I drew this from a reference (included), a pic I found on FB. I just thought it was pretty and wanted to see what I could reasonably do. I know the leaves/tree are butt, it is a skill issue as well as a lack of patience. I've been struggling to complete it due to mental and physical health reasons over the course of the month. I wanted to do the mountain in the background but felt I would ruin what I managed to accomplish and opted just to finish as is. Short snoot and butt trees aside, I'm happy with it and its definitely an approvement from where I was to now. I hope to eventually graduate from graphite to pen eventually.

Please tell me what you think! I welcome critiques.

Hey, everyone! I've been given the thought of making a website for the blog. So all the resources that I've been listing and classifying can be found easily by pressing the button.

New Things:

1. Visibility

I can find more resources for you so you can find other blogs that love to share this knowledge and help you improve as an artist.

2. Organization

Easier to find the resources in your markers on Google. Even when I needed to use this post for a project, I had to search by the tag and find the right now I need in that moment.

3. New Sections

New sections can be created for example: Websites or Blogs about how to use Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, Blender 3d... Others!

Because there are lots of people who know these tricks to learn and use that kind of software.

4. Donations

Also, I've been considering that I've been doing a lot of work to make this blog for the last few years. And especially when I've been doing this last post with the resources while I was with the job I keep doing, my personal life matters, and my art career.

So I'm really saying that you would send donations

like 1/2$ in my Ko-fi. Would be really kind of you.

A new viewpoint on antlers reveals the evolutionary history of deer (Cervidae, Mammalia)

something i've wanted to do for a while now. i've scoured the internet for something like this and can't find anything that compares all the different types of antlers together. except one recent study on their evolution, which is also very interesting on its own! i simplified it to provide a visual reference, while still trying to be scientifically accurate. some things differ between this and trophy scoring terminology like where the beam is and whatnot, so if something looks weird that's why.

small additional note, this study and others provide a lot of evidence that eld's deer should be in their own genus as it doesn't appear similar enough to barasingha and schomburgk's deer. however this doesn't seem to be adapted anywhere yet, so they're still in Rucervus for this guide.
