if like a billion people played dialtown and you became like soooo rich would you become evil and start throwing out evil evil cashgrab dlcs and evil poorly made merch until all your friends HATE you and LEAVE but you dont freaking care cause youre so rich and evil . Or Like . would everything be the same but Cooler cause youre so freaking rich so now you can do like a trillion dialtown things all the time ever
If I was genuinely rich, I'd just continue on with the normal plan except I'd hire the artists I work with more often, both for in-game stuff and to help assist in delivering more DT content during the gaps between releases. Maybe get a few animators in (commissioning animated voice acted minisodes would be fun!), have more art sequences and stuff in the routes, etc.
Would also be fun to make merch of the less important characters, but y'know, to the same standard as the existing stuff.

Hello! I'm sorry to ask about your old games, but a friend and I were trying to find out a little more about the Kennedy siblings' dynamic. So the question arises... Is there another reason for Peter, besides getting married, to leave his younger siblings alone? Sorry if the question was answered before :(
I really enjoy your work!!!
Work, marriage, also was deeply unhappy living in Reno and always wanted to move onto somewhere else, eventually settling in Colorado. Dee and Jack didn't take it well, but Jack insisted he was responsible enough to care for her. He wasn't. The whole thing was a tragedy of errors.

May be a bit strange to ask, but where did the idea for the dlc come from?
There were a lot of cut basegame route ideas and a way to let my brain process not adding them to the game was to say "if the game does well, I GUESS I could do DLCs one day."
Roger's route was one notable example. I wrote Roger + Peter's basegame scene and felt a hunger to show more of the factory off, build on the plotline I'd written just for that scene. Given how much I had on my plate with the basegame already, I decided it was an idea to potentially revisit after release, y'know, if people were interested in seeing more.
There was also another cut route involving the head of the Mob (which made it the closest of the cut routes to being a basegame route, only being cut before Oliver's route began production), a Jerry route idea, a Fusco route idea... Olandy was also one of these ideas.
The idea originally stemmed from an idea for a joke ending. Randy's route is kind of a relic in that it's structured differently from the other routes. Not only does Randy's route allow you to continue exploring the town AFTER agreeing to meet him, but there's also a day 2 free roam segment where you search for him. Originally, all of the routes were going to have a day 2 with new stuff to see, before I realized I was essentially planning to add a bunch of content that would've just padded the routes out at best, wasted time with content nobody would see at worst (how many people are aware God currently has a 10k word scene on day 2 of Randy's route, after all?)
Anyway, Olandy started off as a funny idea. In most cases, there's a simple failsafe that prevents you from double dating. The option to ask Karen out and visit Bigfoot simply get disabled as options. However, since Oliver asks YOU out the moment he sees you (if you play with a phone head), I added a different failsafe that stops this happening if you've already told Randy you're going to meet him, where he essentially gives you the Typewriter greeting instead if it's your first time meeting him.
Briefly, I considered adding a side ending where you could have Oliver ask you out as normal after agreeing to meet Randy, then arrive with Oliver, only for Randy to already be there. This would've been an awkward encounter to say the least. But, the more I thought about it, the more likely I found it that Randy would begrudgingly agree to enter with both you and Oliver since both characters already know each other and Randy's already ditched work for you.
From there, I began wondering what a Randy + Oliver route would look like and gradually warmed up to the idea, to the point where I genuinely considered adding the route to the basegame for a time. When the game came out and people started shipping them, I figured it was worth revisiting the ideas I already wanted to do.
The only DLC ideas that weren't ever considered as basegame routes involves one with a character I hadn't come up with and the final idea on the list, which is something else entirely.

My recent post about the DT cast telling life stories kinda made me think about something. I was actually a tad worried posting it because quite a few of the stories were somewhat heavy, but I guess I felt comfortable enough since there was some variety in the tones of the stories... Oddly enough, the heavier ones were the ones that people seemed to like best, from the responses.
Admittedly, I've got a few scene ideas that I've been saving for nondescript future content. Some, I could turn into short stories, some work better as scenes of dialogue. I guess my question is: If I was to make videos of any of these scenes as monologues, would people be interested in that?
I guess it's more just that I usually try to shovel a lot of comedy to help the heavier stuff go down easier, but now I'm genuinely curious if there's demand for more of this content on its own, like, pretty heavy character stuff? If so, I've got a Karen monologue that I was gonna save for a potential sequel which might be interesting to show off.

Hello again, doggoman!! I was just doing to ask if making a dialtown oc with a keyboard for a head would be fine. Is a keyboard head something you'd see in dialtown?
Keyboard heads (assuming you mean a PC keyboard) are canon in-game! There's an illustration of a cat with one in the Crown backstory scene!

Dear Dogman Since gingi is a mammal ( they have nipples, they are like Monotremes/platypuses ) that means that gingi can make milk. So this raises the question: What does Gingi’s milk taste like?
This is for scientific reasons only
It's sweet and palatable enough for raccoons to drink. That's all the information I'm giving on this topic for now.

I know norm met milt and callum but did he ever meet marla or was she excluded at that point?
He saw her at the ceremony, but they didn't speak at any point. Norm only so much as met Milt in the sense that they essentially greeted each other. Norm approached Crown as Milt left, passing him. Crown and Norm spoke for only a minute or two. In reality, he hardly met any of them.

quick question..... mr dickens, mentioned by olliver................. and is said to be a british chap.. is mr dickers, perhaps, charles dickens..
Nope, but he's named after him. Charles Dickens' most famous creation is Oliver Twist, and Ebenezer Dickens' is Oliver Swift.
The Ebenezer is actually taken from Ebenezer Scrooge, Charles Dickens' other most famous character. Oliver's surname also comes from Jonathan Swift, author of Gulliver's Travels, continuing the novelist schtick a tad further.

hi again mr dogman . you probably dont remember me but boy howdy do i remember you . and randy and the hole . anywho
more like serious ? ig ? question this time ... how much would you say getting the dlc changes the achievements for dialtown ? i love the game a lot and i've been thinking about buying the dlc for it but i'm also an achievement hunter and i don't really wanna snag anything extra before getting 100% if it makes getting some achievements harder/take way longer ... 💔💔
Glad to hear you like the game!
The DLC simply requires two endings of Roger's route to be completed to get the 'get all endings' + 'all shit yourself and die ending' achievements. There's only maybe 4-6 hours of playtime difference to get these achievements if Roger's route is installed.

Hey at the end of the credits it says Scott Cawthon is your dad was that just an expression or like real? I’m trying to get my older sibling to listen to me about Dialtown.
No, just an inside joke I included on the one in a billion chance he ever saw the credits. He gave me a really good pep talk during DT development when I was at my lowest and when I wrote back, I jokingly said "thanks, dad" and he replied "don't mention it, son. now go get 'em, tiger!"
