i'm worried that palestinian fundraisers have been slowing dramatically the past few weeks because people think their goal numbers are 'a lot of money', and ignore them.
so, as the one-year mark of this ongoing genocide approaches, i'd ask you to think seriously about how much money it costs just to keep yourself alive for an entire year. $15,000? $10,000? could you live off just $5,000? for a whole year?
since losing his job and his house to the israeli bombing, mohammed iwais has been supporting his 27-person family on gofundme donations equivalent in total to about $50k USD, or roughly $1,852 per person.
i am asking you to think about the reality of what this means for a family undergoing repeated displacements, bullet wounds, other medical emergencies, and now homelessness—in an occupied country that is being brutally price-gouged and cut off from even basic humanitarian aid by military border blockades.
mohammed's fundraising goal has not yet been met, and he's going to update his gfm page to reflect that as soon as he gets a stable internet connection. until then, there's really only one question.
could you live off what the iwais family has raised so far?

Ezzideen lost 72 family members, including 45 in just one day at the beginning of the war.
We need to stand with Ezzideen and his family, supporting them both during and after the war to help them survive the current starvation.
Your share and donation mean more than you can imagine!
I remember that day very well. I wasn’t able to contact Ezzideen; there were no phone calls or internet. I tried to call for more than an hour, and when he finally answered, I couldn’t hold back my tears. It was one of the worst days of my life, if not the worst.

Palestine fundraisers with easily-achievable goals
Tumblr media
By "easily-achievable", I mean in the 50-60K range and below. Once again, drawing from my pinned list of fundraisers, which have all been vetted by Palestinians on Tumblr (check that post for the proof next to each family name). I'll update this post just like the main list and the "under 1000 donations" list. Many of these are extremely close to completing their funding. Let's help get them there!
As always, donate if you can, reblog if you can't!
LAST UPDATED 9/2
10K range
Aya's family Goal: 15K 2/3 funded
The Saftawi family Goal: 16K 3147 TO GO!
20K range
The Sami family Goal: 20K Half funded
Zaen and Yehya Goal: 25K 1/4 funded
The Ismaeel family Goal: 25K 1/3 funded
Ashraf's family Goal: 25K 4019 TO GO!
30K range
Ahmed's family Goal: 30K 1/3 funded
The Alnabih family Goal: 30K 4434 TO GO!
The Khalaf family Goal: 30K 2875 TO GO!
Issam Aziz's mother Goal: 30K 4053 TO GO!
Amira's family Goal: 39K 2/3 funded
40K range
The Hor family Goal: 40K Under 1/5 funded
The Abushammaleh family Goal: 40K 1/3 funded
The Shaqoura family Goal: 45K Half funded
The Aburass family Goal: 45K 1/4 funded
Note: The Aburass campaign is in SEK, so the goal is technically 450K, but converted to USD it's closer to 45. Ultimately I decided to include this one since USD, CAD, GBP, and EUR will be more powerful here, and a huge chunk of the site's user base will pay with one of those currencies. The more hands on deck, the better.
50K range
Amal's family Goal: 50K Under 1/5 funded
Walaa's family Goal: 50K 1/5 funded
The Shorbaje family Goal: 50K 1/3 funded
The Aldeeb family Goal: 55K 2/3 funded

Israel recycles the same justification and it's really obvious that this is one of those instances where they repeat a lie long enough in hopes it becomes truth.
So here I am repeating the obvious just so that this lie doesn't get normalised:
Israel is conducting airstrikes on shelters and displacement camps, a flagrant violation of international law.
These camps and shelters have always, always been in areas designated as "safe zones" by Israel. So even if Hamas members were doing backflips in the middle of the camp, that does not mean Israel can bomb an area it directed civilians to go to.
Though never, not once, was Israel able to prove that it had in fact killed Hamas members when it committed these massacres. Civilians who live in these areas have recorded their testimonies time and time again to say there has not been any Hamas activity around them.
Still, nothing justifies the bombing of schools turned shelters. Nothing. Nothing justifies using heavy artillery against tents made of fabric and plastic sheets. Absolutely nothing.
I have probably made a variation of this post 600 times in the past 11 months alone, but remember that repeating these Israeli "justifications" without challenging them only allows Israel to continue its crimes and prolongs this genocide that had already claimed the lives of way more than 50,000 Palestinians.

With skyrocketing prices and the constant threat of bombings everywhere, this family is struggling to survive. Every day presents a new challenge as the economic and security situation continues to deteriorate.
We are raising funds to support Reem’s family and give them a glimmer of hope in these difficult times. Your donation can make a significant difference in the lives of this small family facing overwhelming hardships.

A photo from memories, captured in May 2023.
Everyone has a superhero. For any girl in the world, her superhero is her father.
He is our hero. He is a doctor. Before this ongoing genocide, he worked at Al-Shifa Hospital. He is a wonderful plastic surgeon, loves his work and is committed to it, to help people and relieve their pain.
When We were forced to be displaced to Al-Shifa Hospital at the beginning of the war, he was still committed to his work. He worked nonstop for 40 days, besides caring for his family, especially in these difficult times!
But unfortunately the occupation stormed and burned the hospital after We were forced to evacuate , raising white flags. We could not carry anything, just our souls. We fled to the south on foot. He carried his two children in his arms, and walked long distances for many kilometers during the afternoon among tanks and heavily armed soldiers, and even among decomposing corpses!
Finally, we reached the UNRWA school at Khan Yunis. He started working in Nasser Hospital, which the occupation also stormed and destroyed! Even when we were displaced, he was working.
All that happened did not stop him from performing his lofty job as a doctor. He has now returned to work in MOH hospitals to carry out operations of debridement and grafting of needy injured people, but he is alone, we are far from him.
Tumblr media
He decided to protect us and made a decision to refuge in Egypt to be survived. While he stayed in Rafah before the beginning of the military operation there. Then he was forced to be displaced to Deir Al-Balah.
Every morning he goes to work at Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis and returns to his tent in Deir Al- Balah in the evening all week.
Tumblr media
Is this what we and he deserve?
We stay away from our hero and torn our family. While at the same time, he is putting himself in danger while saving innocent lives!
For your information, his profession is considered more dangerous than ever before, due to the occupation’s systematic policy of targeting hospitals and medical staff!
All the day, we are worried about him. May Allah save him. Moreover, there is no safe place.
We hope to reunite again, we want each other, we want our home and our dreams!
We need your help and support to meet our father again, reunite our family and rebuild our lives. Little matters! Your little means a lot to us.
Please, donate or reblog this with others.
Our story is here:
This was not our only tragic story in this genocide, every day was a struggle for survival!
Thanks!

It's with a heavy but hopeful heart that I watch Palestinian families fundraiser on here, slowly accumulating the precious little money to go around that they need to survive. However, not everyone is so lucky. A lot of Palestinians that have not had that kind of luck, that did not get early verification, that did not get massive platforms behind them from large bloggers, have approached me in my inbox, asking me kindly to do what I can for them. It kills me that I have so little to give myself, but I've seen this platform collectively raise enough to change someone's life. I've made a list of Palestinian fundraisers that are extremely low on funds, in the hope that drawing attention to people who have not been lucky at all can help turn that luck around. I know most of us can't possibly give enough to get all of these families safe in one go. But please, reblog this list. Pick one or two fundraisers, give what you can, and then keep track of it. Slowly, collectively, we can make a difference in these people's lives. Share and donate as much as you can. https://docs.google.com/document/d/178EGDFKkHlh3y4TMVX82kqgITHsqtoMdNccI2f_94Os/edit?usp=sharing

for the next couple days i'll be focusing on a handful of fundraisers that are very far away from their goals as of posting this. these were verified by @/mohameddd a palestinian in gaza right now who i speak with directly, i trust their legitimacy!
Hazem Al-Bardawil: Hazem's house was the target of an israeli airstrike on the 11th of october, his pregnant wife and children were martyred on that day and he was severely injured and left bed-ridden in intensive care for several days. he recently created this campaign to raise money for treatment and shelter. 0/£20,000
Mohammed Matar: Mohammed is a civil engineer, he's had to evacuate with his family several times from gaza city to the south then to rafah and so on in search of shelter and safety. his wife gave birth in february, and they're unable to find basic necessities for their newborn daughter like diapers or formula milk. €652/€20,000
Hazem Khalil's family: Hazem's family, consisting of his parents, his 4 brothers and his sister, live in the north of the gaza strip in jabalia refugee camp. Hazem is organizing this campaign to provide basic necessities for his family for the time being, and raising enough money to evacuate by the time the egyptian border opens. they've managed to reach their initial goal of €5,000 so far, which is enough to evacuate his younger brother, and he's aiming to raise another €5,000 by next sunday for his younger sister's evacuation. €5,204/€50,000
tomorrow i'll be posting another batch of fundraisers and i'll be following up with these few for now until they reach their goals inshallah

Palestinian tiktoker Medo Halimy was martyred yesterday. He was growing a garden and making "a day in the life" tiktoks while in Gaza. He was just 19 years old and now he's gone, but y'all wanna pretend that people wanting hard stances against genocide is some kind of moral superiority issue and not the fact that people are literally dying.
This is his family's gofundme that's still linked to his tiktok. Please send some help their way so they no longer have to lose more of their family.

I get it, I really do, but I feel like ppl w decision paralysis related to Gazans are also suffering from a kind of non-malignant egotism
"who do I decide to give it to? everyone needs help! I can't help them all!"
You're not the only person they're asking!!!!!
If you choose one person to help that day, a bunch of other ppl choose others
stopping to overthink your inflated importance as an individual versus one in many is what's giving you paralysis
the more you burden yourself as an incapable hero the less you all act as a group-- which is the exact answer you're looking for
fkn close your eyes, scroll on OOB and donate to whoever you click on first
you're not god, it's not your job to save everyone
JUST DO SOMETHING

‏Today's vetted fundraisers
Hello, I’m Farah. Since the war started on October 7th, my family and I have faced severe hardships. We first sought safety in Gaza but had to move to Khan Yunis on October 13th, where we lived in a cramped UNRWA shelter for three months with inadequate food, water, and sanitation. Despite being in a UNRWA facility, we endured bombings and a siege, leading to our evacuation.
Now in Al-Zawaida, we continue to suffer from constant explosions, lack of medical care, and high transportation costs. We're also dealing with poor air quality due to makeshift fuel solutions and health problems from cooking with firewood.
Please support us survive

Hey @staff @support since none of you answer my emails and I've apparently gotten post removed by tumblr because I made a post asking people to go through the proper channels to report genuine incitement of violence on tumblr.
I'd like to ask you why SWATTING is not against tumblr user guidelines. I need you to explain it to me like I'm 5 years old. Why is SWATTING allowed on tumblr. Is it not considered dangerous? Does some illegal activity get a pass on tumblr as long as the victims are Palestinian? Or is it the perpetrator you're protecting?
I'd like to know. Because I've sent 2 emails to Monica from support and I'm still waiting on an answer.
I keep getting canned responses. But we need actual ACTION. If we are wrong, tell us why. Give us a human response explaining this. Address this because it's getting ridiculous the lengths you're going to protect someone who is inciting violence on your site. Someone who is asking people to engage in illegal behavior which can and has put people in real physical danger.
Can I be any clearer?? We've tried to go through the official channels and we've only gotten canned responses. You say you don't want people spamming reports, but what choice do we have when presented with an extremely alarming situation that tumblr refuses to address??
Here are your user guidelines by the way in case you forgot:
Tumblr media
(ID in Alt)
Accusing Palestinians of being terrorists and asking people to report them to the FBI terrorism tip hotline where they could genuinely come to physical harm doesn't fall under the Hate Speech btw according to tumblr.
Tumblr media
(ID in Alt)
Asking people to call the FBI terrorist tip hotline on Palestinians, exposing them to the real possibility of police violence which could result in false imprisonment, serious injury, or death at the hands of law enforcement is NOT a violent threat towards individuals or groups btw according to tumblr. It doesn't encourage or incite violence.
Tumblr media
(ID in Alt)
Palestinians got anon messages like this en masse:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(ID in Alt)
I also sent you a follow up where this anonymous sender claimed prismatic-bell was influencing others to send these messages to Palestinian bloggers and their allies. I have no proof that these anons are the same person, but I certainly haven't heard anything from tumblr when I sent that information.
If it is true that these anons are the same person, and that prismatic-bell was influencing users to spam these hate messages at Palestinians, that would not count as a violation of guidelines on grounds of Harassment by tumblr btw <3
And lastly, this what my post got removed for.
Tumblr media
(ID in Alt)
And a reminder of what that post contained so you can compare and contrast:
Tumblr media
(ID in Alt)
My post is asking users to make use of a legitimate method of communication with tumblr staff. BTW the ability to reply to support tickets emails is an option YOU gave us. I didn't ask people to do something unheard of.
Tumblr media
(ID in Alt)
I did not ask people to follow me or bait follows or likes and reblogs. Where in my post does it even SAY that??? And I do not care. I don't want or need tumblr to reinstate my post. It can stay down. But I suspect the only reason it got taken down is because the user who reported it is someone you have a vested interest in protecting for some bizarre reason, in spite of them repeatedly endangering people.
This isn't even the first time they've done this. It is well documented at this point that this user has doxxed an indigenous person on their blog to their many followers, exposing their workplace and heavily hinting at which small indigenous tribe they belong to in order to subject them to real life harm. But according to tumblr, that doesn't go against Privacy Violations in the user guidelines.
Tumblr media
(ID in Alt)
You can keep ignoring my emails, but I will be emailing you in your dreams if you do not address this.
