I'm a doctor working with patients with COVID-19 and it is so exhausting. It's so painful to discuss with the families of the patients about why we think the patients can't survive this admission.

Telling them that they can visit but that they'll probably end up getting covid and will have to isolate from their loved ones is heartbreaking.

And doing this many times a day, having multiple conversations with multiple patients families is horrible.

Then you take a break, go on social media to see people saying that they don't believe COVID is real, going out on the streets with no masks or protection on, saying that they wouldn't get vaccinated because they think vaccines are not useful.

Really?

How many people have to die before everyone understands the truth?

How many healthcare workers and front line workers need to burn out before we are all out of options?

You aren't just putting your lives in risk, you are risking your family, your grandparents, your sibling who has a heart condition, your uncle with diabetes. If you love your family, your neighbours and your annoying distant relatives, please be safe. Please get vaccinated if you are offered one.
