im game developing again

this is gonna be a cool ass 2.5d platformer i wanna release on google play with a ton of unique worlds and stuff, and it uses the 8x8 scarfguy/piglatin sprite animations i made when i was 12 or 13. I think that's a little cool, that I'm turning something from that long ago into a reality of some kind. It isn't the same movement I exactly wanted back then, and some part of me doesn't like it, but really I don't want to spend a ton more time on the movement right now. Main priorities for now is making a COOL fuccking skybox, adding mobile buttons, and designing and completing the first world

i don’t know what else to say except that AI art is no longer simply a source of creativity or a wonder of human creation. it has become actively hostile and destructive toward the very thing it pretends to uplift and celebrate. it is void of any human element, any soul or ounce of emotion or self-expression. continuing to use AI art knowing that it comes from theft and robbing artists of their livelihood is disgusting. we need your support now more than ever. stop giving these thieves your money and admiration.

here's some stuff i never published

the top one is basically finished, but i never put it anywhere because i thought it wasn't good enough. It was supposed to look AI generated, and the .blend is called "AI generated art.blend"

the middle one I really liked the start of, but I really just had no ideas with it at all. It was gonna be like a castle and i called it dew and it was gonna look like early morning but i just couldn't think of what else to do next.

The bottom one is like 60% done, all the major points are there, I really just need to make all the stores and put clothes on everyone, but by the time i got to that point the whole project had lost so much steam i didnt feel like pursuing it anymore. I might still finish it, because it's about the closest i've gotten to nailing my exact aesthetic on the head. The text on the sign says "Public parks? Odd, I saw you sucking your dogs penis last night. Here's your public 12,000 rotogen pit of radiation. Fuck off" -amazon; referencing probably my favorite image of all time, I wont describe it because it ruins the joke but it's funny i swear. For reference, the elephant's foot at chernobyl gave off about 10,000 rotogen/hour, so amazon really outdid themselves and topped chernobyl by 20%.

i havent done anything except for that website in like a month regarding my art. i havent even really made any pixel art for that game bc duck (my fren/programmer for said game) just kinda dropped the project altogether and im not smart enough to continue it solo. maybe 2 months ago now i started working on a theme park thing as suggested by my pal kippy but i essentially dropped it as soon as i picked it up. hell, i havent even made my behind the scenes tiktok for that website (which btw i literally have all the screenshots and footage i need, even a full script, i just havent bothered recording/editing it yet).

ive gotta grow that portfolio eventually, otherwise itd be in vein. i just need the motivation to do it.

I FINISHED MY PORTFOLIO SITE

I DID ALL THE CODING AND STUFF BY MYSELF!!!! I DID A CSS!!! ME!!! I DID IT!!!!! ALL BY MYSELF and also stackoverflow and also w3schools but like honestly what does it matter its not like i hired someone to do it for me

fun fact about the background, that was my first time using the mapping node and there is no doubt im going to stop using it for all of my animated work anytime soon because jesus christ dude its so cool i can like animate a value using keyframes like that is just so fucking neato

was working on it, now im not. couldnt figure out how to program certain things so i gave up for a bit to focus on my art again. I am working on a different project where i am only doing the art and not the programming so that may turn out better, whos to say

excited bc this is the first time im actually making a game with real code instead of just throwing together garbage in scratch

its nothing groundbreaking, just a really short metroidvania about collecting coins, but its something i can be proud of

the main mechanic will (hopefully) be reflecting enemy bullets back at them with your shield. you will not have your own gun, enemies do not have their own shield
