Joy must be a child’s feeling

I think we’re all bored and looking for change. We all want something different... unique. But why? What’s so wrong with the normal? The ordinary? What is it that makes us want more? Are we all desperately looking for the thing that sparks joy and hope by looking for it in something unique? If that’s so, why do we find favorite songs that we listen to on repeat, or favorite movies that we’ve seen enough times to memorize the words to? We find comfort in the ordinary, yet we’re all so desperate to find change, find new.

And here I am, writing this as “we”. Who is we? I guess I find comfort in thinking I’m not the only one to feel this way.

I just wish it’d go away and I could sleep forever. I’d love to, but I never could do that to people around me. I don’t think anyone would care that it was me who is gone, but people are dramatic and it’s a good talking piece isn’t it.
