I was totally unaware about the concept of Japanese forest bathing and its benefits, until I visited this homestay near Mussoorie – The Dolina Retreat, blissfully ensconced in the lap of the foothills of the Himalayas. This retreat is located within a mountain’s landscapes in such a way that it is surrounded by verdant forests on three sides and on one side it has its entrance.
A rare geographical feature called a ‘dolina’ is formed on limestone mountains where over years a natural bowl like formation occurs which resembles a mini valley and is covered with healthy vegetation and wildlife. It surely is a sheer delight for the mind, body, and soul. It offers one of those rare experiences that unwind the senses completely apart from cottages with modern amenities, outdoor activities and spa and relaxation therapies.
