I think one of the biggest problems of the fandom (in terms of the sides) is falling for character facade and over exaggerating character traits/making up character traits based on a singular occurrence. Like;

“Logan has no feelings.”

LOUD INCORRECT BUZZER

“Patton is a sweet, innocent, angel bean that would never do anything wrong.”

Like, I get it if it’s an au; but when you base it off canon, you gotta try to understand the character. Not saying to have spend hours digging deep into the character’s personality or whatever, I just think you should try to see more than what’s on the outside. AND STOP MAKING CRAP UP ABOUT THEM AND EXAGGERATING CERTAIN THINGS ABOUT THEM THAT WOULD COMPLETELY CHANGE/RUIN THEIR CHARACTER WHEN EXAGGERATED OTHERWISE- THIS ISN’T THE 2018 SANDERS SIDES GACHA COMMUNITY

Now to actually talk about how important bucks queerness is to me.

when i started watching 911 it was something i did with my mom. and i found buck to be my favorite character because he felt tangible to me. he felt like a character i could relate to. we both went by different names (mine being because im trans but that’s not the point). we both were loud, energetic, and flirty. we both resort to humor in times of hardship, and we have a lot of people looking out for us.

buck reminded me so much of myself so i started headcanoning him as queer. i figured, much like many tv shows had done, i was getting baited. i felt delusional, but he was a character i saw myself in so i figured what was the harm?

him now being canonically bi feels like a huge win. it feels healing to have a whole fandom be heard. i’m so proud of my boy even if he’s fictional. thank you abc. it really is the little victories.
