i love being an artist because i started seeing every day objects as great art references and then i started seeing strangers on public transport as great art references and then i started seeing the way the light falls into my bedroom every evening as great art reference and then the way my roommate’s hair curls in humid weather and the way my qpp looks when he’s asleep and the way my friend laughs at me when i accidentally do something stupid and. eventually i found that everything is a great art reference. everything is art. the mere existence of the universe is art! and isn’t there nothing greater than being able to be part of this all? to be able to live and experience everything? to be art?

i've seen quite a bit of confusion about this, so let me attempt to clear things up :

empathy is the ability to feel somebody's emotions as though they are affecting you personally. for example, somebody tells you "my dog died last night!" -> you now feel as though you've lost a pet personally -> you feel grief and sadness just like the other person. not everyone has empathy. it's a trait some people develop and others don't. some have high empathy, some have low empathy, some (like me) have none.

sympathy is the ability to understand and care about somebody else's struggles, even if you don't feel them yourself. so, somebody tells you their dog died -> you realize how this affects them emotionally -> you care about this person, and are upset that they are suffering. not everyone has sympathy either! it's a scale, just like empathy.

compassion is doing something to relieve another person's suffering or make them feel better. somebody tells you their dog died -> you don't want them to remain upset -> you come up with ways to help them feel better, like offering comfort and distractions, or other forms of support. compassion is a learned trait, not something you can be born with like empathy or sympathy. anyone can learn to be compassionate, although some may struggle more with it than others; it's a skill, just like anything else.

however, none of these are required to be a good person. that's a choice you make on your own accord. i hope this clears things up!

it's always "i don't judge !!" until a person is a therian or just nonhuman in general, their religion is something they don't agree with or don't see as a "real or valid" religion [like satanism or autotheism], they identify with xenogenders and use "weird" pronouns, they have a "cringy" style like emo, scene, goth, or harajuku fashion, they're disabled, they act childish and age regresses, they have extreme intrusive thoughts, they have "odd" interests, they don't have proper hygiene because of poor mental health, their identity "doesn't make any sense", they're "too fat" or "too skinny", or they're just "not attractive". stop cherry picking, you can't claim "you don't judge" when you can't accept these people. be better. /srs

“art is a luxury” is such a disgustingly capitalist concept. the need to make and engage with art, to have beauty and creation, is absolutely fundamental to humans. art should be a human right.

Can people please just use aspec if they mean people who are on the aro and/or ace spectrum. Aroace is it's own label, there are aroallos and alloaces and non-sam aros and non-sam aces that all would like to have their identities ignored and shoved back under aroace and then erased because they aren't both ace and aro.

Please, I am begging you. We have had that label for so long, stop doing that.
