Tim can deny it all he wants, but Lucy's already so much more than his partner. No one knows him the way she does… And vice-versa. This is more than mere shorthands, routines or being in-tune with each other : they're each other's person and it was so blatant during their double date that I still can't believe that Ashley and Chris stayed.

If there's one thing that this scene has highlighted is how compatible Tim and Lucy are. And not just on the job. They spent the whole night in their own bubble, like they were all alone - to the point that Tim looked put-off when Chris reminded them he was there too. Now to be fair, Lucy was genuinely trying to be interested in her date at first. She was smiling at him and engaging him. But it didn't last long. All it took was Tim trying to get her attention and their natural chemistry took over. Their dynamic was so similar to what we usually see, only on a whole new level. Their bickering, teasing with the embarrassing stories and flirting… The dichotomy between Tim's grumpiness and incredulity vs Lucy's cute reactions at seeing the different dishes… The familiarity too, with them finishing each other's sentences, Lucy knowing his taste and picking his food right from his plate as if it was a regular occurrence or how she wasn't phased one bit by his criticisms… None of this was really that surprising.

What was different was how much more relaxed they were, especially Tim. Lucy was her bubbly and curious self, but he was so enthusiastic when he was retelling the story of Gerald the goat, being all smiley and laughing easily about a story that wasn't even recent. He was almost carefree. Despite being out of his comfort zone. And that was exactly why he jumped at the opportunity to invite Lucy. Just like he invited her to help him and his sister fix their childhood home. He may still be in denial or out of touch with his feelings for her but there's one thing he knows for sure : Lucy is his person. The one he is the freest around, who understands him like no other. The person around whom he can drop his guard, fully let go and be himself with all his idiosyncrasies without the fear of being judged. She's the one he feels comfortable with, so he automatically gravitates towards her. There was no pretending, no trying to make himself more palatable during the dinner date because he never had to mask his feelings and opinions with her.

And the irony is that it was actually the closest Ashley got to see the real Tim. I honestly don't blame her for being put-off by his behaviour : she was a complete afterthought. But it is telling that after this double date, Tim will do a complete 180 and hide most of his personality behind a facade, agreeing to do the things she wants to do, regardless of his opinion on the matter or how out of character it is for him...

Before each confession, Chris and Jim ask à single question. Just a few words. But not one of them was told randomly.

Chris knows for sure what Jim is about to confess after he tells him he spent the last three days "tossing and turning in his sleep". At least, she has huge doubts about it.

When Jim asks Chris what she wants to say when she told him "It is her problem" because "he's her problem", he is almost sure of what she wants to tell him.

The looks on their faces at this precise moment is the same.

A mix of certitude, fear, surprise and admiration for the other.

They want to know, they are almost sure of what they are about to hear but they are still scared the other could not feel the same.

This is this feeling of certain uncertainty which defines Stris the most. Despite all they've been through, they still fear the other doesn't feel the same way when they are more dedicated to each other than anyone else.

Now that the feelings are clear, they, ill have to learn how to deal with them, to cultivate them, to make them grow, blossom and shine.

But no worry about this, it shouldn't be a problem 😏😏😏

Chris and Jim's relationship is built in parallel.. One Day or another you find the matching moment on old scenes and last Street and Chris convo in 417 is a clear reference to the 303 convo.

In 303, Molly asks Chris if Jim is single because she is his Best friend. She meets Street in the locker room and asks him about his love life.

He does the same. At the time, she is in an "algebra" relationship with Ty and Kyra and she is "content" Of her situation.

He has given up on dating apps because "he has said so many versions of his life" and "he doesnt know who he is anymore".

"Fake finds fake"

The two are drifting apart : she believes she's happy in her throuple, he wants to move from her as she told him earlier they can't be Friends anymore.

At this moment he left the locker room head down.

In 417, Chris runs after Jim to apologize.. She totally screwed up going and threatening his mom. She's Sorry and wants him to know.

Except when he told her he's a match and is gonna give a part of his liver to his mom, she 's mad. She forget about apologies and lets her heart talking instead.

She can't handle him putting his life in danger for a mom who's manipulating him. She has no other choice than to reveal her feelings.

This time when Jim leaves the locker room he's loudly looking at her.

They are not separated anymore.
