@lokiusweek - Day 6: dreams
Like A Dream
Rating: gen
Status: complete
Word Count: 5,514
Tags: canon compliant, fluff, idiots in love, first kiss, accidental kissing, friends to lovers
Summary:
Mobius is utterly useless in the early hours of the day, just a shadow of a man who craves caffeine and walks into walls because he is barely able to keep his eyes open. Loki can't get enough of it all, way too amused by this daily spectacle. Until that one fateful morning when Mobius confuses dream with reality in his drowsy state and suddenly they end up much closer than Loki knows what to do with.

S2E2 Lokius moments
Tuxes date
They look so good. What I wouldn't pay to see Loki fix Mobius' bow tie as a callback. We were robbed of them preparing for the mission.
IKEA furniture
They'll never figure it out, but they'll have fun arguing over it anyway. Beloveds.
"I was following you"
Like a true Möbius strip, they're both running after each other in a loop, both in front and behind the other.
Pie date
Such softness. Loki has learned so much and reflects it all on supporting Mobius. An amazing scene, with Loki even eating the sweet pie they clearly hate.
Soft smiles
Look at these soft idiots. They are so in love.
"Mischief" date
When you love and accept all of your beloved, you'll encourage their whims. Even call it "festivities".
"And he knows"
And, boy, does Mobius know Loki. Such a simple, almost understated moment.
Mobius jealousy 2.0
This man is so jealous. "They say opposites attract. No."
Choosing to stay
Having Loki choose to stay with Mobius in contrast to running after Sylvie in S1 made me so feral. And that hand on the shoulder. Yup, we've seen that before. The parallels are paralleling.
Bonus: Loki's jealousy
There's several moments where Loki has this look in S2. This is the third time and I definitely read it as a twinge of jealousy at Mobius' interactions with others.

Lokius Week Day 3
S1 E1 - Glorius Purpose
Elo’s Fave Moment/s:
Ooh okay. This is a tough one to choose a favourite Lokius moment, because although their interactions are so compelling, there's no one particular moment that screams "THIS IS SHIPPY AF!" to me, if you know what I mean.
I think if I have to choose, it'd be their exchange at the very end. Loki finally being honest with Mobius. Not hiding the fact he's been crying; showing a touch of vulnerability. Mobius' "you do know yourself", as there's an undercurrent of genuine care. The, "A villain" "That's not how I see it" bit. Mobius tells Loki straight-up that he knows how complex he is, how much more he is than a mere token 'bad guy'. It's the first real conversation they've had.
Special (if more superficial) mentions go to Mobius' delight at meeting him, then putting an arm around him when they've known each other for all of three seconds... he's so real for that. "You're just a little pussycat," I mean come on. The affection in his voice when he says "mischievous scamp!", like Loki hasn't just freaking run off into the greater TVA. Mobius totally had a giddy fanboy crush going on, he was simply hiding it behind bravado.

Lokius Week 2025
Day Four
Today I’m finally going back to the series I started earlier in the year, To Live Anew, which I unfortunately began neglecting after only two entries due to preoccupation with bed-sharing prompts, lol.
But here’s the third instalment, finally, although there will be at least one other set before this one, whenever I get around to writing it.
This fills the Lokius Week prompt “Rainy Day”.

Lokius Week Day 4
S1 E2 - The Variant
Elo’s Fave Moment/s:
This was the definitive Lokius episode of season 1, so it's very difficult to choose only one favourite moment. I think if I had to choose it would be this teeny tiny, overlooked moment: their shared eagerness and excitement during that little exchange just after they get back from Pompeii (and also both of them being idiots in Pompeii because they're so silly and cute). I adored the whole vibe they had going on working as real partners on the case, and it's what we all wanted wayyyyy more of, let's be real.
Special mentions go to Loki falling asleep in front of Mobius (HELLO, so cuuuuute!!!), the scene following that where they have their philosophical conversation in the cafeteria, Mobius laughing at "Well I'd never do it again!", and of course the tie-fixing bit, if you ignore the fact they're still very antagonistic there. "He's doing great!" is also a highlight, lmao.
Look there's plenty more, but I'm supposed to be writing about my faves only, so I'll stop there!

Golden Magic.
Summary: Loki and Mobius visit a fair on Midgard.
Day Two of the Lokius Week 2025 @lokiusweek .
Prompt: Magic.
.........
Loki closed his eyes, trying to manage the flood of emotions overwhelming him. They had only taken a few steps, the portal barely closing behind them, but the sensation was staggering, as if he hadn’t stepped into a timeline but plunged into the warm, thick atmosphere of a summer evening. It intoxicated him, unraveling his thoughts and opening a path to distant memories. After the darkness and solitude, moments like these felt more magical than all the magic holding the timelines together.
Mobius noticed the expression on his face and, with a gentle smile, took Loki’s hand.
“You okay?” the man asked, just to be sure. Loki nodded. He couldn’t shake the feeling that he was in several places at once. The smell of sweet smoke from countless bonfires, the scent of dry grass and dust, the glint of sunlight on the walls. The noise of the fairground crowd wasn’t irritating but felt unexpectedly fitting. Loki remembered his childhood, holding his mother’s hand as they listened to old ballads. She smiled at the common folk, and beside her, Loki felt so at ease.
The god stole a glance at Mobius. The agent had been acting suspiciously back at the TVA, and Loki suspected he was planning some kind of surprise. He smiled, recalling the popcorn. If Mobius had managed to feed him something odd even during a mission, today was a day to stay on guard.
“Mobius, where exactly are we going?” Loki asked, though he didn’t expect an answer—he knew Mobius was skilled at keeping secrets.
The agent winked at him.
“I told you last time we were at the fair in a rush, and I didn’t get to show you the best parts…”
Loki gave in. They walked past rides, and the god closed his eyes for a few seconds, simply basking in the warmth of the evening, filled with heat, noise, and scents. Everything was almost too perfect.
A sudden wave of unreality hit him. He stopped, as if stumbling over an invisible barrier. For a moment, he thought he heard the creak of branches and the quiet hum of billions upon billions of living, mortal beings. Loki shook his head. Mobius was already at his side. The sound that triggered the association turned out to be the creak and groan of a poorly lubricated ride’s gears.
“Loki? Everything okay? I’m right here. Look at me.”
The god blinked. Mobius was holding his hand, and though people passed by, no one paid them any attention.
“Let’s just stand here for a bit, alright?” Mobius said. “We’re in no rush. If you want, we can head back home anytime.”
“I’m fine,” Loki replied. “It just… hit me. Sorry. And you don’t need to fuss over me, Mobius. We’re here for another round of burnt popcorn, and I’m not about to miss my chance to mock the local food…”
Loki knew his voice sounded unnatural, and his bravado came off as pitiful. But Mobius pretended not to notice.
“I won’t let you mock the local cuisine,” he said. “I’m sure you’ll come around to the charm of Cracker Jack eventually.”
Loki snorted. The feeling of emptiness receded, but Mobius still held his hand.
“Fine, you’ve convinced me,” Loki grumbled. “Let’s go before the Midgardians buy up all the cotton candy or whatever adventure awaits us today…” he said, his voice deliberately upbeat.
Mobius gave him a careful look and, before letting go of his hand, quietly reminded him, “Everything’s okay, Loki.”
Loki nodded silently. Words weren’t needed—they both knew that despite their endless bickering and grumbling, they loved each other and could sense each other’s moods. Mobius was here, with him and for him, ready to help at any moment. After an eternity spent in emptiness and solitude, Loki finally felt he wasn’t alone.
The episode passed, and the world now seemed even brighter and more wondrous. The magic of the moment intensified. For a while, Loki felt a slight dizziness, as if drunk, but it soon faded.
They reached the far end of the square, where the crowd was thinner, and the music was softer than at the entrance.
Loki realized where they were headed and couldn’t help but laugh. By the gods, Mobius couldn’t seriously be taking him there.
“Mobius, don’t tell me you want to throw darts!” Loki said, stifling his laughter. “Are you trying to win yourself… a panda?”
Mobius grinned.
“Even better, darling. I’m going to win that panda for you.”
Loki skeptically eyed the enormous plush creature hanging by the stall. The panda’s eyes were mismatched, and the overly enthusiastic manufacturers had sewn on an absurdly long tail.
Mobius had already grabbed the darts, handing coins to the stall owner. Loki was certain the darts were poorly balanced.
Mobius smiled and threw the first dart, aiming for the gaudiest target. He missed by a good eight inches, the dart embedding itself in the wall. Loki didn’t even notice how they both got caught up in the game, with him teasing Mobius. Within ten minutes, the god was aiming at the target himself. He could’ve used magic to guide the dart perfectly, but that would’ve been unfair.
Mobius threw another dart and, to his own surprise, hit the center of the farthest target. The stall owner clapped, reaching for the prize.
“That’s some rare luck, mister!” he exclaimed. “No one’s won the big toy in two months!”
Mobius looked at Loki with such a triumphant expression…
For some reason, Loki knew he’d remember this moment forever. Above the tent housing the game, ropes adorned with flags were strung up. Mobius held the massive, ridiculous-looking plush panda. The sun had nearly set, but a pleasant evening awaited them.
Mobius handed the toy to Loki with the air of someone presenting a true trophy.
“I won this in fierce battle, my prince!” he said, bowing dramatically.
Loki reached for the toy, tempted to say, that they both looked like idiots carrying it. But Mobius’s face glowed with such joy. He brushed the trickster’s hand, lingering just a moment longer than necessary. Loki smiled.
This moment was brimming with magic, a kind beyond the reach of Asgard’s gods. Loki felt it with his entire being. The smell of smoke, the silly toy, Mobius’s chatter about trying Midgardian ice cream next… Mobius created this moment for him, infusing the evening with a remarkable energy that made it all feel special.
Loki recalled how the branches glowed in his hands. The green light that held all life, billions of stories, lives, and fates. Mobius took his hand and squeezed it gently. It was warm and soft, and with a bit of imagination, Loki could picture that warmth radiating from Mobius’s hand, glowing with the same light as the magic that revived the timelines.
Loki pressed his lips together to keep from crying. Perhaps it was the lingering effects of trauma, or maybe he hadn’t fully recovered from everything he’d been through. But here and now, he was happy, his head spinning slightly in a pleasant way. They were nearing the ice cream vendors.
“Mobius?”
“Yeah?” The man turned. “Everything okay?”
Loki nodded and said, “Just… thank you.”
“For the toy?” Mobius asked, clearly expecting a trick. “Didn’t think Asgardian gods were into that sort of thing.”
Loki rolled his eyes.
Mobius laughed his soft laugh, the one that always warmed Loki’s heart. The god wanted to say thank you for this evening, for this magic, for the warmth and light.
“The panda’s awful,” Loki said quietly. “But…”
Mobius squeezed his hand. Loki suddenly realized words weren’t necessary - that was Mobius’s magic, too. He understood Loki without words, could read his mood.
“Not another word, Your Godliness,” Mobius said gently. “Come on, or someone’s going to cut us in line for ice cream.”
Loki nodded and smiled, lips pressed together. Mobius held his hand, and when Loki closed his eyes, he could see Mobius’s imagined golden magic enveloping them both, stronger than anything the god of stories could muster.
And at the center of that imagined golden glow was an ordinary man who had just won a ridiculous panda bear for his god.
He handed Loki a scoop of vanilla ice cream and smiled.

Lokius Week 2025
Day Seven
My final contribution for the “free day” of Lokius Week is filling one of the additional prompts, “I thought I’d lost you.” No surprises that I latched right onto the angsty one, lol.
Thank you so much for everyone’s support, both of my silliness and of the event, and a HUGE thanks to the organiser of @lokiusweek, it’s been a blast, and you’re amazing! 💚🧡
