Enter Catrina De La Fuente. She’s a 26 year old Immigration Attorney and is the spitting image of Emeraude Toubia. She is a GODDESS from the AZTEC realm and is Team Hera. Sorry to say but, she’s taken.
→ Once Upon A Time.
Mictēcacihuātl was queen of the Aztec underworld ruling alongside her husband, Mictlāntēcutli. At times, they would often battle each other on how to run the realm, but for the most part, they managed to work swimmingly together and compromise. However, their marriage was put to the test on the Winter Solstice when Hera spoke out against Zeus, and Mictēcacihuātl stood by Hera. When banished into the mortal realm, she did find her husband, but he was hypocritical, and a philanderer much like Zeus, and let’s just say, they never made it down the aisle.
Catrina De La Fuente was considered a princess amongst the people of San Angel, her father being the mayor and her mother, a diplomat. She was the golden girl, the girl wise beyond her years with a gorgeous smile, with the darkest secret: she was the reincarnated goddess of the dead. She had the ability to drain the life of someone, revive the dead, and communicate with the dead. To make matters worse, every night of the full moon, her eyes glowed an eerie yellow and her face would appear to look like a calavera, or a painted skull with vibrant colors. The girl often thought of herself as a freak, constantly terrified of losing her temper in fear of killing someone or reviving the wrong person. However, she had found solace with her cousin Manolo and his lovely music and her family friend, Xavier Balboa de Santos. Over time, she fell in love with Xavier and before she moved to finish off high school and continue her studies in law and find out more about her magic at Walt Disney Prep Academy, he proposed to her and she happily accepted.
She begged the man to follow her to California with her, but he seemed reluctant, but she refused to stay in San Angel any longer and so, she set off and left. Only communicating with her fiance electronically and by phone. She continued to excel at WDPA and made many friends within her first year, but she missed home greatly and so, for Dia De Los Muertos, she returned home, only to be heartbroken. Xavier had cheated on her with another. Catrina simply threw the ring and tearfully stormed away but Xavier was adamant and dragged the fight into the streets, making a fool out of himself. From then on, Catrina vowed to never fall for anyone else but upon returning back to California, things changed when her cousin Manolo followed her there.
→ The Road So Far.
Catrina’s life had its twists and turns, she can gladly say she’s happy–at least to a point. She still harbors a strong guilt for reviving her cousin Manolo after he was struck and killed by a drunk driver, trying to save his beloved Maria. It’s something she’s been struggling to fix and something she and her cousin constantly fight over. However, she constantly counts her blessings after graduating from WDPA, acing law school, and passing the bar, and now on her way to becoming the next attorney, she would say life’s good. However, lately, she’s been teamed up with none other than Blaine Barril, the one person she thought she’d never in a million years work with as the two had a long standing rivalry since their days in undergrad. Between the cases she works with, trying to balance her social life, and life as a reincarnated goddess, Cat would say she’s juggling as best as the average 26-year-old millennial would: with a lot of wine.
→ Behind The Mask.
Catrina is a woman with passion and fire in her soul and a pep in her step. She’s sweet like honey and warm to anyone she encounters. However, her kindness should not be mistaken for weakness. If she’s provoked, she’s been prone to knocking people literally off their feet. Though she’s one to use her magic for good, she is not one that is afraid to get her hands dirty if she feels physically threatened. Her charisma and passionate speaking can even stun a room to silence. She’s a woman who believes in doing what’s right at all costs; the textbook definition of lawful good, even if that means good and evil have to bend for a common ground.
→ The Vices & Virtues.
+ Generous, Compassionate, Sweet
- Temperamental, Stubborn, Overprotective
→ Are You A Friend or Foe?
Bridget Mayer (Best Friend): It was no surprise when the two spit-fires became very close over time. Catrina absolutely adores Bridget and is constantly cheering her on to be her best self, while Bridget extends the same sentiment to her.
Manolo Sanchez (Cousin): She adores her dear cousin Manolo, although she feels an immense amount of guilt for what happened to him. Luckily, their relationship has been on the mend as he begins to settle into his life once again.
Arista Triton (Best Friend): Arista is like the sister that Catrina had always dreamed of. She confides in her and between the fine wine, music, and exchanging gossip, she adores having her around.
