So we're all in agreement that Jax was a cat before getting trapped in the digital circus and developing human like conciousness, right?

Since DELTARUNE TOMORROW I'd like to finally make a post that has been rounding my head since the release of Chapter 2.
We've all seen the tipical children's toy on the hospital. The one with the color pieces, marxing up and down, from one side to the other without stopping. And how, if you examine it at the end of a weird route, the blue piece has been torned off.
Obviously this an intentional reflection of what transpired. The blue piece is Berdly, and the toy at large is the game, or more acurately the narrative. It strongly relates to the temes of determinism Deltarune has, in this game everything has been set before hand, we have no real choice to shift the narrative beyond what has been established, the same way a given piece in the toy can only follow the path it has been set on, the only way out is to brute force it, and break the toy.
But what happens if you take out all the pieces? What is the point of a narrative that cannot happen to anyone? A story with no witnesses? No character arcs, no evolution to be had, what is the point of a beggining or an ending? The integrity of a story is dependant on things happening to characters, if you take them out, how do you advance?
Let's not see what happens in the future chapters as the organic actions and conclusions of the characters, but as the machinations of an eldrich script, what then, when we reach an inpass where Berdly has to come in... but he doesn't?
Will YOU simply move past it, continuing to brute force outside the narrative until its structure crumbles? Or will YOU try to fill in the blanks somehow?
Decisions in the narrative might not matter in Deltarune, as everything has been accounted for by Something, or Someone (Toby Fox, porbably). But what then of decisions about the narrative? Are they exempt of not mattering? Have they been acounted for?

Does anyone remember during Series 4, how along each episode there is a passing mention of a planet being missig or simila, and it all builds up to the big reveal on The Stolen Earth, with the return of Davros and his plan to kill all the universe except the Daleks. A story that also bring is many past companions, like Jack Harkness or Sara Janes Smith. That had emotional and tragic moments like the sacrifice of Harriet Jones. The whole two parter bulids into trying to stop the daleks, with a climax that no-one saw coming with Donna, with six people piloting the TARDIS and the subequent tragic farewells.
And now, after one season of teasing Ms.Flood, the unexpected return of The Rani, we get Wish Wold, which while admittedly a good premise is all setup and no substance, but things are promising: reality is tearing itself assunder, Omega is coming back, The Rani has seemingly won"! And then we get Reality War, where the main climax of the story is reached on the 40 min mark of a nearly 70 min episode. After a whole season of buildup, The Rani is defeated in less than a minute in the most indignified way, Ms.Flood leaves the scene, and Omega is but a silly afterthought. However we get Half an hour dedicated to Poppy (and bringing it back), a character we barely have any emotional attachement, or any sort or real plot importance.
They are not giving weight, or risk to the situation. They are not making good for these characters and their potentials. I wish is could say how to fix it, to make this a more constructive rant. But right now I can't.

ok but if bruce wayne somehow came upon zuko fresh out of banishment he would lose his mind.
black hair? check. bad parent(s)? check. trauma? double check.
bruce: how’d you get your scar?
zuko: my dad got mad at me for saying that killing people is wrong so he lit my face on fire and banished me.
bruce, vibrating with excitement, already pulling adoption papers from his utilility: that’s terrible. how do you feel about capes.
