Puff’s upbringing is the one we have the most canon information on. So I haven’t thought of his childhood much.

I think that when he was young he had BAD meltdowns in the middle of class (Am I projecting onto him? Probably.)

Random extra headcanon that’s only kind of related. I think Puff’s mother used to bleach her hair blonde when she had custody of Puff.

The only place he didn’t feel totally alone was when he was with Meemaw and later his friends.

On that topic, he didn’t have friends before he met DeeJay. They bonded over being left out of the group, excluded, given the boot when you knew you should’ve been a shoo-in (sorry).

So for DeeJay, we have a bit on him. Just a little. He has a mom and a raging alcoholic abusive stepdad. I think his mom was a good mother, just a little misguided and oblivious. I think his bio father passed away. Mentioning him would be like the only time you’d ever see DeeJay cry.

He was considered a quiet kid in school. Good student, sure, but he wouldn’t raise his hand or anything.

Was never much for extracurricular clubs or teams or stuff like that. He’d rather go hang out with Puff after school.

Where DeeJay wasn’t much for extracurriculars, Benatar was all about extracurriculars. If there was a club, he’d probably have been in it at some point in time. Debate? Drama? Chess? Football? Yeah.

So how I imagine Benatar’s parents since we don’t know anything about them is that they were the overbearing type. Strict. Had high expectations. Not necessarily abusive but definitely stifling. If asked to design them I’d probably make it so they’re only shown shoulders-down.

I don’t think they’d have approved of Benatar being friends with Puff. They’d fear him to be a bad influence.

Benatar was singled out for being British in an all-American school (that sounds like a GLMM title I’m sorry). So of course he was an outcast too. Of course. Noticing a theme here?

So... Axel. I think he was raised with both parents who were together. But... I think they didn’t give him enough attention as a kid.

Specifically his father instilled into him a love of music but not much else.

I think his odd habit of spewing facts that he has in canon comes from years of watching whatever bullshit was on National Geographic and the History Channel that really isn’t about history.

Yeah I think that’s all I got.
