oh, this question is so good, I think this au truly envelopes the experience of living, the ups and downs, the different kind of people you meet, the situations they’re in, with undertones of magic and a question of what’s beyond

Not everything’s realistic in the au there’s vampires and living puppets but I still want it to feel slightly grounded, I don’t want the puppet world to be that different from our world.

it’s just as good and as bad as ours can be.

I do admit that I put alot of myself in this au and while I don’t think any situation is a direct parallel to anything that happened to me, I think characters issues and personality’s all come from me.

I should start with explaining their separate roles.

Colin is an early version of a robot computer designed for gated communities to help with patrolling at night, delivering mail, etc.

Colin fears losing his friends due to being a long lasting robot, so kinda like a more well-meaning Monika, he tries to trap them in his digital world so they can be friends forever.

Key escaped from the void seen in electricity after the original idea for the show that featured him was scrapped, hiding away in bushes, his goal is to take control of Clayhill like he did in the pilot.

What connects them is that they both want control people in very different ways, Key is malicious and Colin means well, but they are still trapping people unhappily.

I imagine Colin accidentally helps Key sneak into Clayhill and becomes his sidekick.
