Evaluation
I am happy with my outcomes, for the first time since starting uni I made sure I let the project dictate how the work flowed rather than getting hung up on the little details and how it will look. I am glad I did this, the work I resulted is something I don’t think I would have made, I usually don’t use bright colours, I am also very content driven. I was very worried about my work, I never really thought it was 60 credits worth but as it developed in the last week I’m proud of how it turned out. I would have liked to have more time but in hindsight I think I needed the time to really develop a unique idea that can be interpreted in different ways. Time management was successful at the beginning but projects got rushed by the end, ISTD and Fundraising definitely made an impact on my time but I feel I am a well rounded student who can manage multiple projects at the same time. The rush at the end could have been avoided if I had made decisions more quickly, however these decisions were fundamental to my work and I wanted to be sure of them and my own decision making skills.
I thoroughly researched ways to create a catalogue but due to my unusual theme I needed to take things from lots of different works. My binding was a pivotal part to my work, blue coil spirals created the exact look I was looking for. Strong and industrial but also playful and accessible.
In the end I was happy with the outcome, this is a piece of work I would like to continue after hand in. Experiment with the check list aspect as well as going back to Ashley road and seeing what’s gone and what’s still there.
I’m sad that this evaluation is so bare but my process books sums up my thoughts towards the end.
I am hopeful this work reflects my care, my time and my dedication. In the future I will learn from these handins to deliver hard work within a timeframe by prioritising.

Choosing colours - electric blue case and citrine yellow back which looks great with the yellow from the road markings. The sheer white from the receipts lightens up the piece.
It could be seen as childish but with the added feature of the checklist the item becomes more of a catalogue with a function rather than a book that exists to just exist.

Latest mock up, showing the blue coils with holes made by uniprint as they fit much better! The catalogue includes all the items from each pavement. The receipt is in the centre coming out from the slit.

Double cover is definitely the most unusual and interesting way to seeing both roads but not giving either of them priority. This way, you can access both the roads without twisting and turning the book.

Blue bind on square holes - looks more catalogues but have to stretch the coil for it to fit

Visual experiments to see how the catalogue would open and how other aspects could be incorporated.

Other creative ways of communicating that the receipt’s items are litter pieces and trash.

Receipts layered with rubbish bags, keeping that strong connection that the items on the receipt are in fact rubbish.
