Theme: Mimicking movement.
Phototaxis Apparatus
– the locomotory movement, that occurs when a whole organism moves towards or away from stimulus of light.
The one thing, I think, the museum lacks is movement. Movement is difficult. For example: it is a difficult thing to display animals, creatures that by their very nature are moving things, without caging them in, of course. Stones and bones are by their nature, very still things, luckily to the benefit of science. Plants are somewhere in between, moving slowly outside the human interim perception, but within the empirical line of vision.
Movement is difficult to mimic, but what if we pay attention to a movement principle, more than the movement itself?
This is a new model for trying to explain phototaxis – the locomotory movement, that occurs when a whole organism moves towards or away from stimulus of light.

The last assignment of the semester was to make an app:
The Web and the City
The assignment was to make an app that explored how we interact with our city and the networks and technology in it.
We chose to work with Public health and City Safety.
We soon found out that, although there is a lot of services that provide city safety and guard our homes, the most dangerous place isn’t in the streets at night or in dark alleys, but inside our homes. 70% of all violence is taking place within close relations. Domestic violence is a huge problem.
There is already a competent network in Oslo that takes care of victims of domestic violence (Oslo krisesenter), but they have problems reaching out to the victims, especially those who are victims of psychological abuse. And this results in people living in violent relations for years before they get help. We wanted to help people to get in touch with Oslo krisesenter sooner.
That meant that we had to make a service to inform people about the different forms of violence, confront them with their own situation and give them an easy access way to Oslo krisesenter. The app contains definitions of violence followed by check lists, a journal and infographics and a chat service.
Our group consisted of Marte Rennemo, Hanna Tørstad, Emma Wind and Einar Thomassen Lukerstuen. Allthough our concept took us into a world that was really dark and heartbreaking, we witnessed the heroic and inspiring efforts by Oslo krisesenter and others, working every day to help people in desperate need.

SOME MYSTERIOUS PATH OF REMORSE

This is a map based on several tags saying “Im sorry” on different walls on my way to school. When you hover the cursor over the red dots on the “path” you get to see a picture and a small text. These apologies have most likely been put up by some poor bastard who has done something really bad to his girl. The thing is, that my sympathy for this person gets less for every new tag i find. There is seven tags and I imagine that he is guilty of some seven deadly sins. Later on I have found out that it is a lot more than seven of these apologies. I hope he learned his lesson.
