Fennec Foxes (Vulpes zerda) on exhibition at the Houston Museum of Natural Science (HMNS). A North African variety of fox that is closely related to no less than eight other desert adapted foxes from the same geographic area.

This animal is heavily adapted for desert life. This includes huge ears and very efficient kidneys. In fact, of the eight desert foxes, V. zerda prioritizes the most extreme areas of the desert to make their home.
