For me, censorship laws are a lot like the death penalty. There are people I wish would die, but I don't want the government to have any say over who lives or dies (because then they can stretch laws out to justify killing someone they dont like). There are stories that I think are reprehensible and should have never been written, but I don't want the government to have any say over which stories are reprehensible (because then they can stretch out what they deem wrong out to fit anything they don't like)

Yesterday I went to a vigil for yet another murdered Black trans woman here in Washington DC, victim of a hate crime. Dream Johnson should still be here, and her family shouldn’t be mourning her loss. Her family said they wanted her to be known worldwide, that they didn’t want her to be erased like so many other Black trans women’s deaths. So here, as long as this site is up, we will say her name and remember her: DREAM.

Below is an article I've written that speaks more about how trans people of color, especially Black and Hispanic trans women, suffer in our current society. It also contains modified non-religious versions of Cole Arthur Riley's Black Liturgies, as I know a lot of trans and queer folks have Issues around religion and spirituality.

this kind of attitude is genuinely frightening to me. the idea that humans have some special *humanity* inherent to us is most useful to people trying to justify violence to some kind of dehumanized Other. like who the fuck show up to a post about a trans allegory, one infamous for its visceral depiction of transmisogynistic violence, and start fantasizing about which fictional minorities they want to to kill. trans women are women you're ALLOWED to hit. they're women YOU'RE allowed to hit. do you fucking get it?
