i know people are gonna come for me but I think there were never a love triangle between maven, mare and cal.

Cal and mare loved each other sure but mare just saw maven as someone who she trusted, someone who was willing to help her i mean sure maybe she was staring to kinda like him BUT LISTEN !

The way maven talks about mare and Thomas are very different. Maven's heart beats for Thomas and Thomas only but then why mare you ask?

Mare was the first person to look at him as the first option not just a second prince. She looked at him with hope! So he was drawn into liking her but then elara just turned that into a bizarre obsession. And maven with her mother dead and all her feelings toward anyone gone was willing to do ANYTHING to keep mare by his side.

And at the end...his brother was the only one who wept for him by his grave stone.

I just found out maven was 12 and Thomas was 17 when they met AND IM HERE FOR THAT but like I kinda thought they were the same age or something.

Am I the only one who thinks maven's death scene is so short and simple yet so sad and devastating?? Like...I just stare at the words, speechless.
