sometimes writing isn’t about talent. sometimes it’s about sitting in your chair and suffering for 45 minutes until a single sentence crawls out of your skull

God’s love is disruptive. It disrupts the things we think will save us but are actually destroying us.

Nothing hits like "romantic couple and a third guy who's not dating either of them but is definitely a part of this dynamic"

It’s not even funny how relatable this is.

Some time ago when I was re-reading Genesis I noticed some parallels in the stories of Jacob and his family and I jotted them down:
Rachel was beautiful in form and apperance (genesis 29:17)
Joseph was handsome in form and appearance (gen 39:6)
Joseph's brothers accused him of spying on them
Joseph "accuses" his brothers of spying on egypt
Cain had to give an accounting for Abel's blood
Reuben thought they had to give an accounting for Joseph's blood
Both Jacob and Rachel were in conflict with their respective older siblings
Jacob made his father bless him without his knowledge
Jacob demanded the Angel of the Lord Bless him
Jacob wrestled with God
Rachel said "With mighty wrestlings I have wrestled with my sister and have prevailed.” So she called his name Naphtali." (gen 30:8)
Both Esau and Rachel traded something of worth for mere food. In Esau's case his primogeniture for lentils, in Rachel's case relations with her husband for mandrakes. Rachel wanted mandrakes for fertility, but Leah became pregnant
Isaac was blind and the son he did not expect came to him for his blessing
Jacob could not see on his wedding night, and the wife he did not expect (Leah) was given to him
Jacob cheated his family members (i.e. Esau for primogeniture, Isaac for blessing, Laban for more sheep)
Jacob was cheated by family members (laban gave him leah first instead of rachel, rachel stole her father's idols, his children told him Joseph was dead when he was alive)
Joseph dreamt that the Sun, Moon, and 11 stars bowed down before him
The Woman in Revelation 12 is clothed in the sun, standing on the moon with a crown of 12 stars
#on bible studying#my reflections on reading Genesis mainly focused on God's faithfulness despite human sinfulness#and these are good observations OP#kind of inspired me to continue my bible reading streak so far and to also know God better through his Word

Some paintings with nice memories affiliated to them on twitter. Since twitter’s fate is unknown rn, i just wanted to say I had a really fun journey there. I’m truly thanksful for all the love I got there from many strangers who took a few sec out of their days to stop and look at my silly art haha. It greatly helped me like my art and myself, since honestly, both are linked. I also met so many people and made so many friends. I tried to find as much people back here as I could. Anyway. May we meet again guys. Thanks for the ride on twitter. ❤

Maybe humility is simply a willingness to be part of something bigger than oneself.

“Hear me, son. I loved you when you were born. I loved you when I wept in the Deeps of Throg. I loved you even as you sang the song that broke you. And I love you now in the glory of your humility.”
