spiked wings out of his back. The king swung his tail as he was now a dragon. The king then let out a booming roar “RAAAAUUUGGGGHHH”,the man then had enough as he started to change but the king saw this starting to happen. The king's huge tail then swung at the man throwing him down more stairs and knocking him out. The king then grabbed the man extended his wings and flew, he went east toward the Iringate empire. The man lay motionless as if he was a rag doll in the king's scaly hands, they arrived at the center of the empire where the iron castle lay. The iron castle was coated in iron from the towers to the basement. Iringate soldiers grabbed their swords and shields  as they were getting ready for battle, large groups of soldiers assembled in front of the castle and archers aim at the dragon from the iron arches with their arrows. The king got excited as all these people can witness his power and their doom “Is that the Rye empire king with the king in his hand” a soldier yelled from the crowd. The king then held up the man ,he then took a deep inhale flushing air into his nose and filling his cheeks. Then the king blew out a fireball that was twice the size of himself, the fire ball headed toward the iron castle. The heat made the coating of iron start to drip, archers and soldiers soon got covered in the hot iron as the whole castle started to fall. Most of the soldiers started to scream as they were being burned alive by the melted iron and those that didn't scream were already dead. A quarter of the castle stood like a almost melted ice cream, a big hole lead to a still standing throne. The king then threw the unconscious man’s body at the throne ,the impact was so great it broke the throne and the iron behind it  leaving a dark hole where it should have been. The king wasn't finished he then streamed fire from his mouth onto the streets and buildings. Fire and smoke spread throughout the Iringate as the king started to topple down towers letting his anger explode. The king then flew around the whole empire not satisfied until he  burned everything in sight. Soldiers tried to shoot arrows at the dragon but the scales were too tough, the king let a blaze to the soldiers and other men that tried to flee. As soon as the whole empire was in a blaze the king headed back to his castle. The king returned to his empire leaving soldiers trapped in the sweltering iron.The king then turned back into a human as guards put on his clothes. He then talked to General Erdyo “Send soldiers to the Iringate make sure there are no survivors” The king then pointed to the sword that the general had in his holster “we are not taking prisoners”. He then went inside the castle hall where Keu and Nulse stood waiting for him. The king's eyes then opened widely as he spoke “You, two” he said articulating every syllable “don't you ever talk to that man or even speak of him”. He then pointed to Nulse “you hate him” he stated ,then pointed at Keu “and you hate him”. A guard then came over and started whispering in the king's ear, the king then smiled at this information, Keu and Nulse never saw the king smile unless he was beating someone up. The king then pushed both of their heads back signaling them to leave.

Chapter 5: Shadows in the moon

That night Keu tossed and turned on his bed which his feet hanged. He kept the same bed that his brother use to have when he was a toddler. Keu's eyes opened and he knew he would not be sleeping tonight he overheard a giggling sound  that echoed throughout the hallway. Keu then opened his door and started walking toward the sound. He got to the end of the hallway and peeked over to the huge entrance doors that were in fact open. The only light that showed through the door was the shining moon. Two shadows showed on the stairs of the castle and the giggles began again. The two shadows then kissed as one of the shadows talked a familiar voice. One of the shadows had long hair so it could be a woman ,and she was holding something tightly. The other had a beard in which some strands glistened with the moonlight. “Is that mother?” Keu thought. Then the thing that she was holding erected a small hand toward one of the shadows and started gurgling . “No it can’t be mother has short hair” Keu thought, the thing that she was holding then kicked up both of its feet and started laughing as the two shadows did “is that a baby?” Keu thought.The shadow with the beard then headed back inside the castle not before kissing the baby on his forehead and whispering something to it and then kissing the woman. As the woman in the dark  she moved the baby's hand gesturing a wave good bye. Guards then showed up from left to right as their metallic armor easily spotted them out. The guards then started pushing on the door closing it making a loud creaking sound ,the bearded shadow unlit torch in hand exhaled fire. The fire then lit the torch revealing the king's mischievous face. Keu backed away almost stumbling over his own feet and ran quietly into his bed making a water drop sound after every step as he only used the ball of his foot to run. What had shocked Keu most though was that this was the only time his father without his crown. Keu then rushed to cover himself and laid in his bed heart pounding, slowly descending into a light sleep. A hand then touched Keu's head “is it father?” Keu thought “did he see me?”. Keu then awoke to see his mother sitting by him on the bed. “Hey ,Cetana what are you doing here?” Keu said peeking his eyes at the moonlight that hit his mother's face. Keu knew that the shadow wasn't mother and hoped she didn't see that woman. She then sighed Keu tried to change the awkwardness with a question “mother, why does father wear that crown all the time?”. She smiled for it was the first time she smiled before Keu was born. “You see” she said “That crown is a one of a kind, your father’s grandfather made those crowns. The crowns are made to enhance the devilish power that your family has like Uncle Fozin .If you ever become king you won't need to wear that crown.” Keu turned over so head faced the door. “But how does it enhance the power” Keu asked his mother then got up and stared at Keu “why don’t you ask your great grandfather” she said jokingly, she smiled again and left the dark room. Keu liked his mother being company but didn't enjoy jokes.

Chapter 6: The Green bandana

Keu opened his eyes as his body was on the floor. The sheet that covered him wrapped around him like a cocoon and he was struggling to get out. He noticed most of the castle staff in his room spread out on different spots sleeping. Their natural smells collided in the small room making it hard to decipher what he was smelling. When he got out of the cocoon he walked to his drawer for some clothes avoiding stepping on anybody, he started putting on the traditional wear of the Rye castle as he noticed it was smelling. This didn't mind Keu, he then looked around his ironically small room for some jewelry. He dug deep under his bed until his fingers touched cloth, he then pulled the cloth back. Once he did dust stuck to his sleeve . He pushed the dust away to let the red of his sleeve shine. The cloth resinated a dark green and was in fact a bandana that his Uncle Fozin had given to him. Keu remembered the fun games that they had, how they used to play and how he would always smile and laugh with him. Even turning Nulse to a nice person for that amount of time he stayed until he left the empire. Before he left  he moved his crown to take off the bandana that was on his head and gave it to Keu. Fozin then took off on his carriage until he was struck by a bolder leaving the empire, a tear ran down Keu's face but he was smiling at the thought of his cheerful uncle. Even though the bandana wasn't the empires colors he put it on and walked out of the room not trying to hit any of the staff with his toes. The hallway was surprisingly quiet as Keu thought his father had already woken up. No guards were in sight as Keu walked further into the hallway, his footsteps made the loudest sound that was there. A hand then grabbed his shoulder Keu spun around to see who it was but smoke was shot at his face blinding his eyes. He then was pushed to the ground, he then rubbed his eyes trying to regain his vision. “Hahahaha” a voice laughed “you’re so STUPID”. Keu got up opening one eye to see Nulse chuckling at him, Nulse stopped and said “come on, let's play a game”. Nulse then walked past Keu as he signaled with his hand to follow. Keu walked with him still trying to wipe the ash from his face. They walked into a room that had a big door blocking it. Nulse however pushed the door slightly that he could barely fit but Keu followed fitting in perfectly into the small opening. In the room torches lead up to a throne, the king's throne. The king's throne was on top of 10 flights of stairs “ok, so we are going to play a game called ‘hide and go seek’” Nulse said with excitement. Keu didn't know how to play but Nulse didn't care “ok” he said “you hide while I count here and try to find you”. Keu looked around for places to hide and the room only consisted of a throne and stairs, Nulse turned around and started counting down from ten. Keu rushed up the stairs to the throne and hid behind it “five, four, thr…”. Nulse voice disappeared but Keu knew he was going to scare him so he stayed behind the throne. A creak was heard from the door, footsteps climbed up the stairs. Metal was rubbing on metal and deep voices made Keu panic. The voices started getting closer then stopped, Keu felt the presence of men as he stood quiet holding his breath. A hand then grabbed Keu it was Nulse. Alongside Nulse was the king and a few guards “see he's here trying to take your throne” Nulse said. The king's eyes opened as his lips tightened. The king took the boy from Nulse’s grasp “ YOU THINK YOU CAN SIT ON THIS THRONE” The king screamed. The king then rolled up a fist then he punched Keu's belly, Keu blew out air as his eyes watered with pain. The king then took a glace at Keu's bandana as those were not the empires colors. Keu tried to regain his breath but was then thrown from the top of the stairs. He was  rolling down the stairs every other stair hitting him as he went faster until he landed hard on the final stair and kept rolling stopping at the door. Nulse leaped from where the guards stood to the door landing hard, he then kicked Keu in the face. Nulse then took a breath and blew out hot ash at Keu making a cloud of smoke around him. Nulse then snatched the bandana off of Keu and ran out of the door. When the smoke cleared up the king walked down the stairs to Keu “NULSE” the king shouted Nulse walked back into the room as Keu was in fetal position. The king then spoke sounding out each syllable “tomorrow you two” he annonced spitting  “shall go to your grandparents” Nulse then sighed. The king then yelled eyes wide  opened at Nulse “IS THERE A PROBLEM HERE” Nulse then frowned then whined “no”. The king then looked at him “Alright so get ready ,CHOP CHOP” the king boomed, Nulse  then walked out “whoa!” the king announced “take your brother with you”. Nulse then walked back in and grabbed Keu by the neck picking him off the floor, Keu's head was down as he almost broke out crying but kept it in. The king then lifted Keu's head to see him holding in the tears, Nulse then shoved Keu forward out of the room still keeping his hard grasp. His mouth was on Keu’s ear his teeth tightened he screamed “This is all YOUR FAULT” he then let go pushing Keu dropping him on the floor and walked away leaving Keu crying.

Chapter 7: The Dragon ignites

The morning then arrived as the king's voice boomed throughout the castle this woke Keu from a deep sleep. Keu struggled to open his eyes as his body moved from the bed to the ground. The king waited for his two sons outside at the castle gates with a horse and carriage. Nulse started stuffing clothes into his box as Keu walked past his room already set and dressed. Keu then carefully walked down the outside stairs as the box he was carrying was bigger than him. Keu then threw his box onto the carriage as he waited for his brother. It's seemed like hours passed when his brother finally showed up. He pushed Keu’s box over so it was a push away from falling off. He got into the carriage and put his legs on the seat so Keu was pushed to the corner. The king then signaled the horse to leave has he didn't say goodbye. Keu then looked back for his mother but he hasn't seen her since the other night and she didn't come to see him leave. Keu looked at Nulse to see green cloth inside his jacket pocket. The horse reached the town outside of the castle as some people cheered on for safe travel and others gave dirty looks and cursed at them and their family. Nulse then got annoyed as he poked his head from the carriage and made his eyes turn red. People then started backing away from the carriage and into their homes as those eyes frightened ordinary souls. The two brothers went through the entrance of the empire . The sign read Rye empire and soldiers guarded from the main entrance to the mountains. Time passed as the horse traveled into the desert ,Nulse’s face turned ugly as he grabbed Keu by the shirt and brought him closer to his face. Nulse’s voice turned wicked “THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT” ,Keu was surprised by the grab to then see Nulse’s eyes turn red. “ WHY” he then continued “THIS IS BECAUSE OF THE YOU THAT HE IS SENDING US ME WITH YOU. YOUR MESS CAUSED ME TO GO WITH YOU. YOU’RE A MISTAKE” , Nulse then spit in Keu's face and punched him in the face pushing him back into the corner. Keu then squeezed his fist and grinded his teeth as anger flowed into his brain. His anger reached but there was a point where if he could flow it there he could unleash it. Keu didn't know what this feeling was but he soon thought of all bad that his brother did and his fist got tighter. Then he touched his nose in which Nulse scared and then all these thoughts made his brain explode as anger flowed throughout his entire body. His eyes turned a dark blue as scales erupted from his skin and turned black. Keu’s body then expanded has he got bigger and bigger ripping his clothes and unleashing his power. Half of the carriage blew out to make space for Keu's colossal transformation. Horns started to grow out of his head as his brother nor his father had horns. Wings grew from his back ,as he stretched them out Nulse looked at Keu in shock then turned into a dragon. Keu towered over Nulse but Nulse had more control over his transformation. Nulse then flew up and started slashing Keu's face. This wasn't for long as Keu grabbed Nulse by the throat and didn’t think but to bite down on his neck. He bit down hard and Nulse started screaming “AAAAHHH”.  Nulse slashed and wiggled but couldn't get out of the grip. Nulse started crying for help and pleading Keu to stop. The screaming didn't make Keu stop biting he ignored his brothers pleds and kept his now sharp teeth on the neck until the screaming stopped. Keu opened his mouth as blood rushed down his chin and dropped Nulse’s body with bloody bite marks running down his neck. Nulse then turned back into a human naked on the sand not moving. Keu then looked down at his brother and his vision started to blur. He then fell to the ground and turned back to normal size.  Sand brushed in his face as a blurry shadow approached his direction, the sun beamed down on him torching his skin until darkness filled his vision.

Chapter 8: Breath of the Irin

Keu awoke in bed that was in a in a wooden shelter. The air was hard to breath the smell of wood filled up Keu's nostrils. Keu got up wearing a pair of gray pants “father would never allow this in the castle” he whispered to himself. The room was built with disoriented logs as walls and the room was too claustrophobic for Keu's taste. He walked out bare footed which disturbed Keu as he always wore shoes and those who didn't weren't worth his time. As he went to grab the handle the door opened and a girl walked through. She looked at Keu for a second then grabbed his wrist and walked out of the room. They walked through a dark hallway filled with sudden turns and Keu depended on the girl to get him out of the hallway. There was a light that showed at the end of the hallway “am I dead” Keu said to himself, but he wasn't. Once they exited into the light there was a big room with hundreds of soldiers talking and walking the girl then yelled for her father. All the men made way for someone. Once the person came to Keu and the girl Keu realized it was the man who begged for his father's help. The man up close looked a lot like his father and even wore the same crown as he did “Hello Keu” the man said smiling. His luxurious beard made it so you couldn't see his top lip and he was much taller that the king. The man then looked at the girl as he then signaled them to follow with a quick nod. The girl let go of him as she and Keu followed the man through the hoard of men. The men looked at Keu in disgust as they whispered something about his father then one of the men spit behind Keu but Keu didn't look back. They then arrived at another room that was poorly lit by only a couple of torches that led to a broken throne. The man then turned toward Keu and said “You probably don't know me well, my name is Hazuta and I'm the king of the Iringate”. Keu got nervous as he asked himself “what if they kill me?” Hazuta then said “your father is my brother. However he brought down my empire for his own jealousy. This throne and my people are the only thing left of my empire”. The girl then turned her head to the ground “oh and here is my daughter Soki” , Soki then turned to Keu and shook his hand. “So ,do you believe your father is a good man” Hazuta continued Keu stood silent and started asking a question. “What happened to Nulse?” Keu questioned, Hazuta then looked confused “We only found you, not your brother”.Keu then looked at the ground“I think you have enough for one day” Hazuta said “your father destroyed my empire and…” Hazuta didn't finish his sentence as he began a new one, he kneeled down to Keu’s height. “Keu did you know about your other uncle” Keu nodded his head and spoke “yeah he died after he got struck by a boulder leaving my fathers empire”. Hazuta then shook his head “who told you that, was it your father” Keu then looked in the eyes of Hazuta “because that is not true. You see your uncle had a large amount of land that came in contact with his and before his death it was massive. So the only way to expand his empire was to get rid of your uncle.” Keu took a step back “Keu boulders don’t just fall” Hazuta then leaned in closer “it was a planned death”. Keu eyes were filled with fear “my f...father killed him”. Hazuta then touched Keu’s shoulder “if you join us we will seize his destructive ways and you can have your rightful place on the throne” Hazuta then held out a hand. Keu looked at it and back at him grasping the hand “I will join you” , Hazuta then smiled “my daughter will train you” he said. Keu then began talking to Soki “so you are going to help me control my dragon transformation”. Hazuta then laughed “boy ,don't you know girls can't transform into dragons it is mentally impossible. She will train you to become a warrior to then face your father and take YOUR empire from him”. Keu then knew what he had to do he had to take revenge on his father.

Chapter 9: Blue eyed Dragon

It's been five months after Keu got recruited into the Irin resistance and Soki was going to take him out of the hideout to get water and food for the soldiers. It was early in the morning so early the sky was a dark blue. Keu strapped on his armor and walked toward the entrance of the hideout waiting for Soki. Soki arrived sword in hand and trident in the other. She also had a bag that had a weird shape so Keu didn't know what it was. She gave Keu the trident “what is this for?” Keu asked “there are still soldiers out there looking for survivors like us so we will need to take them down”. Keu practiced with the trident a few times but prefered a sword and shield because he thought the trident was too long and hard to maneuver. They left the hideout removing the leaves and dried up plants from the doorway. Soldiers then closed the door behind them slowly as they walked through forest where they will reach the streets. The creaks of the doorway echoed through the area. The duo then started walking through forest area where the hideout is. They followed the secret path that Soki countlessly followed before the descent of the Irin empire. The path still had standing sticks that crunched on their feet even though thousands of men ran for the hideout that day, probably shaking the whole forest with their steel toes. No words were exchanged as Soki had taken a role of being Keu's teacher not his friend, Keu felt compelled to say something but couldn't because he kept focusing on the bugs that flew next to his ear. “The bugs probably think my earwax is a small flower” Keu thought aggravated at the buzzing. They soon then saw the town with burned houses and abandoned shops. Soki stopped Keu as she went out of the forest checking for soldiers ,she tell waved her hand signaling him that it was safe. The faint smell of smoke flourished around the collapsed buildings. Keu let his trident rest on the holster around his back when Soki held on her sword.  Keu followed Soki as they went from shop to shop trying to find edible food but most of it was either ashes or molding . The sky was suddenly cloudy as it seemed it was going to rain when they went around looking for an almost intact house. Keu let out a big sigh inhaling abnoctusly “Hey, why do I have blue eyes when I transform and my father and brother have red eyes?”. She stared at Keu “Well you see a dragon starts off with blue eyes so pure, then when it has killed another dragon the soul of that dragon is taken into the eyes making it red. If the same dragon kills more and i mean a lot more then it shall turn purple ,but only grandfather has that.” Keu wondered what the color purple looked like  “So” he started “I've never actually stepped foot in a village , I mean I passed by with a horse and carriage but I have never actually walked in a village. Actually I've never walked anywhere but in the castle area” Soki then chuckled as if Keu was telling a joke. Soki then turned her head to look at Keu quarter smiling “Please tell me you're lying” she said as she then started walking backwards. “No, you get to get out of your castle?” Keu questioned, Soki then relaxed her walk and said  “Yeah I mean I have to have guards with me but I just act like they aren't there ,and then my father trusted me enough to let me go out on my own”. Keu’s face looked confused as he remembered all the bad things and people his father told him about if he went outside. “When you are an adult” the king spoke “Please don't leave the empire you know why because you will take care of it ”. Keu then remembered how his father held him while telling him that “OK” the king shouted, Keu then confused started nodding his head .Keu was much younger then and didn't know what his father meant by take care of  his empire, but what Keu remembered most of all was when he nodded his head his father then bent down and squeezed his skinny body while saying  on repeat “I will get old and you will take care of the empire”. Soki then turned around weirded out by Keu’s sudden silence they walked along the side near the buildings ,Soki  returned to avoid conversation with Keu to listen in for footsteps. They walked until they saw a house in the distance that looked only half damaged. Hope was turning out for them as the ran toward the house begging for food inside.They were across the street from the house when suddenly two men in red uniforms appeared from the corner and turned toward them. They then grabbed their swords in shock and held it toward Keu and Soki, Keu then grabbed his trident having an angry look on his face and a hard grip. He then charged toward one of the soldiers, “The prince must DIE!” the soldier yelled as he swung at Keu, but Keu dogged mostly all of his strikes.The soldier swung his sword some more as the other soldier watched and so did Soki ,she then started reaching for something in her bag. The soldier then finally slashed Keu on the arm. They all froze as they saw the cut that the sword had made, Keu then looked back at the soldier . “RRRRAAAAUGGHHHH” he yelled  impaling the soldier and bringing him to the ground. Soki then swiftly moved toward the second soldier but Keu ran passed her his eyes turned dark blue and his body grew bigger turning his skin into scales and pushing wings out of his body and horns out of his head ripping off his armor. The other soldier stopped at the sight of the dragon his face stunned and almost lost his grip on his sword. Keu then grabbed the soldier, head and arms peaking out “STOOOOP” the soldier screamed. Keu lifted him off the ground and squeezed his hand making crunch sounds. Keu let the body fall and looked behind him to see Soki pointing a bow at him. Soki’s hands started trembling ,she closed one eye and now aimed at the dragon’s head. More soldiers then appeared from the corner street holding their swords toward Keu. One of the guards lowered his sword to see what Keu had done “He...h...he KILLED THEM!” he said. The soldiers then charged toward the dragon “AHHHHH!” they shouted. Keu looked over to them growling, he then ran toward them on all fours. Before the guards could swing their swords Keu clawed at the first three with his sharp claws. The claws pierced through their armor and punctured deep in their skin, they then dropped like bricks. The rest of the charging soldiers came to a sudden stop as they witnessed their men on the ground bleeding. They all stumbled as they tried to walk backwards seeing the things the dragon had done. “Run men, run” a soldier shouted running away. As the soldiers ran Keu started to run after them before being stopped. In front of Keu was Soki “STOP!” she yelled holding her bow and arrow to Keu. Keu backed away and growled at Soki. He looked at the soldiers who were running then back at the bow. His body got smaller and returned back to normal. Soki dropped her bow embarrassingly ,reached into her bag and gave Keu a towel with one hand while covering her eyes with the other. Keu covered his naked body with the towel and walked back to the half damaged house squeezing his fist. Keu kicked open the door Soki walked to the house slowly, still holding her bow as she heard from outside of the house glass breaking and objects falling. He then walked out of the house with a bag, inside the bag was a few potatoes and cabbages. He walked from the town toward the forest ignoring Soki’s presence. Soki sighed as she followed him through the forest “he just needs to cool off” she said to herself.

Chapter 10: A King's talk

Two years past and Keu was given recognition by Soki that in two days they will gather their men and attack the Rye. Keu laid on the bed that he first slept in two years ago. The moon was high and Keu's eyes were wide open ,Keu tossed and turned but nothing seemed to get him to sleep. Low pitched voices echoed throughout the hallway and Keu went to check it out. He walked out of the room and knew the way through the dark hallway to the dark hallway but he stopped once he saw the light. At the end of the hallway he stopped and peeked out toward the door. The big room that on the first day was filled with men now was empty, however Hazuta was talking to another man at the entrance door of the Irin hideout. The voice then started growing louder and the person then stepped inside the doorway it was the Keu’s father. Keu's father now had a full gray beard and was skinnier then a stick, his slim skull surprised Keu as the king kept coughing. Keu then started to walk forth as he knew he could take on his father right now. Keu didn't even walk a yard as he got stopped by a person behind him who muffed his mouth and took him down with the other hand. “Shhhh” the person whispered, Keu looked back to see Soki’s face. Keu broke free from the grasp and went back to peeking but the conversation was over, the door was shut and Hazuta walked toward Keu. Keu got up as Hazuta explained the situation “your father” he began “he wanted my forgiveness and he wanted some of my own soldiers”. Keu looked confused “why would he want that?” Hazuta then sighed “well raiders started taking control little by little of his empire. He couldn't do anything about it because they spread disease on the animals and plants. So everyone got sick that's why your father and your mother came over to get help from me. I just had to turn him down, the Iringate can not forgive that man for what he has done I just hope you can understand that”. Keu paused for a moment “my mother was there” he said, but his father never took his mother anywhere “Yes” Hazuta replied “And it looks like another child is on the way”. Keu then started thinking to himself “ my father would never make another child with my mother, even I wasn't suppose to be born”. “What did she look like?” Keu said, Hazuta then started laughing and stated “she always has this enormous smile whenever I see her, it is impossible to miss”. Keu's mother last smiled when he was born no one even saw her lift up even a cheek. Keu then asked Hazuta “what is my mothers name?” Hazuta laughed again then said isn't your mother's name Teruara. Keu then fell silent as he got the big picture his father got with another woman and impregnated her and he didn't even ask about Keu. Keu's fist then grew tighter as his anger to take over his father's empire was all that he thought about. Keu then walked back to his room as Soki followed, Hazuta went in the other direction smiling.

Chapter 11: Ill gotten empire

The day of revenge came upon Keu as he put on his iron armor and place his trident on his back. For the first time in two years of training Keu was going to walk out of the hideout to the empire he grew up in. The sky was cloudy as it was tempting Keu that it was going to rain. As Keu walked out he saw men ready to fight, Keu walked to the front of the hundred men group and was informed by Soki who even though she trained Keu didn't want to get in a war. Keu then began his speech “Men ,my father has taken away most of your people and made you suffer by hiding away. The disease spread by the raiders have weakened his soldiers and reduced the power of his empire. I say we give back what he gave to us but worse, FOR IRINGATE”. The men then chanted “For Iringate” as Hazuta came from the corner “after we take over the empire there will be nothing but red flooding the streets. FOR IRINGATE” Hazuta stated then he rushed to the King's empire leading the army. They arrived but the entrance was deserted. The sign that read Rye empire now had letters pealing off. The streets were deserted, guards arrived from the direction of the castle and tried stopping the army. The disease that affected them caused them to attack sluggishly as the Iringate army annihilated them. Although they were getting beat easily there were a lot of them that tried to protect them from getting close to the castle. Hazuta then yelled over to Keu “you go to the castle we will take care of the guys here!” Keu then sprinted past the guards toward the castle. From a distance he saw the castle in which his father stayed. Guards started closing the door so that Keu couldn't get in, Keu saw this and ran faster he then leaped to an inhumanly height, he then sucked air into his lungs then shot out a gigantic fireball. The fireball hit the wooden doors and exploded into a fiery blaze. Keu then fell to the ground and rushed up the stairs to see both the doors knocked down and on fire. In front of the door was General Erdyo who was crawling away because both his legs got broken when the door fell. Keu then flipped the general so his back faced the ground “tell me where my father is” the general tried to catch his breath “h...he’s in the throne room” Keu then looked at him “I would spare you but it seems you are not loyal”.  The general had his hands up pleading and crying out “no don't do this”Keu took his trident and plunged it into the general's stomach. Next Keu pulled out the trident and rushed inside past the giant sized corridor, took a turn left then a turn right until he reached his father's throne room. Keu then took out his trident and aimed it at his father who was where the throne stood. “Father” Keu yelled “I'm here to take back MY empire”, the king was pale skinned and his robe kept falling as he tried to keep it on his body he then took off his crown and placed it on the throne. “Son” the king said ,frequently coughing “you shall never sit on this th...euh...euh ack ...throne because you are weak to find out the truth”. Keu's grip on the trident got tighter as he slowly walked his way up the king's platform “what do you mean?” Keu questioned. The king started to laugh but air wouldn't go through his throat properly “So you don't know, hah...euh euh...you really are an idiot” the king then grinned at Keu. “You wear and support his empire but not your own...euh euh… father’s. Well let me tell you a little story. You see two years ago my “brother” warned me about raiders trying to take down my empire. Oh and did those raiders come ,well yes they did. They brought disease and took down most of the empire, and you know what is the funniest part found a very interesting emblem on one of the raiders’s jacket and you know which one it was.” The king then came closer to Keu and whispered “It was the IRINGATE” the king then started to laugh the same airless laugh as he got up from his chair and walked toward Keu.” You see my son, my brother found you in the desert and thought if he could change you that you could be throne me. In reality however he was using you to become the king of my empire and if he had your trust he could do anything. He just needed to take down my family line.” Keu's grip loosened as he realized he was played “n...no” Keu yelled “I'll become king and make my own rules”. The king then stopped a foot away from Keu lowering his trident so he only held it in one hand. “But for how long will you be king until my brother kills you and takes the throne for himself. You see Keu you have no win in this”. A hand then touched Keu's hand he looked back to see a woman who was pregnant. “Keu I'm Teruara your father's wife” ,a fury arose in Keu he then punched the woman I'm the face and directed his attention to his father aiming the trident at him again. “Is it yours” Keu yelled the king then answered taking off his crown and putting it on the throne “of course it is mine who else would take the thrown”. The woman then ran off crying ,Keu then said to the king “y...you're replacing me, our family”, the king then smiled again “I told you you will never sit on this throne”. Keu then shouted “WHERE IS MY MOTHER!” the king then smiled and said “why don’t you look in hell?”.

Chapter 12: The Dragon King

The king’s eyes turned red as he then swung his tail at Keu pushing him to the other side of the room. The king then transformed into a dragon and grabbed Keu and threw him all around the room. Keu's armor fell off leaving him with just a shirt against a dragon. The king then went outside and threw Keu into one of the houses. Keu got up and saw his father's hand about to slash his face he ran while his father spit fireballs “I have to transform” Keu thought but he couldn't do it. The king then grabbed Keu and flew with him back into the castle and dropped him. Keu then grabbed his trident but before he could do anything the king grabbed his leg and few through the roof of the castle. Taking Keu along by holding him, Keu held on to his trident as the ground was getting farther away. The air was getting harder to breath and he couldn't take it “I have to transform now” Keu thought, but everything felt numb to him. Knowing he wouldn’t be able to transform Keu threw his trident at the king and it landed on his lung piercing it. The king couldn't take the pain as hot air blew out from the pierced lung he then  started falling. Keu held on to the trident as they both were falling. Keu then climbed down the ladder and started holding on to the scales of the king. He pulled the trident out and then aimed it toward the king's heart, Keu then charged up and pulled down on the trident a second away from the ground. The king landed on the ground hard. They landed on the stairs of the throne room Keu then stood up trident in his hand deep in the king's heart , Keu then pulled out the trident as blood spewed from it. He then stood on top of the dragon as he was a king no more, but the dragon didn’t transform back as it stayed a dragon.  Keu stood on top of it with his trident gazing at his glory. Hazuta came to the room and saw Keu onto of the dragon “Well done Keu ,now just take his crown and declare yourself k…” . Hazuta wasn't able to finish his sentence because Keu threw his trident in Hazuta’s body. “Wha...why” Hazuta whispered, Keu then pulled out the trident from his body as he then dropped to the ground motionless and bleeding. Keu then took of Hazuta’s crown and crushed it with his bare hands. He walked around the dragon to the throne picked up his father’s crown and put it on his head sitting down on the throne. He closed his eyes as soldiers both from the Iringate and the king's empire came to the room. The soldiers spotted the two king's dead and Keu with the only crown “I bet you are are confused to what has happened here. Well it is simple both the king's of your empire are dead ,so now I will be taking order” Keu then opened his eyes to show the people his marvelous red eyes. The people bowed in fear as Keu had taken control “ ALL HAIL THE DRAGON KING” the crowd chanted “ALL HAIL THE DRAGON KING” . “Yes” Keu thought, “ I am him ,I am THE DRAGON KING”.
