Victoire kept her omnioculars pressed to her face, following her aunt’s progress in the game. It was really a relief that Aunt Ginny wasn’t playing Quidditch anymore, because now she didn’t have to feel guilty for rooting for Puddlemere United over the Harpies, but Angelina had always been one of her favorites in the family. And since this was going to be her last season playing, Victoire didn’t want to miss a single moment. There was no doubt that their family would be at every Puddlemere match this season.
Hearing her sister’s approach, Victoire lowered the magical binoculars and gladly took the bag from Dominique’s hands, searching through it for a treat of her own to consume first. She gave a shrug in answer to her sister’s question and spoke through a mouth full of cauldron cake. “Aunt Angelina scored another goal, but that’s all. The beaters for the Harpies are unstoppable this season, but they haven’t gotten Angelina yet.”
Making room so that her sister could lean against the railing beside her, Victoire turned her attention away from the game momentarily to smile at Dominique. “Merlin, do you realize this is the last season we’ll probably be able to get good seats like this? I’m not sure I’d be allowed to bring you with me to the press box, but I’ll have to work on that for next year.” Shaking her head in lament at that realization, she looked back to the game. “She’s still one of their best players, though. It’s a shame she’s ready to call it quits, because Puddlemere will be toast without her.” It probably wasn’t strictly true, but family loyalty meant that Victoire believed what she was saying. She looked back over at Dominique. “Was it a madhouse out there, or is everyone focused on the game?”
Tumblr media
“Well I was gone for, what? Ten minutes?” Dominique asks, making a show of looking at a non-existent watch on her wrist, “Would have been strange if she hadn’t managed to score a goal in that time. I think I’d be getting a little worried.” She laughs. There was perhaps a possibility that Dominique was a tad biased when she said that her aunt Angelina was the greatest player that Puddlemere had ever seen, and that she was undoubtably the key to the team’s longstanding success. “They won’t get her, she’s too good. And I should know, you saw my grades in divination - impeccable.” Dominique laughs, throwing another piece of chocolate into her mouth.
“Oh, why’d you have to go and say that?” She shakes her head with a chuckle. Angelina had only recently announced her retirement, and though it wasn’t a total shock that her aunt might want to get out while she was still at the peak of her skill, Dominique hadn’t yet processed the fact that this meant she wouldn’t be able to enjoy all the perks that came with her aunt’s career anymore -- now she’d have to wait for one of her cousins to break into the sport themselves ( she had her money on Roxanne ). “I’m sure they won’t even notice if you sneak me in. I’ll just wear a camera around my neck and say I’m your apprentice or something.”
“You’re not wrong.” Dominique says, watching as their aunt manages to score another goal, cheering along with the crowd as she does so. “I’m a little worried about them, it might open up the top spot for Caerphilly next season - I’m not sure that’s a world I want to live in.” She says, looking away from the game and back at her sister. “Wasn’t as bad as I expected,” She answers, “I think I went at the right time, everyone’s invested in the game now. And too afraid of losing their seats. Trying to get back up here was the real struggle, almost didn’t think I would make it.”

- OPENED STARTER -
Edinburgh Quidditch Stadium, Edinburgh, Scotland ;; 30th October, 2020
                “GO HOLYHEAD HARPIEEEEES!!!”
That’s how the great chase began. It probably wasn’t smart to yell for the Harpies in a tribune filled to the brim with Puddlemere fans, but when exactly had Teddy made good life choices that wouldn’t harm him? Yeah, never. As the boy was hopping over four, even five staircase steps at a time going down from the tribune, a wild and angry band of four chased him down with almost matching agility.
When Lupin found himself down on the floor grounds, he just started running. Anywhere. He could hear the angry bastards scream and yell very very bad words at him. Certainly his chant for victory wasn’t to their liking… probably because it was for the opposing team. Teddy quite literally had to push people violently out of his way, at last giving up with the out of breath ’I’m sorry!’ and ’Excuse me!’ after he had pushed away the fifth person. After jumping over some rocks and sneakily sprinting in between some drunk wizards, he found a very convenient tent that he hid behind as the gang hopefully ran past his decoy. Relaxing for a bit, he allowed his lungs to breathe, a stupid smile on his face.
"Well that was quite the-“, he began stating to himself as he turned and saw another figure in his proximity. "DEAR MERLIN!”, Teddy screamed. “Sneakin’ up is bad, don’t you know that?”
Tumblr media
Dominique had learned a long time ago that it was far from out of the ordinary to run into Teddy Lupin caught up in some kind of trouble -- in fact, it seemed it was more likely to find him in trouble than out of it, most days -- she supposed that they had that in common. Dominique just also happened to have a penchant for not getting caught, especially during her Hogwarts days.
Standing still in one place for a long period of time was never something she’d been particularly good at, not even at a Quidditch match, with the energy of the supporters all around to entertain her. She’d come with Victoire and Teddy, but had peeled off from them a little while ago, deciding to wander around the stadium, see if there was anybody else floating around that she recognised. Besides, there was only so long she could third wheel her big sister for.
She’s in conversation with someone she knew from school ( not very well, but well enough that it wasn’t too awkward to chat with them for a while ) when she spots none other than Teddy Lupin running through the stands, apparently being chased by a pack of not-so-happy fans. She’s already laughing before she knows what’s happened ( though she can take a fairly educated guess ), excusing herself from the conversation and weaving her way through the crowds to the tent where she’d spotted him duck and hide.
“I didn’t sneak,” She giggles, “You just weren’t paying attention. Be nice, or I’ll go out there and tell your new friends where you’re hiding.”

WHO: Dominique & Victoire. WHERE: Edinburgh Quidditch Stadium, Edinburgh, Scotland. WHEN: 30th October, 2020.
For as long as she could remember, Quidditch had been part of Dominique’s life. It’s just the way things were if you were a Weasley -- it was almost like an unofficial family tradition. With two aunts playing for two of the best teams in the league ( funnily enough, the two that were playing today - so Dominique claimed to be perfectly impartial at this game ), it was just a given that Dominique would grow up to enjoy Quidditch, too. Though she’d played during her time at Hogwarts ( the best beater Ravenclaw had ever seen, in her not-so-humble opinion ), she couldn’t quite imagine making a career out of the sport like her aunts had -- just watching the games had her heart racing with far too much adrenaline.
She had ducked away from her seat to go buy some snacks from the vendor -- it wasn’t really a Quidditch match if she didn’t have something to keep her hands warm and her stomach full -- and weaved her way back through the crowds of people to get back to her viewing spot. One of the perks of having two family members who were practically legends of the game was that Dominique and her family had access to some of the best seats in the entire arena, and most people would need to pay top dollar for the seats her Aunt Angelina had given to Victoire today.
After what feels like an eternity making her way back from the snack vendor to where she and Victoire have set up camp, Dominique lets out a sigh as she spots the familiar head of blonde hair up ahead. She comes to stand next to her older sister, handing her a bag of assorted goodies and leaning on the railing. “What have I missed?” She asks, popping some chocolate into her mouth.

He rubbed his eyes with the heels of his hands as he stumped back into the shop. Years had passed, but Ron Weasley was still not a morning person. As an Auror he’d grown used to early mornings and late nights, but that didn’t mean he liked them, and there was a part of him that had hoped working at the joke shop with George would grant him a bit of reprieve. It turned out early mornings were just a part of adulthood, and at forty years old he’d finally come to terms with it…somewhat.
“Wrong uncle,” he grumbled, glancing blearily at Dominique as she stepped into view. If she could manage an early morning, so could he, and such a thought forced a bit more life into him. Drawing closer, he squinted at the box in her hand.
“George would tell you to put it wherever you want, and if I’m being honest I haven’t a clue where it actually goes, so…I dunno, follow your heart, I guess.” He offered her an apologetic shrug.
“At least you can tell your friends your uncles encourage creativity, eh?”
Tumblr media
Only the briefest hint of surprise passes across Dominique’s face at the sight of Ron rather than George -- close enough, she figures. “Sorry, Uncle Ron.” She says, shaking her head. She looks him up and down for a moment, noting the fact that he looks tired, though this was hardly a surprise. Her dad had always said that Ron wasn’t much of a morning person, and she’d been able to witness as such first hand since starting out at the shop.
Dominique supposed she was unique in the fact that she didn’t particularly mind early starts. She’d always been quite rotten at sleeping in, her mind active as soon as she first woke up, thinking about all the things she could be doing rather than sleeping. She’d gotten better at it, though, and on her days off she tried to sleep in, though somewhat unsuccessfully compared to most.
“Follow my heart?” She repeats, before shrugging. “Fair enough, I suppose.” She really shouldn’t have expected anything more than the answer she got, should she? That’s just how things worked around here -- a little chaos never killed anybody. “I’ll make sure to,” She says, “If any of them are every looking for work I’ll tell them all about how I got to use my brain while working at Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes - there’s no other experience quite like it.” She laughs.

He usually didn’t worry about new(ish) employees. The thing about Wheezes was that it practically ran itself - chaos was just good advertising. Or so George thought. But Dominique was different, because she was family and because George wasn’t a stranger to the kind of mask she’d been putting in place ever since she’d started working here. So he came back quickly to check on her, and at the very least to make her take a lunch break. The kid definitely had Bill’s genes, worked far too hard.
“Ah, you’re thinking about it all wrong. This is a joke shop, not a library. They’re not supposed to go anywhere. Surprise me! Do something mad with it!” George exclaimed grandly, gesturing around the store, which really did defy most logical ordering systems. Aside from having a special section for their Defence Against the Dark Arts line, there wasn’t much rhyme or reason to where they put things.
As if upon second thought, he added more sensibly, “But do, you know, keep them within the store in an area that’s more or less easy to point out to customers who come looking for …” he took a quick look at the box, “… oh, right, that’s based on Aunt Ginny’s Bat Bogey Hex.  Makes giant bogey animals come out of people’s noses if you fire it at em.  I’ve always thought of that as something you need in every situation.” George’s cheerful expression softened as he took a closer look at Dominique, asking, “How’s the job coming along, kiddo? Need anything?”
Tumblr media
Dominique lets out a laugh at her uncle’s explanation, leaning against one of the shelves as he speaks -- she really should have expected that, all things considered. While Dominique had, for the most part, been putting things back in roughly the same places each day ( more for simplicity’s sake than anything else, she had absolutely no doubt that if she changed things up every morning, she’d forget where everything was by the afternoon and be left spending forty five minutes with each customer trying to figure out where all their products were ), she knew that this shop wasn’t exactly built with any kind of order in mind -- one just had to look around to figure that much out.
“Do something mad with it, got it.” She says with a nod, taking one of the Bat Bogey Hexes out of the box and examining it again. Her face contorts with the mental image of giant bogey animals erupting from peoples’ noses flitting through her mind, but softens again into laughter at George’s enthusiasm over the fact. “That sounds completely disgusting,” She says, “I think it needs to go in the main window, it’s a best-seller for sure.”
Dominique shakes her head instinctively at the question. Though she’d never pictured herself working at the joke shop, it didn’t mean she wasn’t extremely grateful for the opportunity. Without this job, she’d likely be sitting at home, twiddling her thumbs while her mother hovered over her nervously over her. At least, while she was here, she could take her mind off the fact that she didn’t have a plan for what she wanted to do next -- as far as any future Dominique had ever envisioned for herself, this was far beyond the end of the road. “Fine,” She says, nodding enthusiastically, “Aside from the rogue boxes, and this customer who came in yesterday and asked if we sold medical supplies - I think he was lost. I am a little concerned about him, still.”

It’s come to his attention that, as of late, Dennis has been wasting his days off. The last few he’s had were largely spent sleeping or watching television (a habit he still tends to keep to himself, for obvious reasons). With the amount of errand and chores he has stacking up, though, he knows he won’t be able to get away with laziness again today.
This has led him straight to Diagon Alley, where he knows he’ll be able find most of the things he needs. Some of them are Muggle items, which will require a separate trip, but Dennis isn’t worried about that quite yet. As he steps further down the lane, his eyes can only focus on one thing: the bright, chaotic store that lies ahead of him. Even now, at his big age, the sight of Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes makes him smile. The reminder of simpler times is a welcome one.
And perhaps it’s embarrassing that he’s drawn to it so easily, that his feet move toward the building before his brain has given them clearance, but alas. He’s reaching the door before he really has anytime to consider otherwise.
Dennis heaves it open, unsurprised at how empty it is. He can’t imagine the target audience of such a shop would be awake this early. He’s grateful for the silence, heading toward a cage of Pygmy Puffs, when the sound of a voice makes him jump. He stops in his tracks almost immediately.
“Ah. Sorry. Not your uncle. Just, uh, lookin’ at those guys. Was gonna see how much they cost.” Dennis makes a vague gesture in the direction of the Pygmy Puffs, smiling a little as he does.
Tumblr media
Dominique practically skids to a halt as she steps out from behind the shelf she was stacking and sees someone who is most assuredly not her uncle George -- and very likely a paying customer. Oh well, she thinks, people know to expect a bit of unusual service whenever they step into this place, it’s part of the charm.
She doesn’t recognise the man in her store, but that’s hardly surprising in and of itself, though she must admit that she is a little surprised to see someone in the store so early. Usually this time of morning could safely be reserved for general maintenance and upkeep of the store, though she’s quite thankful for the distraction. She much prefers chatting with customers to cleaning up and restocking items.
“Sorry,” She says, offering him a smile, “We don’t usually get too many customers in here at this hour, you see. Especially not while school is on. Most of our customer base is between the ages of twelve and fifteen. Don’t let that discourage you, though.” Dominique explains as she strolls closer to better see what he’s pointing at -- an amused grin flitting across her face at the sight of the pygmy puffs, crawling and falling all over each other in their display.
“They’re so cute, aren’t they? They’re five galleons each, three for twelve if you’ve got a lot of time on your hands to look after a whole bunch.”

ginevrapctter‌:
Whenever she made a trip to Diagon Alley it was never an odd thing for Ginny to make her way towards the Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes. In fact she was probably one of the few that stopped in there on the daily. Before it was as a child getting things for the school year and to catch up with friends after a long summer. And now it was to visit with her siblings, that seemed to always be littered around the shop, and get things for her own children. Not only was she stopping by to check in on George and catch up with him but she also promised to send her kids a couple of things they had been asking for over the past few weeks.
Making her way to the shop she walked through the door, a small sigh of relief left her lips as she took note of the almost empty shop. Least now if she caught someone up in conversation she wouldn’t keep the group from helping other customers. Even as she stood in the entrance she felt a small smile of ease wash over her as she glanced around. She didn’t know who was around and who was off on a break and what not but she was determined to find someone.
Hearing a voice calling around a corner Ginny made her way closer and offered Dominique a small smile and shook her head. “Not George but I think I can help you figure out where that goes.” She offered as she moved towards her niece. “Do you want to finish putting all this away or can I steal you at the counter for a bit and catch up with you? Don’t want your boss getting mad at you.” The Potter matriarch teased as she leaned against the shelf.
Tumblr media
Perhaps she should have been embarrassed about calling out through an empty store to someone who was decidedly not her uncle George -- but rather than feel her face flush red hot with such emotions, Dominique instead lets out a laugh, grateful for the fact that at least her blunder was in front of someone she knew -- rather than a complete stranger.
Some people may not have liked having an extended family as large as the Weasleys’, and, at times, Dominique did admit it could be a burden, but for the most part, she considered herself to be incredible lucky to ( almost ) automatically have so many people in her corner. It seemed as though, no matter what she was going through, there was always one of her aunts or uncles who had been through something similar ( statistics dictated this be the case, really ).
Though her currently directionless life may not have won her the praise of all of her family ( her mother and her aunt Hermione voicing their concerns, to name a couple ), she didn’t think she would receive this kind of disappointment from her aunt Ginny. Perhaps that’s why she was excited to see her aunt -- or perhaps it was simply the prospect of getting out of stacking shelves for a few minutes -- either way, Dominique gave her aunt a wide grin.
“I think it can wait for a little bit,” She says with a chuckle, plucking something off one of the shelves, “Here, we can pretend you’re buying this if anyone asks. Besides, I think my boss is more scared of you than he is of unstacked shelves.” She shrugs.

WHO: Dominique & Open WHERE: Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes WHEN: October 25th, 2020. 9:30am
If you had told Dominique a year ago that she would be working at her uncles’ joke shop, selling such items as Demon Dung and Sticky Trainers, there’s a fairly high chance she wouldn’t have believed you. Of course, if you’d tried to tell her she would be doing just about anything a year ago, she probably wouldn’t have believed you. The shop was fairly quiet, though this was far from unusual for a Sunday morning. Their standard clientele were likely still in bed, or in their dormitories at school. Their busiest times by far were the school holidays, and, thankfully, Dominique didn’t have to worry about that just at the moment.
She uses the downtime as an opportunity to restock the shelves -- which, granted, she will probably just do with magic after ten or so minutes doing it by hand. She’s alone at the moment, George and Ron having ducked out to do... something. She really should have been listening when they told her what it was. It didn’t matter, though, she figured they’d be back soon, and until they were, she was more than capable of manning the fort by herself. Though she couldn’t lie and say that she found the same sense of enjoyment and fulfilment that her uncles had from running this place, she was determined to work hard, and had managed to learn the ropes of this place in a matter of weeks ( it certainly helped that she’d been here a number of times in her childhood ). They’d thrown her a lifeline when she was floundering, the least she could do was make sure they didn’t regret it.
Besides, as far as jobs went, this certainly wasn’t the worst one. Or at least, she didn’t think it was. She didn’t really have anything to compare it to. She could take lunch whenever she liked, she always had friendly faces to chat to, and she even got to take home free products if they had extra -- though she didn’t really have much use for them. She didn’t plan to stay here forever, of course. This was simply a way station on the way to wherever it was she was destined to end up -- all she had to do was figure that out. And try to keep her mind off the fact that she had absolutely no idea, and would probably carry the feeling that something was missing with her for the rest of her life.
Dominique frowns down at a box of some sort of device she’s never seen before. It must be something new they’re rolling out -- though she has no idea what it is, or where it’s supposed to go. She huffs in annoyance, not wanting to just leave the box now that she’s opened it, but seeing no other choice, when she hears the bell above the entrance signalling that someone’s arrived. “Uncle George?” She calls out, figuring it must be him back from whatever errand he was running, “Do you know where these are supposed to go?” She asks, finally stepping out from behind the shelf to greet the newcomer face to face.

It was a little strange, really, being back in Hogsmeade. She’d spent most of her weekends here when she was at school, running between shops with her friends, buying whatever the money in their pockets would allow them to ( which, often, wasn’t very much, they were students after all - they didn’t exactly have steady sources of income ). She hadn’t returned here since her graduation, and seeing this place, as well as the dozens of Hogwarts students that currently roamed through the main drag, many of whom she still recognised, brought back a sense of fond nostalgia, and made her feel slightly out of place, though it had only been a few short months since she was one of them.
She was only here now because she needed to be -- her mother was in search of some kind of herb for something or other, one that she insisted could only be found in a specific store in Hogsmeade ( or in France, but there was no way Dominique was going all the way there ). She’d volunteered to go more to get out of the house than anything else, the thought of revisiting a place that had meant so much to her just a few months ago sounded like too good of an opportunity to pass up.
She’d managed to acquire the herbs in question and was making her way back down the main strip when she felt herself tripping on something, barely even having enough time to put her hands out to stop her head from smacking into the ground. “I’m fine, I’m fine,” She says, irritation instantly bubbling inside of her, and she whips her head around to see exactly who or what had been so unkind as to trip her in the street, face instantly softening into a look of surprise when she recognises the man she’d just tripped over.
“Headmaster!” She gasps, pushing herself up off the ground and dusting the dirt from her palms. She pauses for a moment, “Do I still call you Headmaster? Or just Mr. Longbottom? Or Neville?” She asks, an exaggerated look of distaste crossing her features at the last one, “Nope, I don’t think I can do it. I might just stick with Headmaster, if that’s alright, sir.”
Tumblr media
Location: Hogsmeade Proper Date: October 24th, 2020 Status: Open
Though not beholden to waiting for a Hogsmeade weekend, Neville finds that there is a bit of peace and accountability to adhering to the schedule set upon those that he lives with. One of the people, he likes to consider himself, though he knows that in the eyes of the students and staff, at his core he is not with them, no matter how many office hours he holds or candies he doles out from his desk– the practice often makes him think of Dumbledore with a nostalgic smile. But he likes knowing that it’s easy enough to keep in line with everyone else, take rotations with his staff, be a man humbled by his position rather than bolstered by it. In this way, he tries very hard to not be offended when children scatter one way or the other when they notice that their Headmaster is among them.
He tightens his scarf– a multicolored one of red, blue, green and gold, as it wouldn’t do to have any favorites, now would it?– as he takes his time strolling down the road. He watches with interest as the children run in and out of the stores, hold hands, guzzle sweets, even fight among themselves. It tastes sweet in his mouth, like a withering sugar quill. Was it not so long ago that he was with them, tirelessly holding onto his friends and his place in the pack, as fragile as it seemed at the time?
Taking a step forward, he hears the crunch before he sees it– Shit. He looks down, the snowdrop now twisted in a sickening angle. Neville is on one knee before he knows it, the flower in his hand and his wand out, “Sorry about that, dear.” He recalls a strengthening spell and pulls it forward, casting it on the flower and looking pleased when it’s bedraggled appearance diminishes marginally. “That’s a good girl.” Tilting it back against the other buds he takes a moment to appreciate it– though perhaps a moment too long when he realizes that there is someone above him, tumbling forward, tripping over his legs that had been haphazardly behind him.
“Merlin, are you alright?”

For my own style, I love vintage. 60’s and 70’s are my favorite. I love baby doll dresses and the soft colors. I try to mix a little bit of modern into that - maybe I’ll wear it with boots.
