olive&thyme, manchester, 02/07/17
olive and thyme is a middle eastern / mediterrean resteraunt situated deep in the heart of south of manchester in a small township known as we think chorlotn (and definitley not disdbury) they serve a wide array of cuisines from far and wide... from hummous to french fires... they have it all. the place was quite elegant in appearance with contempoary seating of nice black chairs on wooden tables the also have an outdoors area shielded by a glass wall to protect you from the elements for an increased visual dining experience. wow this place was great. the staff were very friendly and they provided an excellent service.
so here we go - esha and jazz walk into the place we decided it was too cold to sit in the glass fortress so we were seated inside along the western wall of the resteraunt. we spennt a while deciding on what to eat because the choice was great and vast.
the waitress came asked if we would like drinks. we ordered drinks. esha got her self a coke and jazz got a classic water nothing fancy just straight water in a glass, there were no wierdly shaped recipticals or ought just plain and simple glass glassess.
here is a sweet shot of esha’s coke:

we order food which came within good time... not too late to get bored and complacent but just enough for chit chat and  too just gaze into each other eyes :) here are some photos of of jazz and esha looking excited for food times:

the food arrives:
jazz orders a mousaka (which came with not jasmine rice)

changos, manchester, 03/01/17
do you like authenitc mexican cuisine? is the answer yes? then okay you should go to this place for a semi-realistic burrito. mexicos finest food in the heart of manchester where you can eat to your hearts content. changos is themed with all the mexican stereotypes but dont let that turn you away! the foods great. it tastey so nice and you build what oyu like and eat. so when you first enter the changos you are greeted by one of the workers behind the bar? is it a bar? who knows? the glass box thing? a counter? okay you get the idea they will ask you what you want... you should ask for a burito. they will ask what flavour if you if you have not alredy stated they have 4 flavours, 3 animals and 1 veggies - you can has chicken, cow, pig or veg. jazz usually gets a large and esha usually gets a medium with a beer. however jazz order medium cause we have custard and yule log times afters. (not as good as sound but nice for a while but to sweet times :( but is okay) jazz order cow burrito and esha order veg burrito. the choice of rice is the first stage to burrito heaven and then you visit 9 more and its fucking sick - white or brown? beans or no beans? veg? cheese? sour cream? crushed tortilla chips? mild salsa or hot salsa? lettuce? jalopenos (sometimes they are green and sometimes they are red)? also they have a plethora of sauces from bbq to full on fire. we make our burritos their are so much options . the counter people listen to our commands as they serve us and submit to every one of our burrito related demands. its great. esha gets a modelo beer with her burrito jazz does not. we pay. jazz smashed out her chango loyalty card (well done sweet! so proud xxx) we sit. the seating at changos varies in height there are low tables and chairs or high tables with stools sometimes you can get a comfy sofa thingy instead of a chair depending on your mood and also availability.. they even accomdate for the isolated introvert with a hunger of mexican themed foods by the mirror wall - which is a section of changos with stools facing mirrors against a wall. this is both an intimate experience between you and your creation and also practical when your lil burrito make a mess all over your face you can sort yourself out. any who they wrap the burrito up and place the sticker to symbolize what food you are consume unless you are vegetarian it is a mushroom there are no mushrooms in the veg buritio. this is a lie. okay moving on... so we sit at low table. spiritis are high the food is good but dressed. it is time to strip little burrito and eat up alive.
here are some photos of esha and jazz enjoying their buritos
Tumblr media
here is a photo of jazz eating her cow burrito as you can see like a truly authetnic mexican she uses the ‘el forko’ which is a ancient instrument used by the mexican peoples used to consume buritos for the past millennial! you can tell jazz is enjoy cause she has the smile of satisfaction her faces and she look dead cute and happy she has burrito. also eyebrow lol. also nice nails (jealous).
Tumblr media
here is esha going for the one handed bite technique (not such an authentic technique) you can see the pure pleasure in her eyes. she’s in heaven all 10 of them and its fucking great.
Tumblr media
here is an action shot of the beer and jazz in motion. as you can see there is a lot going on in this photo so it might be difficult to take it all in but thats okay. i highly recommend spending a good five minuties looking at this photo so many patterns and actions it is a little overwhleming. but that is what changos does to you and this photo isnt even close in capturing the true awesomeness that is the changos.
sometimes when you eat a changos burritio things do not go to plan and thats okay. if life was planned out for you that would suck right? so here we are accepting ourselves for what could and happen and sometimes one of those possibliteis in life is that you can make messes... here is esha with mess in her beards:
Tumblr media
she does not look happy but it is okays cause jazz help clean her up cause she look after her lots :) esha very grateful.
the changos was eventually consumed and we boths so happys cause chango is in bellys and we has each other.
changos get a 9.01/10

home sweet home, manchester, 02/01/17
home sweet home is a little hipster resteraunt located in northern quarter in manchester - it combines elements of great cakes with fine dining with lots of quirkey decor and furniture. its quite a cosy place i think. its almost like they are trying to create some sort of environement where you feel like you are home.. this is their goal. they did not succeed. but alas we enter and we are seated. we were served by a waiter who appeared to not want to work at home sweet home. he seemed like he had troubles but yet he powered on through his day and shift to serve all patrons of the home sweet home. we order drinks. jazz ordered a tap water. it did not come. esha orderd a beer it came with a frozen glass. it was cold. it kept beer cold. esha is a happy bunny.  water game eventually in a ‘handless jug’ definitely not a vase. at some point having reviewed initally the incorrect menu we were ready to order. jazz ordered some sort of pulled pork thingy majig (maybe nachos) and i rodered a veggie burger with some cheesey fries and apple slaw upon the recommendation of jazz. she did not dissapoint. they were sick. unfortuantely the pull pork thingy majg was not avaialble as they ran of pig. so the waiter who didn’t want to be there came back to give us the bad news. it was okay although jazz despereately wanted the pulled pork thingy majig her spirits were still high and had to decided between a safe classic of chicken in a basket or mac and cheese. jazz was uncertain on what to order and agreed to make a strategic rash decision upon the return of the waiter who did not want to be there. order was confirmed food was cooking. bellys ready for great foods is readys. food arrives. jazz is food came in a steel basket as the name suggests with two wierd loops to hold sauces in it looked like a challenging thing to eat out of. my burger arrived in a plate with a basket of cheesey chips and slaw on the side. it looked tasty. jazz chicken looked realtively dead but it looked great.
here are some photos of esha and jazz enjoying their meals
Tumblr media
esha munching her burger - its construction was priamrily sweet potatoe with some other veggies in it was very good. it felt like an explosion of flavours in the mouth. it was a pleasure to consume. it tasted like a potatoe gernade of happiness and spices. the chips were very cheesey and large in size they were not finished. slaw was a good choice. thanks jazz! it really hit the spot says esha. the slaw was crisp and had adequate crunch - the burger was a good size.
Tumblr media
jazz tucking into her chicken in the basket. one of the sauces tasted like bad gravy and honey niether jazz or esha approve of this mystery sauce - due to the complex nature of the vessel of which jazz food is contained in this photo it made for difficult eating with a knife and fork infact jazz dropped her knife in the basket twice and it fit perfectly through the basket. oh the laughs that were had. maybe this is some sort of sick joke? maybe home sweet home like to give customers awkard things to eat out of for their own amusement? further investigation is required. general feedback was the chciekn in the basket was good. jazz made lots of ummmms and smiles. this would suggest it was good. unless it was a basket of lies. the latter is very unlikely.
we were hangry food was eaten :)
it was geeat
at around 17:02 home sweet home really went all out and turned up the heat by introducing some ambience this really changed the atmosphere of the whole place, crap waiter guy returns with a candle and places it on our table. emotions were raised even higher now the scene had been set.
Tumblr media
here is a photo of the mystery sauce that tasted of honeys and sadness with jazz in the background doing an impeccable job of presenting the ambience in the background with a cheeky corner shot of the chicken in the basket and some tissue paper to add more textures to the photo.
generally home sweet home did not dissapoint the foods overall was good it tasted like what the menu said it was.
home sweet home gets a solid 7.54/10.00
