DWARF GULPER SHARK (Centrophorus atromarginatus)
A dogfish shark that lives at depths of up to 450 m. Ovoviviparous. Although little is known about its biology, it appears to be caught for its oil. Its fishing, whether accidental or intentional, has led to its critical endangerment.
This drawing is available on Wikimedia Commons, as well as on Instagram and DeviantArt. It's free to use; just don't forget to credit me as DOTkamina!
Additionally, I would greatly appreciate a follow, whether here, on Instagram, DeviantArt, or elsewhere. More information about this drawing (and the shark) on my blog.

An interesting and brief post about scopolamine and its properties in paralysis and numbness, and its relation with "resurrection drug" in the anime Kusuriya no Hitorigoto (The Apothecary Diaries). Even if you're not interested in this anime (I think you should watch it if you haven't already), you can still read this post, especially if you're interested in plant toxicology and biochemistry.
First time viewing my profile? I'd love to hear from you. You can also check out my other projects and follow me elsewhere (Instagram or Facebook, for example) on my personal website.

Illustration of the Argentine angelshark (Squatina argentina), a critically endangered benthic species measuring between 100 and 120 cm. It feeds on fish and some marine invertebrates. It is ovoviviparous, and 7 to 11 pups can hatch during birth.
More relevant information? Want to use only the final image, and not all of these sketches? Feel free to visit my personal blog. It's also uploaded to Wikimedia Commons! Please use it as you wish. Don't forget to credit me!

Are you available for commission?
Hello. I would mostly draw "neutral" drawings, in a more scientific or diagrammatic sense. I don't do "furry" things or anime, nor do I draw people. If you'd still like to draw something from me, I'd do it for free. The price would be to share my name as the author. If you know of any projects looking for wildlife illustrators, let me know!

A shark drawing I made, of Carcharhinus isodon.
I confess I feel more comfortable drawing this way than digitally, so I don't think I'll do a digital version. Well, it depends on my mood ;). I'll probably post more drawings like this. It's also uploaded to Wikimedia; you can use it as long as you give proper credit.
More details about the references I used for this drawing and information about this species? Read more here.

Da shark!
A simple drawing I did during class. It shouldn't have taken me too long, but the truth is I kept putting it off. It's my first drawing done entirely from scratch without using models or bases.

Killer yeasts
๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ๐๐ซ ๐ฒ๐๐๐ฌ๐ญ๐ฌ are able to attack other yeasts by releasing toxins that destroy their cells. There are several strains capable of this, including the typical brewer's yeast (๐๐ข๐ค๐ค๐ฉ๐ข๐ณ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐บ๐ค๐ฆ๐ด ๐ค๐ฆ๐ณ๐ฆ๐ท๐ช๐ด๐ช๐ข๐ฆ), with strains expressing the killer protein KHS. There is one species, ๐๐๐๐ฌ๐๐ฃ๐ฃ๐๐ค๐ข๐ฎ๐๐๐จ ๐ค๐๐๐๐๐๐ฃ๐ฉ๐๐ก๐๐จ ATCC 44252, that is able to kill other killer yeasts, such as ๐๐ข๐ค๐ค๐ฉ๐ข๐ณ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐บ๐ค๐ฆ๐ด ๐ค๐ฆ๐ณ๐ฆ๐ท๐ช๐ด๐ช๐ข๐ฆ K1 and K2, ๐๐ข๐ค๐ค๐ฉ๐ข๐ณ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐บ๐ค๐ฆ๐ด ๐ค๐ข๐ฑ๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ด๐ช๐ด K3 or ๐๐ข๐ฏ๐ด๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ถ๐ญ๐ข ๐ด๐ถ๐ฃ๐ฑ๐ฆ๐ญ๐ญ๐ช๐ค๐ถ๐ญ๐ฐ๐ด๐ข K5. The ๐. ๐ฐ๐ค๐ค๐ช๐ฅ๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ต๐ข๐ญ๐ช๐ด toxin appears to be a heterodimer that binds to mannoproteins in the cell membranes of other yeasts, destroying them and causing the leakage of cellular material, killing those organisms. This may be of interest to prevent the growth of contaminating yeasts or other fungi in the production of fermented foods.
