I get to the door with the golden claw. Confidently, I begin spinning the combination. I have done this countless times. Surely I will remember. I move the symbols, but doubt begins to set in. I frown. No… There’s no way… I remember. Surely I remember. … Don’t I? Of course I do… But no. I don’t. The combination escapes me like a whispering breeze across the tree tops: caressing the leaves and then gone forever. In a feverish haze, I open my inventory and zoom in to see the combination. I mutter it under my breath. Of course. How could I have possibly forgotten? So silly of me. I’ll remember next time.

Ohh, Akatosh...

Honestly, I just couldn't complete the quests with the Apocrypha. My computer always crashed. I just open the book, see Miraak and the Seekers, and that's it... No console works, everything just freezes...In the end, I never finished that quest line. I hope to change my computer and maybe come back to this part.

But that's not the point.

This post is about how grateful I am to Tumblr for all the fanfiction and brain candy. They make the fight against Miraak a little bittersweet now. I think that man is way too charming (the first Dragonborn for the last).

Game Theory: Astrid is either dumb AF (as Farkas) or playing 4d chess.

Astrid asks you to hide in the Night Mother's coffin while you spy on Cicero, because 'he'd never think to look in there'. Think about this for more than three seconds and it doesn't make any sense.

Cicero is the keeper. It's his job to tend to the Night Mother, which obviously involves opening her coffin for rituals and such regularly, and presumably Astrid knows this.

This leaves us with a few options: A: Astrid has a brain the size of a flipping Nirnroot (Likely) B: Astrid assumes Cicero is terrible at his job (How dare she??!) C: (My personal favourite) Astrid knows that Cicero will open the coffin, and knows he will blow up in your face, destroying any sympathies you had for him. Then of course she comes in and saves you from him, and you become loyal to her for life. (How convenient)

What she doesn't expect is for you to be named Listener, and Cicero essentially worshipping you, which ruins her plan and ultimately her life.

I love the college of winterhold. everyone there is casually deranged and there's like an alarming number of students and staff who threaten you immediately when they meet you. it's always one of the first questlines I do. which makes it even funnier when you get made the arch-mage of the college. I'm level 12 and got through this questline knowing exactly 3 spells. what do you mean you want me to lead the college. this school CANNOT be an accredited institution

I am the kind of person who will play through the College of Winterhold or the Arcane University and feel disappointed that there wasn't an actual class schedule where you had to study magic
