awww, someoneâs a very disappointed substitute teacher. like a long term sub who took over when mrs jackson went on maternity leave for the semester. and heâs bonded with the class. and you all respect him, albeit a bit begrudgingly. which makes his disappointment all the harder to bear.
there are a lot of things about âyouâve got mailâ that make it the best romcom ever written, but i think that part of what is so compelling about it is the idea that you can be forgiven. that someone can see the mean, angry, sad, delusional side of you, and that part just becomes a piece of the whole. the whole, which is full of multitudes and possibilities and bravery to start something new. that whatever pride and prejudice youâre bringing to the tableâsomeone will see through it, right down to who you are when you think no one is looking.
the truth is u have to be vulnerable and expose yourself to the possibility of being hurt in order to find love and form meaningful connections there is no easy way out
