that makes a lot of sense to me. if I remember correctly, when he went on that trip after season 8 finished he posted a picture of himself in a pool/beach, from the back just kind of flexing, and wrote something like "finally I feel like I'm back to myself" or something like that. I thought because of the interviews maybe he had a period where he felt like he wasn't doing what he thinks he should be doing. he sounded (to me) kind of down, tbh. maybe it's over.

I'm not getting my hopes up about ryan working out so much because he got so muscly for s6 and then the whole season he didn't even have a shirtless scene

Actually wait, do we think he got so muscly for s6 for the stunts in the lightning strike episode?? Did he have to do a lot of physical stuff in s6?

Anyway, i think ryan has really high standards for his body condition (i think being a model really affected him) and even though he looks fit all the time he still made self-deprecating comments like "i haven't been in the gym in ages" it's like he doesn't feel that good about himself if he's not absolutely looking as good as he knows he can

And i think the working out definitely seems like a self-discipline routine thing he's practising for his mental health too. Getting home after a long day, feeling sad his kids aren't there, he could sit down with some alcohol and doom scrolling on his phone all night or something, but instead he chooses to workout. I also think that's why he put the "thank you god" caption. He's being grateful he was able to stick to his goals.

That’s definitely one way to put it. I wonder what the actual reason is he’s working out so much?

We don't know what kind of relationship they have, we only know they are able to work together pretty intimately. Whatever it is, they are able to be professional about it.

I wouldn't read too much into Oliver's social media and interviews, to be honest. I know he leans into his "above all the nonsense, wish I was off grid in a van with my dogs in the desert" schtick but I don't buy it. IMO this man is hyper aware of what's going on in the fandom. and he is meticulously curating a very specific image for himself. I think he is afraid of the fans, he was burned before. If he were to follow Lou, or post pictures of him, or talk positively about bucktommy, a chunk of this fandom will come after him, and he knows that. he is well aware of his status as the fandom's sweetheart, and he wants to maintain it.

Maybe he doesn’t like BuckTommy and Lou. I don’t know. 🤷

he continues to agree to the bucktommy story and gets paid immensely so as long as he can act convincingly, and he can, i genuinely don’t care what he likes, to be honest.
