only moments she had felt at peace is when she was home at her own apartment , the quietness and half eaten tub of ice cream sitting beside her — dark bedroom lightly diming as laptop screen wakes up . her favorite sound to hear , the sound of a new message ; in which she moves from position to a new one , dainty digits already moving to type out a ‘ it wasn’t the best , very boring without hearing from you . ’ hitting send before typing another time ‘ what’s wrong ? maybe i can make it better . ’ anxiously hitting send and waiting for his response .

attempts to offer a smile but pain he gets when he shifts to remove his shirt causes a sound of discomfort to come instead . “ well i’m glad someone knows what they’re doing . ” comments once settled comfortably , watching her carefully . “ some family stuff . ” speaks as if it’s normal for family to be so brutal .

eva  nods  and  retrieves  the  first-aid  kit  before  returning  to  sit  next  to  him.  "don't  worry  —  my  brother  used  to  be  a  huge  klutz,  so  i'm  used  to  this."  she  reassures  him  with  a  faint  smile.  she  tries  to  suppress  a  frown  as  she  assesses  the  extent  of  his  injuries  before  she  sanitises  her  hands  and  retrieves  a  gauze  from  the  kit.  "what  happened  to  you?"

“ i’m glad you would , ” another kiss to the back of her hand and another love struck glance in her direction as he leans to place one to cheek . “ i’m nice sometimes . ” offering a playful wink .

" well, i'd like that ... " why did her insides become all warm and fuzzy when he offered to help. the church meant everything to her. teeth sunk into her bottom lip, containing her smile. " oh, how nice of you. " she teased while buckling her seatbelt.

almost thankful for waitress , danity digits reaching for own glass . “ funny everyone says that . . . they never take the time to actually try and do it though . ” words drip with bitterness though she means no harm , head nodding in response to question before moving glass to lips , peering at him over the rim .

waitress came by, offering them champagne on a tray. he took one, clearly needing the buzz if she was going to act stubborn. " luckily i don't ... " they might be in the same world, but not in the same circles. " honey — isn't it? " eyebrow raised at the question.

“ it’s something aiden , and no i won’t forget it . ” another night her mind would be wondering what’s been happening in his mind , own soft sigh passing lips as she moves to sit closer to him as head had leaned to rest head against his shoulder . “ you promised you’d always tell me what was wrong , don’t break it now , please . ”
