oh oh and martha's mum from beyond paradise is the art dealer from season 9

and di karen flitcroft (??) is dr jenny wendle from the worst witch (weirdsister college)

Idk how much of a gag it still is that the bbc recycles it's actors and that they all know each other and blahblahblah.

but recently I had an experience when thinking about the canon of something because of this.

I was watching PBS and they were showing reruns of Death In Paradise and it was one of the earlier seasons. One of the suspects was played by Ralf Little...and the thing is...Ralf Little comes BACK...and he comes back AS THE MAIN LEAD DETECTIVE!

So canonically speaking...on the island live two men with the SAME FACE! Who are apparently different people. It would and potentially could be the weirdest reverse witness protection program. Or one hell of a reveal of some shenanigans that happened before Neville was forced to be back on the island but that's very much not the case based on lore for this character.

So canonically, because they used the same actor in the same show...doppelganger...

and yeah I know, watch anything from the BBC and you'll find like five familiar faces within twenty minutes but....it's just fun to think about within the rules of the universe its set in.

at some point the prison is going to get too small- there are nearly 100 episodes of dip (season 13 ep 1 is the 100th episode) so there are definetely more than 100 murderers in that prison

or do the british murderers get shipped back to britain?

idk

death in paradise is such a comfort show for me if i ignore the fact that there's been 11 seasons worth of murders on a tiny caribbean island so the crime rate must be through the roof
