I need to talk about this. Trump saying "illegal aliens" is so fucking disgusting and so very intentional. In his entire sentence he does not ONCE say the words People, Person, or Human. Not once. Because he wants you to forget that immigrants are people, that transgender people are people, that prisoners are people, that Kamala Harris is a person, that leftists are people. It is so disgusting how easy it is for him to revoke empathy from groups of people so easily. If you forget that he wants to up-end the lives of real, living, breathing, feeling, human people, it is so much easier for him to have power. Removing humanity from humans happens all the fucking time.

When men say "females" instead of "women" they are taking away the humanity of women so they can justify hating them. To justify taking away the rights of half of the population. To justify having power based on the suffering of others.

For generations -and still today- white people didn't say "black people" or "African people" they said a slur. To revoke an entire group of people's humanity and rights. Instead of "trans people", we hear a slur. Instead of "gay people", we hear a slur. The people who gain power from the dehumanization of other human beings will find any way to substitute the word "person" for some other arbitrary noun.

Language shapes the way we think, and if we let ourselves forget that we are talking about humans when we are talking about humans, EVERYONE is in danger. Be mindful.
