“I went to a school for mutants. They taught me control so I wouldn’t you know accidentally do stuff. And to not expend too much energy doing things. The rest is just me, practicing.” Magical abilities? One thing to consider it, another to have someone else confirm it. It made it even more real.
Sitting down Billy noted the cloak but honestly not the most strange thing he’d seen. Especially considering his school. Curious he picked up the cup, only to have a familiar aroma hit his nose. The tea his mom would make whenever he had a rough day. Cautiously he took a sip. Perfect temperature and everything. “Wow, this is pretty cool.”
As for the thing that tried to eat him. “If it eats magic, how are we supposed to send it back?” He hesitated considering the options. “The professor called me a Reality Shaper. Maybe I can wish it home?” Of course if it went wrong he might accidentally bring more here instead. Or make this its home.
School for mutants, that would imply that the boy was under the tutelage of one Charles Xavier. Stephen tapped a finger against his chin as he inspected the young magic-user. He’s going to have to figure out what kind of abilities he has. Probably a couple of tests would be able to determine those.
Watching him take the cup, he sat down across from Billy. A gesture between them and a gentle nod. “Just looking out for the generation of our future, and it seemed like you needed that after all the running you’ve been doing tonight.” Stephen smiled. The boy seemed to enjoy whatever drink he found within the cup.
“Reality shaper. Fascinating.” Leaning back in his chair, he pulled a leg over the other, loosening the cloak’s tie. It wiggled its way out from under Stephen and floated away for a moment before returning with a book. Dropping it in Strange’s lap. Taking it, he pets the cloak’s’ corner. “Thank you.” Opening it up a couple of pages in. “Are you able to wish things into existence. That might be how it got here, a tear opened up and it passed through. I will show you how to send it back. It’s a simple spell and I’ll be right by your side.” He held out the book for Billy to take. “Take a look at that and see if you can do this spell.”

Carol quickly walks over to get him some water, coming back with a hand outstretched to hand it over to him.
“What going on then?” Carol carefully asked, not wanting to pressure him into talking. “Need some help kicking some other-dimensional ass?”
— ”Thank you Captain. Much appreciated.” Taking the bottle from her.
“Since losing my title as the supreme, I have been a little under the weather and usually when this happens the magic gets out of control.”

“The food, for one thing. Probably not so much the drinks for me. Some of the art as well I suppose. A lot here is honestly fascinating.”
— ”The food? And art?” Glancing at a landscape of Asgardians and the Valkyrie running into battle. Reaching two fingers up, he enchanted the imagery started to move across the wall. “Like that?”

rescue-49:
The man wasn’t exactly a person Pepper had ever met in person, but she had certainly kept up with local news with a morbid fascination. Certainly she had heard of Dr. Stephan Strange and some inklings of whispers about magic here and there.
“Try being one of the hosts,” Pepper shakes her head. It was also technically the first actual party that was considered co-hosted by the couple. As small of a detail as it was. “I know it’s a sign of a good time, but the noise isn’t the best for my nerves.”
— ”I think it must be rather tedious to be the host of such an extravagant party. However, it also seems like you do have fun organizing it.” Strange never met Pepper on a personal level, only through the word of mouth. He chuckled at the thought and sighed. “The noise could be dampened for a moment.” a couple of fingers reached out, whispered a spell and the sound lowered. “They won’t notice but to us, it’s a difference.”

rescue-49:
Pepper had taken to hiding out by the window nearest the spinning Christmas tree. It wasn’t so much that she hated parties. Seeing everyone together in a peaceful environment was unusual. Quietly she nursed her glass of sparkling cider while watching the throng of people commingle.
Feeling a dip in the couch, she turned to see someone sit next to her. “You know the much more exciting company is over there.”
— ”With a gentle sigh, he took a seat next to Ms. Potts. He has yet to have more than a few words with her but for now, it seemed like she needed more than just his usual self.
“Exciting? I prefer being a wallflower at big events like these. Too many faces to entertain.”

“I don’t know. Eat, drink, be merry? Surely there must be something in Asgardia that would appeal to you.”
— ”Is there something here that appeals to you? I could probably take a chance on that?”

“I”m Billy Kaplan.”
He looked down at his hands with a slight frown. Yeah that happened sometimes but normally when it did, a good deal brighter. Still a bad sign of overflow and he needed to relax so his emotions didn’t start playing with his power. Deliberately he relaxed his fists and exhaled. Maybe not the best of ideas as it faded he started to feel a little light headed. Not bad, but not exactly good either.
For some hiding your hands wouldn’t be reassuring. For magic users whose hands play into how they use their powers. A sign that they weren’t prepping an attack.
“Pretty sure I didn’t bring it here. At least I don’t think so.” Billy had his subconscious pretty well in hand at the moment. “It just charged at me. After it absorbed anything I threw it, I tried using my powers to throw physical things in its path. Get far enough in front of it that I could call for help.”
“Kaplan? The name rings a distant bell but I cannot place it at this very second. I’ll get back to you on that.” He held out his own hand, but not in a handshake. Just a light wave. “Dr. Strange” He nodded after introducing himself. With a motion, his cloak moved closer and pulled up a chair right behind Billy. “Sit, you seem like you could use it.” Another hand gesture and tray appeared. “It is whatever you need it to be right now.” The empty cup waiting for Billy to take it so it could magically fill up with the drink he desired right now.”
“Not passing the blame onto you, just adding that it might try to feed off you after coming to this dimension. As for how it got here, I am unsure. I will have to look into any magical rifts opening up as of late.” slowly pacing around as he thought it over. “Indeed. The more energy you fed it, the more it wanted you. We should be safe here for the time being. But we cannot stay here indefinitely, will have to formulate a plan to send it back from whence it came.” Stephen smiled at the boy.
“You seemed a bit clumsy out there tonight, did you receive any formal training for your magical abilities?”

mysteriomanifesto:
[ LOCATION: SANCTUM SANCTORUM ]
The streets weren’t overly busy but 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕞𝕒𝕟’𝕤 traversal had garnered a few polite nods during this quiet evening, 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕤𝕠𝕣𝕔𝕖𝕣𝕖𝕣 reciprocating in kind despite the lack of awareness of who these civilians may be, given the expanse of Manhattan - Beck reasoned that they were most likely locals who knew Strange but he didn’t spend too long in consideration, the developer having matters far more important to contemplate. Perched on the edge of a windowsill and peering through the pane of glass from a building two blocks away, Quentin’s gaze drifts over the inkiness of the warm night sky, a playful smirk curling over his lips in contentment - based on the colourful spectacle he had planned, visibility of the whole ordeal would be wonderfully amplified and ripe for the capture of media.
Reverting his attention back to one of the monitors he had setup, the Sanctum looms into view and 𝕊𝕥𝕖𝕡𝕙𝕖𝕟 𝕥𝕒𝕜𝕖𝕤 𝕒 𝕕𝕖𝕖𝕡 𝕓𝕣𝕖𝕒𝕥𝕙, line of vision remaining focused on the rounded formation of the iconic pane of glass and its wonderfully baroque design ( it was almost a shame… ). There’s a thunderous tremor in the atmosphere, a flash of 𝕘𝕣𝕖𝕖𝕟 𝕝𝕚𝕘𝕙𝕥𝕟𝕚𝕟𝕘 splitting the sky in two, its elongated point of contact aiming directly for the centre of the window.
“𝕂𝕟𝕠𝕔𝕜 𝕜𝕟𝕠𝕔𝕜.”
@doctorstrangewizard
It’s not unlike Strange to spend his time in the sanctum any longer than he chose to. Even if he’s not the Supreme, he is still the keeper. He owned that at least to the Ancient One. Another day of studies, or was it a day filled with regret. Stephen found himself trapped inside his own mind for the time being. Slowly pacing around the old building... Maybe if he took a different course of action he wouldn’t be stuck in this unbearable loop of self-pity and regret.
But the events to follow was not something he anticipated, the crash of lightning against the window dragged him out of whatever stupor he got caught in. Glass shattered and rained down on Stephen, shielding himself with a quick gesture of his hand. Who was trying to pay a visit this time of night? He narrowed his eyes, only to be met with his of face. “What the hell?” He muttered.

“Reveal yourself.” Shapeshifter? Demon? Hallucination? Stephen was unable to detect the source of this energy but he will get to it nonetheless.

“I’m still flattered nonetheless and the feeling’s mutual. While we may not agree on certain matters, I do enjoy these little engaging talks we have - it isn’t often that I feel sufficiently… challenged.”
— ”That I have to agree with, it is as if the art of healthy debate or even a deeper conversation died as the years passed by. And it’s rather sad.”

The glowing gold circle opening in front of him a definite surprise. With the monster hot on his heels he didn’t have time to change direction. Billy would have tried flight, but the beast had been stealing his energy with everything he tried. Instead of stopping he almost slid through the circle. This was not the park.
He spun around in a circle Billy stopped when the stranger addressed him. “You know what that thing is? I didn’t exactly have a choice. It attacked me. I was just trying to get away.” His hands curled into fists blue light fluttering around it. Not that he wasn’t grateful for the apparent save, but he didn’t know if he could trust this person.
“How did you do that? I’ve never seen that before.” Like stepping through a door from one place to another. No real jolt. He could teleport himself but still worked on bringing others along.
Stephen made sure to seal the portals behind them, didn’t want that thing following him to their new location. Giving the young boy a once over he noticed that he wasn’t hurt... Well not in anyway that Strange wasn’t able to fix. “A demon from the negative zone. I don’t know how it came here...” Maybe he had an idea, some kids messing around with magic they’re not used to and summoned it here?
“Years of practice, years of study and years of meditation brought me to where I am now?” the wizard held his hands behind his back, to show that he’s not a threat to the boy in front of him. “This demon does not seek out just anyone, it feeds off positive magical energy and--” a finger pointed at the blue glowing fists. “I think I know why it’s after you. But you must be resonating a high quantity of power if you were able to escape from it for so long.”
His entire physique relaxed as he tilted his head to the side. “What is your name?”

“No, it’s not strange at all. Do you want me to get you some water?” Carol looked toward where she got her water, ready to head over there if he wanted some. “Pfft, I doubt anyone will even notice.”
— ”That would be kind of you. Thank you.”
“I’m not myself as of late, I don’t want to open a portal to the nether-zone and have everyone sucked into a black hole.” Stephen chuckled. “But I appreciate the gesture.”

“I mean Asgardian alcohol isn’t exactly earthly, but I get it.” If he didn’t want to drink, that was fine with Carol. “Yeah? Dancing?”

“The party isn’t the only thing with a stick-up-the-ass… Granted, the meaning of special occasions such as this are often lost due to increased commercialisation but— look around you, people are having fun. Don’t let your acrimony dictate your enjoyment of the evening. Grab yourself a bite to eat and make the most of the interesting company.”
