Today I would like to discuss the change people are trying to make to the LGBT+ flag. I’m not sure how recent this is, I just saw it on my dash and had some thoughts about it.

DISCLAIMER: I do not mean any harm or disrespect to the people/things I may talk about. It’s purely my opinion and my opinion alone. Thank you.

So, apparently people are trying to change the flag from rainbow, to adding black and brown to include people of color.

Don’t get me wrong, I support POC people 1000000% and believe they deserve more recognition, but I don’t think this is necessary.

The whole point of the rainbow flag is to support and recognize the brave people of this wonderful community no matter race, culture, gender, etc. Color is also in that category. The rainbow flag recognizes EVERYONE, colored or not. So why change something to represent POC if it already does in its own unique way?

The rainbow flag is a beautiful way of including everyone. There is no need for a change.
