JD had the egg when he was 16. During that time his, now ex, boyfriend were happy about the fact they were gonna be an actual family, only for him to back out and have JD become a single parent, no worries tho! He gets through it with his brothers and Grandma Rosie

(please, don't ship Ablaze and JD during this time for Ablaze would be 19 going onto 20💀, no the two haven't meet during this time either)

Spoilers, but yeah, JD told him the truth, he really didn't care at the time who he told, even if they were his own brothers

Bruce: So...what kind of animal did you tick off to get those? *Points to his wrist* Did you try and take the cub of an animal?

JD: Huh? Oh...no these I did myself

Bruce:.....Pardon?

It was the way JD says that makes Bruce, remember he's a dad, break down. Because JD says it in a tone that....give what was going on during that time, that sounds so defeated. Because JD was treating it as like it was no big deal when it really is.

Bruce would have been continuing his life while JD would most likely have been dead. Bruce gets JD to talk more about it, but all JD says is "I literally thought Branch was dead.....I wanted to feel something else.....anything else than that sinking feeling. This is what kept me grounded. That's it, nothing else."

For your second question, the Mockingbird Bird AU is all over the place, the fic is still in the beginning stages (cause I'm trying to finish We Are In Sync first)

It's really something JD doesn't hide, he has it out in the open, literally. The first time Ablaze saw them , he thought an animal caused it by how ragged they looked. So I can think BroZone thought the same (maybe Floyd knew, he has been to places and done things he isn't proud of)

But finding out your older brother who protected you from harm is harming himself? That's soul crushing, even worse is the reason. JD believed Branch was dead, his son. What kind of dad was he that he not only left his brothers because of something so dumb, to leaving his son. He believed he deserved to hurt and that reason alone.

But DW! He's getting the help and support he deserves 👍 I hope that answered your question

Ablaze stops his wilting, glancing over at Chaz. Who was laying down next to him. It had been about 13 years since him and Branch met Chaz and 6 years since they separated. But he remained a good friend.

"Who?"

Chaz glared at the troll who was practically throwing himself on their- on Branch.

"That guru guy."

Life of a bounty hunter, and the only Jazz troll at that, taught him to always trust his instincts. Every counter hunter knew that, it was a rule they all knew.

Ablaze looked over at the two trolls, and sure enough. Creek was leaning more into Branch, as he was almost dragged across the clearing.

"Creek? Why?"

Chaz bites his lip, feeling his bun come undone, letting his hands quickly fix his hair as he continued to glare at Creek.

"My senses are going off." Is all he had to say to make Ablaze understand.

Ablaze tensed up, slowly turning to him, "How bad is it?" Chaz hummed as he finished tying his bun back up again. "It's.... it's okay for now. Just that....Creek seems a bit......"

Obsessive over Branch. Sure, he knows how the two met, but still. And the act infront of him would have been cute if they were still trollings. But now....Branch is almost 16, this behavior was a bit concerning with how.....close Creek was becoming.

Nothing wrong with a crush, of course. Every troll had their own way of showing affection. He remembers the times he would give a love touch to Ablaze here and there, just small caresses.

But with Creek....it felt like he was marking Branch. He noted how Creek was almost 17 himself, almost an adult and yet he still didn't know how to behave.

It worried Chaz. And it soon started to worry Ablaze as he kept a close eye on his features.

"Chaz...."

He places a hand ontop oh his, giving it a squeeze. Chaz breaks out of his thoughts, looking over at Ablaze.

"I think....we should keep a closer eye on the two, especially around Creek." He mumbles as he sits up. Ablaze nods, "Yeah, yeah you're right. Uh....so I was thinking that maybe for his 16th hatch day we do..."

Ablaze's voice drowned out in the background as Chaz stared towards where the two went.

'I won't let anyone hurt my boy.' Is all Chaz thought about, before he was brought back to earth.
