as we go into the my policeman era please please please remember to give david and emma the credit they deserve, as well as all the other actors! as a harry fan ik a lot of us maybe got into the film or book because of his involvement, but the book is such a beautiful material to work off of and i know emma and david also worked incredibly hard, so let's remember them and give them as much attention as we do harry!
“Tom’s version of acceptance is a pretty depressing one I think, to deny this part of himself for a really long time and I think it’s a quiet acceptance between him and Marion that it just won’t be discussed. For me, the reason why the story is so devastating is because ultimately, to me, the whole story is about wasted time. And wasting time is the most devastating thing.”
"I think there's so much nuance to them and so much complexity that comes to people in real life around sexuality and finding themself, all of that kind of stuff."
“Around sex in particular and sexual relationships being shrouded and kind of fear for a man in that time, for tom for example, fear and shame and all these things, you don’t necessarily know that much about if you don’t encounter other homosexual men in that time."
“For someone like tom, it’s all of his feelings towards men, I would imagine, feel so foreign and so, yeah I think just any time it’s that complex and you’re getting to play with actual nuanced kind of human emotions, it’s really nice."
