we really don't talk about the cain episode enough. insane of them to draw a parallel between cain's wife and cas what were they thinking there. he's like yeah i fell in love with colette because she loved me despite the curse, the only thing she ever asked of me was to stop. and then. that scene of cas on the floor of the bunker begging dean to stop as the curse takes over. like ok. alright. bonus points for dean's 'strange, mixed feelings' about crowley

thinking about insane canon shit that happened in supernatural and the number 1 “jesus fucking christ I can’t believe they did that” moment for me was them creating the fictional non biblical character colette, the love of cain’s life, so cas can be paralleled to her in dean’s trajectory with the mark

like cas is not dean’s colette, cas IS colette because colette doesn’t exist!!! at all!!! they made her up!!!

they chose not to add in a best friend for cain, instead the writers wrote in a lover they wrote in a lover who only ever asked cain to stop and then we get dean beating cas bloody and cas only ever asks dean to please just stop

Where Cas first sat at the side of the road and watched the misty sun rise on his tired human face, where he screwed up using a microwave and Sam rescued him, where he marvelled at the growth of facial hair and Dean chuckled and noogied his bristly cheek; a universe where he learned to swim, first scabbed his knee, learned what it’s like to cry at something fictional, and Charlie explained why; a universe where he went after Metatron without his grace, without a flock or an army, without anything except a trunk full of weapons and two smart little boys who grew up heroes.
