with  a  new  year’s  arrival,  it  is  time  for  the  volki  and  their  allied  bratvas  to  once  again  partake  in  annual  conclave  and  confer  :  proceed  with  past  business  or  cut  all  ties.  beneath  the  guise  of  festive  gala,  pakhans  and  inner  circles  convene  in  closed  quarters  at  the  high  table,  invited  guests  and  mafia  members  free  to  mingle  amidst  simmering  tension.  and  once  all  dealings  are  concluded,  it  is,  for  once  a  year,  a  moment  meant  to  provide  a  night  of  normalcy  where  wars  halt  till  morning.  gathered  at  the  metropol  on  christmas  eve,  each  bratva  has  surrendered  their  respective  share  of  expenses  in  order  to  fund  the  evening’s  festivities,  as  well  as  pledged  a  ceasefire  for  the  convention’s  duration.  the  performers  at  the  nightingale  provide  entertainment  within  the  hotel’s  theater,  select  liquor  from  the  garnizon  is  offered  to  those  twirling  throughout  the  ballroom,  individuals  familiar  with  the  den  take  part  in  friendly  competition  below  basement  stairs,  and  those  who  often  bet  at  the  racetrack  gamble  bad  hands  in  a  suite  at  the  top  floor.  crowds  congregate  and  congest  all  vacancy  the  grand  hotel’s  threshold  may  have  once  possessed  ;  its  multitude  of  floors  littered  with  saluting  silhouettes  far  from  the  firing  line.  as  russia’s  leading  bratva,  the  conclave  has  always  taken  place  upon  volki  grounds,  their  territory  expansive  yet  no  less  guarded  during  the  holiday  merriment.  but  with  three  influential  mafias  occupied  within  the  metropol,  there  are  some  who  consider  it  the  perfect  time  to  strike.
