A grin curled up his lips when he stepped back to let him in. "That's nice, though you haven't visited much before the kids got all the attention either."

"Haymitch?" River was standing at his door her arms wrapped around herself against the cold.

"River?" Haymitch furrowed his brows, slowly walking over to the door. He had had a few drinks too many already and tried to walk as straight as possible. "Is that really you? River Song? What are you doing out here in 12?” He huffed.

He started to rub his temple, reaching on the table and pulling his hand back once he remembered that his glas was gone. "I am not... too arrogant. She should realise that I have been down there already and only try to help? How can this be my fault?"

OPEN

He shrugged, leaning back and filling his glas calmly with the clear liquid before taking a deep sip. "I won't make you, though I could think that Katniss would react worse if she found it out on her own sooner or later... I'm just sayin'."

"Haymitch please don’t make me. Please I don’t know what to say because I don’t think hey Katniss my dad tortured your boyfriend so bad that now he wants to kill you will cut it." Gwen ran a hand through her hair and whispered. "You should’ve seen what they did to him."

"Haymitch?" River was standing at his door her arms wrapped around herself against the cold.

"River?" Haymitch furrowed his brows, slowly walking over to the door. He had had a few drinks too many already and tried to walk as straight as possible. "Is that really you? River Song? What are you doing out here in 12?" He huffed.

"Well... good luck figuring out for sure, Gotta hope you meet her in a pleasant moment, don't you? 'Cause i am not her mentor anymore, if you may noticed."

"I can’t tell her that. Your her mentor, you do it. Besides if I make Katniss upset that will just give Gale one more reason to kill me."

He nodded, slowly calming down again. "Then do the best you can for him so he gets well soon. And... you explain all of this Katniss. I am not ready to have my head ripped off for this yet."

"He's in with some doctors. But....he's not the same." Gwen bit her lip. "He's out for blood right now. I'm so sorry. I've been the only one who can calm him down. No one can visit him right now."

"And what exactly makes you think she likes me?" He huffed, furrowing his brows. "Was it angry expression she always wears around me or all the times she insulted me?"

OPEN

"If you would have noticed... we don't." He huffed, reaching for his scotch glas. "And I can't mentor her if she doesn't want to be mentored."

OPEN

"I tried my best to get all of them out there and it is not my fault how things have gone, since, oh would you have guessed, I was sober that day!" He spat out angrily. He knew the plan hadn't worked too well, though he didn't like at all to be blamed for it. "Whatever..." He muttered, turning away. "Where is he now?"

OPEN

"And who’s fault was that? Oh yeah it was your drunken ass. I’m just glad you were sober enough to get Katniss and Finnick out of there." Gwen shook her head. "I can live with the people here hating me Haymitch, I’m not a little girl anymore I had to grow up."

"If it would have worked well, he wouldn't have been there in first place."

OPEN

"How is it not working? He’s here, he’s not dead!"

"My plans usually just get ignored by you and our lovely Miss Everdeen. You know the plan. There hasn't changed much."

OPEN

"And, well... I told you from the beginning on that it wouldn't work. Face it, Gwen. This is reality."

"I told you not to do it.”

"'cause the alcohol ban worked so well last time..." he muttered more to himself than to her. Things had turned out a lot worse than originally expected. "And we still don't have a plan. Great day."

"You won't anyway. I have never asked you to and yet you do it and you will continue doing it since you are just as bad as me, if not worse. The diffrence is you are trying to help me, the lost case of the three from district 12.", he stated.

"Tiny. Little. Elfes." he said sarcastically. "And you don't act like it's a big deal, I sleep on my desk for years and years already. It's nothing that you bring me to bed every now and then, what i never asked you to, anyway."

"You're going quite fast from murder to undressing..."
