What do you think Snape's relationship would be like with his daughter if he had one? Especially if she was similar to him in a lot of ways.

I personally think that if he had a daughter he would do his best to build up her confidence whilst avoiding arrogance. His mother (as much as she loved him) was pitifully neglectful, and his father was one hell of a tosser, so his efforts would go toward encouraging her hobbies and interests.

Just not how the "average" parent might.

There would be no coddling. No needless pampering, spoiling, or favoritism of any kind - despite Gryffindor's well-known impression of Professor Severus Snape. She would receive no aid in her studies unless it involved Potions or Alchemy (which she'd likely be required to learn anyhow). Her extracurriculars were her own. If she wanted to pursue it in earnest, that's what she would do. One does not gain true knowledge by having answers laid out for them. Cognitive thinking is not to be had naturally. If he told her how to think, she would never learn to do so for herself.

But during holidays or birthdays she would find little coin bags with enough money to restock her equipment/ingredients and then some, and each year the little string around its opening tied into practiced bows told her all she needed to know.

He was, at all times, striving to surpass that of her grandparents, to give her a better chance at herself than he had ever been offered.

Her dad would never unjustly let her down.

He was there when she needed it,

when she didn't need it,

and especially when she didn't want it.

He was there. He was a man of action in all aspects. Fatherhood was no exception.
