Assignment 5: Claudia, Frank, Shruti
Tumblr media
Concept Overview
We focus on promoting interactions between visitors in the MOTF. Our concept is to design a wrist band and some secret areas in the exhibitions. Visitors need to find other people from different countries to unlock secret areas by tapping wrist bands against each other. The number of people visitors need to unlock secret areas depends on different levels. There will be extra interactive experiences for visitors to explore together in secret areas.
Dubai is an international city. In MOTF, there will be visitors from various countries. Through our interviews, we learn that Dubai is a place where they can see how humans created a miracle of modern civilization in the desert, and how people from different countries are shaping the future of this international city together.
We believe MOTF can also deliver the core value of Dubai to its visitors. As a result, In MOTF, we want to use RFID technology to build a connection between visitors from different countries and culture so that they can collaborate to explore the virtual future of Dubai together. After visiting MOTF, visitors not only can experience the future, but also deeply understand the core value of Dubai.

Assignment 4: Claudia, Frank, Shruti
Muture, a combination between museum and the future, is the name of our concept. For visitors to become aware of the museum, we have outlined 7 main channels:
Before even buying tickets
1. Transportation ads: includes investing in publicity across international subways, buses.
2. Digital ads: digital presence of the museum on social media platforms, through the use of ads and influencers (celebrities)
After buying tickets, while planning trip
1. WhatsApp groups: word-of-mouth
2. Inflight publicity: increase the desire of prospects through videos (Emirates) and details on magazines (Emirates & other airlines).
3. Meetup: in-person events planning.
Once in Dubai
1. Provide trial stations across the city: allow prospects to have a hint of what the museum is about.
For this assignment, we built upon our last week’s 2 concepts. For the first concept, which is non-linear, visitors will enter in the museum with the visitor tag that can personalize their experience. This allows them to go wherever they feel like or whatever attracts them. There are a lot of stuff visitors can do - simulator games, explore futuristic products - flying cars etc.
Our personas are tourists, kids and staff. The co-building activities will be a collaborative room that helps visitors to create something together.
Tumblr media
A significant experience occurs at the beginning of the visitor’s journey, as they enter the Briefing exhibit. Playing over three walls of the space in surround sound, the three-minute film immerses visitors in the world of espionage and introduces them to the experience to come.
Tumblr media
Projected on screens on either side of the ride vehicle, Fast & Furious Supercharged, like its sibling Skull Island: Reign of Kong, throws more visual detail than you possibly could take in with just one ride through the attraction.
Fog and Wind effects to help simulate the rush of driving.
Guns blare, cars flip, missile-armed drones fly in, and the effect of G-forces on the human body takes some time off to enjoy the spectacle with the rest of us.
Tumblr media
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Trackless Dark Ride at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World Florida.
The favorite Star Wars characters
Technology used: The vehicles are trackless, hold eight riders and are driven by an R5 droid. Some special effects technology, the projection, the ride systems.
Tumblr media
The second concept is linear, and the first step is to create the visitors’ profiles in the museum. At this stage, the visitor will receive their identity band, which can be used to log in at each station, keep track of their points and achievements, as well as show the persona they will become and information collected through the exhibition.
Tumblr media
After this, visitors will enter a big elevator that will display video about the museum and the futuristic technologies developed. The elevator will lead them to the top floor, where the exhibition starts.
Technology used: RFID and projecting bracelet
Tumblr media
Once the video is over, visitors will exit to a changing room, where they can become an important figure in Dubai by choosing a traditional garment. The staff will provide a set of titles/positions with outfits for visitors to choose. This invites the visitors to submerge into a new persona and introduces the museum’s experience.
Tumblr media
Then, visitors will be walk into the storytelling section with challenges. Here, they will try to discover who their character is/was and collect items that represent their character.
Technology used: VR/AR
Tumblr media
The next section brings collaboration challenges, where visitors need to find who is part of their team depending on their character’s plot. For example if you are part of a famous band you have to find your group members and finish the activity together to earn extra points.  The activity is that the space maps each visitor’s color and they need their partner’s color to fulfill the painting.
Technology used: Sensor
Tumblr media
The following section is the highlight of this experience: the ride simulator. Here we will have separate chambers where, if both visitors/characters have something in common and scanned their bands here, they will see and hear each other and participate in the same storyline.  Technology used: AR/VR, Ride simulator, Voice recognition
Tumblr media
Lastly, visitors will go through a decision-making game where they will be able to change the storyline based on the decisions they make.  Technology used: AR/VR (more immersive) and voice recognition.
Option 2: Almost like Minecraft, it’s a space where they can create their own future, anduse any type of technology.
 Technology used: interactive tables.
Tumblr media
After this, visitors will return the traditional garments and/or pick up their bags. Then they will stop by the store and exchange their points for a souvenir. They will be able to replay their storylines they built through the band as a memory.
