In Episode 9 of the original Transformers cartoon, the Cons get crafty and build a machine that doesn’t work but kinda does, Spike meets a girl that I think never gets a name, the Seekers are all treacherous bastards, Wheeljack is a huge asshole and several people get dramatically thrown off a temple.

one tiny thing i ridiculously love about the Bumblebee movie is that

i feel like the whole G1 ‘Wheeljack’s ear things light up’ thing has been brushed aside as one of those “silly 80s/G1 things” that are “hard/silly to translate into modern interpretations”

like you never see them again after G1, except maybe TFA and a few comic lines; we see similar designs but they never light up or flash

and then… enters Travis Knight “lmao let’s light these bitches up we go full G1 or we go home folks”

I love the transformers franchise because you can say things like “Starscream killed Dwayne the Rock Johnson” and it‘s cannon in at least one continuity
