So, this is it.

I’m leaving the 1D fandom tumblr sphere forever. I still love the band and the boys, but I’m tired of feeling like I have to step a certain way to be accepted, or liked. And  really I shouldn’t care about my stats, I should be doing this for me, and I’m just not anymore.

I will never forget all the amazing things this space and fandom gave me. All the friends, all the happiness, but it’s time I leave it be.

I’m moving to permanently to @dilwaledyke and @sterekdyke for those who may want to follow me. I’ll be deleting this blog in a week.

It’s trans, not trans*

It’s trans men and trans women, not transmen and transwomen—trans is an adjective that answers “what kind of men/women"—cis works the same way

Never call trans men FTMs or trans women MTFs without their permission

Trans is short for transgender, it’s not plural for anything—trans person and trans people are both correct

Never use “born in the wrong body” or “used to be a boy and became a girl” or “biologically/genetically male/female”—all are just fancy ways to misgender someone (self identification with these phrases is different)

Transgendered is wrong, so is “a transgender” and “transgenders”

Being trans is not a sexuality nor is it a “sexual disorder” or any kind of disorder at all—gender identity disorder is not a real thing, and being trans isn’t a medical condition

“Transsexual” is generally considered an offensive term and should never be used to describe someone without their permission

Don’t refer to a trans person’s gender as their gender identity, it’s just their gender

Similarly don’t refer to their pronouns as “preferred pronouns"—they’re not preferred, they’re mandatory

Speaking of butch fetishization I’ve had so many people of all genders make inappropriate comments, inappropriate and hurtful advances, and violent advances online and in public when I’m minding my own business.

The gay community (and heterosexuals) on the whole fetishize gnc women and butches. I know you all know what consent is. I know you all know when someone is made uncomfortable by your comments. You are aware.

We’re not sexual objects to fulfill your desire or a safe masculine option for you to get out what ever you need to get out. We’re people with desires, feelings, insecurities, etc. Not all, though, many of us do fight addiction, depression, and alcoholism, among other things.

Please listen to butches, studs, and other gnc people and women bc I’m tired. We’re tired. We love and protect you with all our hearts. As a rural butch who has been kissed n shit against my will by straight men I want to tell you that no amount of masculinity will keep you safe. As a rural butch who’s had women assault me I want to tell you that it doesn’t matter who you’re with it might happen to you.

Butches always watch your back, make sure you watch theirs.

This includes trans butches and trans lesbians.

my blog has really been picking up lately and i just wanted to raise awareness around an issue in our community! cottagecore/naturecore/farmcore etc may seem fun and harmless, but there are a few things to remember.

for non-indigenous people in north america, we must remember that the land we are living on does not belong to us - it’s stolen. before settlers came to the americas the lands were thriving, and now farm industries are helping to destroy the environment that indigenous people are fighting to protect. instead of idolizing mass-production and farming practices that are harmful for the environment, you should research how the indigenous peoples in your area cared for their home and how colonizers have impacted the way we cultivate/care for farmland.
