This is honestly disgusting. A victim of sex trafficking who was arrested only at the age of 16 for protecting herself and given LIFE in prison. She’s now 30 years old and still has 51 years to serve for a crime that I call... “Self Defense.”
This is the world we live in. This is sick and unfair.

True Love. Gone but Not Forgetten...
True Love. Gone but Not Forgotten… BY DOMINIQUE SIMMONS
A story all about true love and how it started from the beginning as something so beautiful but ended in tragedy. A story of love forever. Andrea Phillips, 54, migrated to the United States from Jamaica leaving family behind to seek a better life at only 18 years old. Feeling sad and depressed, Andrea arrived to the US the day before her birthday which was February 8th, 1982. She was enrolled at Monroe College and majored in business. While she was there, she came across a student who would always try to speak to her in her typing class and she just simply wanted to learn but he’d always bother her and talk to her. Always was how a love story would start sometime. January of 1983, Andrea left class as it started to snow heavily and started to stick to the ground resulting into 5in. of snow. White pants, satin fuchsia shirt, and some 4inch high heels is what this young lady wore to school in the snow! To this result, Andrea almost slipped but luckily someone caught her and saved her from the icy fall. Arthur Phillips, 22, was her hero on that cold winter day. The guy who bothered her in class grew up in the same hometown she lived in. That day, they caught the bus home. He held her arm and walked her home making sure that she was okay and didn’t slip again.
After that day, they started to speak a lot more now and started to see each other more often as he asked, “Can I see your pretty face again?” and the rest was literally history. Though Andrea was forced to leave school, she still made sure that her and Arthur still kept in contact. She then met his family and that same year they began dating. Going out together more, dressing up and doing what young lovers do.
Andrea spent Christmas and Thanksgiving with Arthur’s family because some of her family was back in Jamaica and couldn’t make it up to the United States yet. Arthur’s family loved Andrea just like she was a part of their family. Arthur’s Uncle would say, “Man, you have to marry this one, she’s a keeper.” When asked what about Arthur made Andrea happy? “He was a gentleman, when I was with him I felt extremely safe and nobody would bother me at all. Everybody in the neighborhood knew him or knew of him. He was a working man who was quiet, he was tall and dark and very handsome.” says Andrea.
The two then got married on August 27, 1985. The two had a big wedding with family and friends that came together to support the special affair. Andrea was very happy, but sad too because her mother couldn’t come up from Jamaica to be there for her wedding.
That same year, Andrea and Arthur found an apartment in Mount Vernon, NY and began living with each other. Despite how young they both were, they were in love and started to live a very happy life. Mount Vernon is a small town in New York. The neighborhood that Andrea lived in wasn’t the best and Arthur actually got himself caught up in the wrong crowd. In 1986, the two decided to move out of Mount Vernon and reside in the Bronx to simply live a better life. “There were some good and some bad days.” Andrea says.
She was again away from family due to moving to the Bronx. Although Arthur was a very charming and generous man, he got himself caught up in some personal things and never came home one night, which scared Andrea. Luckily, he was safe that day and nothing happened but… things didn’t get easy from there on.
In the Summer of 87’, Andrea went to Connecticut to possibly find a better job and a better living to situation for both her and Arthur. While there, Andrea did not hear from Arthur for 3 days and that made her worry. One day, Arthur’s mom called her and told Andrea that she must return back home to the Bronx because Arthur was sick and in the hospital. Andrea had a feeling something worst happened because the long car ride back home was quiet and she just wanted to know what was going on back home.
Once Andrea reached back home, she seen a lot of people on her block and cop cars everywhere with the street being tapped off with yellow tape. Right then and there, Andrea knew her love story ended abruptly and in tragedy. On September 1 1987, Arthur was found murdered in his home.  Still to this day, his murder has remained unsolved. At only the age of 25, a young soul had left this earth the wrong way. Arthur was buried on his birthday, September 5. Andrea remained in the home but moved out because she felt as if the walls in the home was caving in on her. She lived her life in fear every day because the person who protected her was no longer around and she was devastated.
To cope with the loss of her husband, Andrea went to Westchester Community College then attended Iona College and received two master degrees. There would be times where she would sit at her desk and feel like his death was a lie. She felt like Arthur was in witness protection and would come back to her but he really was gone. The love of her life is now an angel above. Now in the year of 2018, Andrea has two children and kept the name Phillips in memory of her first love Arthur Phillips. Andrea keeps a brown journal and writes to Arthur about everything that has occurred in her life while he has been away…
True love. A story that will never be forgotten.

This saddens me! too many talented musicians going through things like this during 2018. I love Ty Dolla $ign! His music is incredible and it’s different. The fact that this man is close to even facing 15 years in prison is beyond me! I feel as though celebs need to relax when it comes to the drugs and the weapons and just abide by the rules. But hey, it’ll never end from the looks of it :(
