Please remember that just because the government is giving into pressure and greed, that doesn’t mean that any of this is getting any better, in a lot of ways it’s getting worse. And even if you yourself aren’t being as heavily affected anymore, there are people and communities that are.

Every time I get groceries I’m always appalled at how little you can get for like, $20. I was making banana pudding so I needed vanilla wafers but the brand name nilla wafers cost $4 a box. The minimum wage in my state is $7.25/hr. My friend put it really well when he said “imagine you work for an hour and someone hands you two boxes of nilla wafers and said ‘actually this is a bit more than what I owe you’”

So

Does anyone remember that Fratboy!black dragons idea I had a while back? (I mean I think I posted it. It could've been a fever dream. Idk.)

ANYWAY! Mortal kombat college is a fantastic idea in my head! Think about it!! Each Relm has their own college, and every once in a while they get together and have a mini-version of the Olympics.

For UNE (University of Earthrealm), Raiden is the president, and Fujin is the Dean of students. (Raiden wanted to share his title with his brother, but Fujin wanted to connect with the parents, student, and general community more so than a high paying job.) The Elder gods are the school board or smth idk

Sonya and Kano are rivals from high-school, and she's this close to punching him at all the football games she attends to see her bestie, Jax, on the field. Kano and the rest of the black dragon would be the annoying drunks with letters painted on their chests, if they actually cared about the school. They only go to the games for the beer.

(And yes, Kano does eventually get scouted for wrestling by Shang Tsung, who happens to be the Athletic director for UNO (University of outworld.)

Johnny Cage is a theater major who wants EVRYONE to know that his dad paid for his education in full and that he's going to be in movies some day. (Sure dude.)

Liu Kang is a top student, not because he's genius level smart, but because he's too stubborn to let Raiden down. (Raiden happens to be Liu Kang's adoptive father.) Kung Lao is Liu's bestie, obviously. He's at UNE because he has some kind of athletic scholarship.

I wrote this instead of doing homework. LMK if anyone wants to heat more of my ideas!

Just for clarification, I'm not going to create an actual fic for this, (mabye a few one-shots thought) so if anyone wants to use some of these ideas, go ahead! Just credit me :)

215 Indigenous children were found buried at a Kamloops residential school site, some as young as THREE years old.

That residential school only closed in 1978. The last residential school closed in 1996. This isn't some distant history that we are talking about.

And Indigenous people continue to be oppressed in this country, the effects are very much felt in present day.

We should be collectively grieving this atrocity as a country.
