There are Signs All Around You. You just need to be willing to look
When a person begins their practice with divination, spirituality, or simply trying to be more responsive to the world around them, they begin to notice things. By these things, I mean signs- something you see or that happens that a person wants to have a perfectly valid explanation for, but can’t; aside from the fact that they see it and it happened. Now, everyone has a different meaning for their signs based on their beliefs. Some will chalk it up to a mundane meaning, others will tie it in to their own religion. And when it comes to signs, they are all valid.
In my personal life I have experienced these signs that seemed mundane at the time, but with their repetition, they seem further from that. In one instance, I began dating someone my senior year of high school. Within that very first week of being official, I had been in a car accident of my doing (no one was hurt except for a poor left turn sign) and it has resulted in my car being totaled. I thought nothing of it being a sign for obvious reasons, and proceeded to date the guy for 4 months. Until I discovered he was cheating on me with the friend that introduced us. Who funnily enough, after I totaled my car, ended up being my ride to school for the rest of the year.
Later on, about a year ago. I had an old friend of mine get back with her ex who was not a good person to say the least. On their first date for ‘redemption,’ they too got in a car accident (again, no one was hurt except some car bumpers) and her car was also totaled since the accident had bent the frame. We joked about how similar the situations were and how to take note of things like that in the future.
In his blog, Leo Carver, a certified lifestyle and perfect health instructor with a Bachelors in Psychology, discusses the importance of repetition when it comes to signs. He writes “the universe is not subtle. When a message is sent, it is meant to be heard loud and clear. Just because we don’t get it at first doesn’t mean that it’s not there.” Now, the two situations I described happened to me and a friend of mine, but not to me by myself. However, this is how signs present themself.
They may not seem very direct but they do happen. In this case, the universe was displaying a way it will tell me when a romantic endeavor may not turn out for the better and could possibly end up in me getting hurt. I recall a time with another ex of mine while we were on a date. We were walking down the sidewalk to go get ice cream and witnessed a fender bender in the road we were walking along. A car had tried to get around another and ended up scraping the side of the car they were maneuvering around. 2 weeks later, I had broken up with him because I had discovered he was not the person I had believed him to be. By this time, I had the confirmation I needed to see he was not a match and felt in my gut that it was not going to work out, which I made peace with.
Leo quotes in his blog that “Once you begin to recognize and engage with the signs around you, remember that you have the power to see whatever you want to see.” In my experience, I now take note of occurrences like that. Hopefully they do not always appear to me in car accidents as I do prefer the safety of others when receiving messages.
I want you to take a moment and recall any strange happenings in your life that seemed to have no correlation. Like my new relationship senior year and a car accident 4 days later. Do you remember any significant events like this? Did you possibly get sick right after you started a new job (another sign that happened to me when I started a job that turned out to be very a unhealthy environment. How ironic.)? Did you dream about something that seemed very realistic and normal, then have something almost exactly like it occur not too long after? Have you gotten that gut feeling that you needed to stop doing something or start doing something, then find it to greatly benefit you? Those all could be signs.
Opening your mind up to these sings can increase your intuition and connection with the world around you. However you believe these signs are making their way towards you, understand and be open to the fact that they are. They come as warnings or beacons of light or possibly just to be a little nudge in the right direction. Leo describes more on how to be open to signs. If you wish to begin your own research on the subject, I will link his blog at the end. Just remember that signs are happening around you. Take note of what you believe they are and how they come to you. Over time, they will get clearer and clearer and you will eventually be able to perceive them as they happen.
