i’ve been turning black sails over and over in my mind trying to see if there’s any part in the story where I could’ve averted the ending or made them all happy, any place at all where cassandra could’ve swept in with her prophecy that if you continue along this path, not one of you will find peace or contentment, you have to change direction now—and I can’t find it.

it was always going to end like this.

because flint is right and madi is too and so was charles vane when they thought war was worth more than peace. and silver was right and so was julius when they said a sliver of time with your loved ones was worth more than liberation for all. and edward teach was right when he left them all behind but he was always going to come back for charles and eleanor was right when she wanted to make something for herself but chose love instead and max was right when she was willing to make compromises to ensure her prosperity but gave it up for anne and miranda was right when she said we can’t live like this and we need to go see peter to change this world and she paid in blood and billy was right when he fought for freedom but didn’t trust flint and paid in blood and jack was right when he realized the thing he cared for most was a name for himself and anne by his side and anne was right when she wanted peace but couldn’t live as a wife and at the end of the day none of their goals matched and they were all willing to die for them anyways

how do you fix a story that’s already been told? how do you fix a story when none of the characters want to do anything different? I can’t come up with one single place in the story where I can shake them all until their heads rattle and tell them to choose a different path. all paths always led here. they were dead before it started.

imagine that somewhere in the future, after years of learning to actually let himself open up and be honest, damian tells the real story of what happened to him to jon

so, there may have been some asks about timkon

and I am going to use this as an excuse to rant about them TimKon is about soulmates, about a relationship transcending time and space, about an ultimate human experience of wanting to know another soul and wanting to be known

I mean, how can you not get invested, if they

started out with this👆 amazing bickering\banter but also working well together, even despite driving each other MAD, and finishing their first meeting with

not just Superboy saving Robin,

but also Robin saving Superboy in return?

They’ve also self-assigned themselves the roles of Bart’s parents even though it was the first time the three of them were together

They can be the ultimate childhood friends to lovers au, not only because they literally grew up together, getting those experiences of friendship like never before, where they didn’t have to hide their superhero identities , but also

because they’ve shared a lot of secrets (like that time when Kon found out that he’s got 50% Luthor’s DNA and Tim was the only one who knew) and shouldered responsibility together Even before I start anything about the undeniable romance that’s so visible in the way they just are around each other, the bond between them as friends, each other’s confidants and support,  is so, so important, to the smallest detail

(like when in the 90s comics Tim took the time to record the episodes of a TV series Kon loves, when Kon was lost in the other dimension and couldn’t watch it)

because they always have each other’s back

(would you guess that Kon’s the invulnerable one, when Tim feels like he needs to hold him after they both suffered from the same blast that threw them like 20 feet back?) This is a relationship of trust and equality and mutually supportive partnership. This panel looks super fun, just two friends goofing around:

Because they know each other, the good and the bad and all that’s in-between, both being able to recognize when the other needs help, when something’s not okay

This is a page from Tim’s Red Robin run, the worst year of his life, the year of bad decisions and multiple near-deaths. Here, Kon’s just come back from being dead, and he managed to figure out Tim and what’s bothering him in a matter of seconds -  something no one else, neither Tim’s friends nor his family, managed or cared enough to do during that year  ‘I know what guilt can do to you, Tim‘ - do you understand how important this is for Tim, a kid whose parents never cared enough to get to know him, a kid who still thinks that people want him around only for his usefulness? Because what Kon is saying here is I know you, I see you Because, honestly, they’ve always been looking at each other?

Even in the smallest ways (this👆 panel is from Red Tornado’s, the first mentor of Young Justice, thoughts about them. This is an outsiders perspective on them)

They are always there for each other, always each other’s first choice

Because they also can’t really be without each other - this bond between them transcends death itself. I mean, Tim doesn’t know how to live without Kon:

‘I couldn’t lose you, too (…) I know it wouldn’t have been you, but it would’ve been something‘ - have you ever heard anything more romantic in your life?

And, yes, let’s not forget the cloning attempts

The connection they have is so special that they tend to gravitate towards each other in all of the different continuities, even when they don’t really know each other 

(👆Kon’s a clone who’s been alive for just a few month, and he and Tim’s barely just met)

Let’s also not forget that there’s a universe where Tim died

And Kon took his place at Bruce’s side

(do you want to think about this with me? How he probably wore Tim’s utility belt after Tim died? Good, now we’re both sad) Comics establish this unimaginably close relationship between the two of them, the one that brings them together throughout different universes in the Rebirth continuity, where a lot of illogical and weird things happened and Tim forgot about Young Justice for some reason, the alternative universe evil!Batman Tim talked to him about Conner 

‘You know how much he matters to us‘

no wonder Kon’s the first person Tim remembers when Zatanna brings his memories back

And also Kon rushes to the rescue as soon as Bart mentions that he’s not alone in this weird alternative dimension where Kon’s been stuck 

Kon and Tim love and trust each other

The chemistry between them is so obvious that even some of the DC authors admit it

This two literally do not know how to live without each other, they grew up together and respect, love and trust each other. No matter the circumstances, the universe always finds a way to bring them together. And that’s probably why I, as a writer, find them so compelling, why I haven’t let go of them for so long, why I keep putting them into different Alternative Universes, into different circumstances with the same outcome, again and again - the two of them always finding the way into each other’s arms.

I loveeee Mobei-Jun and his squishy little goon Shang Qinghua. They are hilarious and I loved reading about them.

And of course, I drew the half-demon family that never came to be. They deserved happiness! Bamboo Branch Poem is probably my favourite short, but it's hard to say so because they were all so good!

And yes, Binghe looks 99% like his mom and 1% like his dad. If you know, you know ;)

recommending scum villain to a friend like: it’s so fucked up. it’s a comedy. it’s a tragedy. it’s satire. it’s commentary on sanitisation and sacrifices made by queer authors in order to sell. its about the ripple effects of a single change on an entire world. it’s about people struggling to be loved and plants that can make you so horny that it’ll literally kill you. it’s the sexiest and least horny thing you’ll ever read. the narrator is genderqueer and homosexual and the most queerphobic person you’ll ever come across. he’s a reddit incel who can and will do his best to convince you that he’s not the decent person that he genuinely is. he genuinely believes that he is straight despite having the most obvious fanboy boner for his love interest. his love interest is an alpha male with severe abandonment issues begging to be dominated. it’s about a guy who gets put into a 3000+ chapter harem novel that he hate-read in 20 days and left dissertation-comments on every installment of. the author of said novel has also been stuck in his own story as some random guy that just happens to be close to the glacial bitch mountain of a demon that he created based off all of his preferred kinks. the author and the reddit incel are normal-human versions of their respective love interests, and neither of them seem keen to address it. there’s a donghua that looks like it belongs in an early 2000s PC game but it only has ten episodes. you will beg for scraps of content and enjoy it.
