The Bad Thing is ready to play.
Over the next few hours, The Bad Thing will begin sending each of you a text message. But before we begin, let's cover a few things that you may be wondering:
All text messages, unless otherwise stated, will be private. Even if there is another character involved, the other character will not be aware of The Bad Thing's request. Yes, that does mean that The Bad Thing may or may not pin you up against one another. Friends, family, lovers, no one is safe. You are welcome to send text messages to The Bad Thing whenever you want to. Simply tag them in a text message (chat or text post) or feel free to drop a line in their inbox. Your conversations with them will be private. Also be aware that The Bad Thing does have complete access to all private posts.
The Bad Thing will tell you how long it will be until you get your reward or consequence. These may vary in time, they may not necessarily follow the tour schedule. Remember, they are always watching so you aren't necessarily safe even when you're at home. You will also be aware of what your reward is going to be, but you will not be aware of what your consequence will be if you do not complete the given request.
Obviously, these requests are going to put stress in your character's life: use your journal/sideblog! If you're feeling up to it, you can even write a self para. Any post at all that is related to your character's request should be tagged with #badthing.task, even if it's on your sideblog. There is no requirement as to how many posts you need to make each request, but we would prefer that you at least make one.
If at any time you, as a writer, don't feel comfortable with a request, please let us know immediately. Obviously, your character is going to be uncomfortable but we want to make sure you as a writer are still comfortable with what's going on. We will either drop the request or assign you a new one that you are more comfortable with.
