Might be just a late-night musing but I'm really missing Kaido and all of his drunken antics... Maybe I'll activate him after getting done with sumn I owe on the sibs.

The boy put up a good fight for his part. But in the end, all that squirming and crying out for his sister lead to nothing and the poor child was carried away like a misbehaving sack of potatoes. Nothing compared to the way the girl struggled though, her tiny nails managed to prick his skin and cause him to grit his teeth slightly.

"Why do you fight so hard? I'm not going to do anything to the brat that I wouldn't do to new recruits."

Well, maybe not entirely true. If he treated them like full grown adults he was sure they wouldn't survive even a short trip to the nearest island. Lifting the girl with ease, he repositions his hand away from her head to instead hold her up by the collar high enough to where he can look her in the eyes.

"Where are your parents anyways? They don't give enough of a shit that their kids are being abducted by pirates?" It'd give him even more reason to take them away from this shithole, not wanting to see such power go to waste that was ancient and rare enough as is in terms of zoan fruits. He can use more of that in his crew even if the boy came as a bonus, he'd find a fruit for him too if he wasn't a user already.

“AH!” Ulti couldn’t help the yelped when her head was grabbed, hands coming up to claw at him. “LET ME GO!” She hated being grabbed, hated being touched by anyone other than her brother. To many times she had seen what happened when women were grabbed by men that weren’t related to them, she knew all possible outcomes of a touch.

Then Page One was grabbed and her mind went blank.

“lethimgolethimgolethimgo” Her voice was on repeat, nails dragging in the other’s skin as she tried to get away from him. Page was her brother, it was her responsibility to protect him and currently she was failing. The other’s orders to his men fell deaf on her ears and all she could think was how delicate her brother was. Neither of them were very healthy thanks to the area they lived in, but he was younger so he was more delicate.

She had never been in a position where she couldn’t protect him, and now she was being held still just by one hand. Ulti was panicking now and doing her hardest to get away from his grip.

The burly biker was barely paying heed to whatever the mechanic was telling him after the kerfuffle he'd just stopped within the bar. He was torn between watching over his men, the swill in his hand, and the words streaming from Ikkaku's lips all in that order. He does perk up when he is handed the business card though and at the two names mentioned. So, she knew Newgate huh? And why did Buranku stand out to him?

"You are a very interesting woman. Didn't know a gal like you knew a man as infamous as Whitebeard." He takes the card between two of his calloused fingers, giving it a passing glance before tucking it away somewhere in an inner pocket of his leather jacket.

Before he could inquire about the mechanics old geezer, Kaido was snapped out of his reverie by the sound of gun shots just outside the bar. Clearly one of the gang members had a pride much too frail to bruise and wanted blood as recompense. A shame for him then that his motley crew was chock full of devil fruit powers and weren't afraid to use them.

"OI! Didn't I just say to behave? That applies to you too, you pieces of shit!" Under the dim lighting of the bar, scales could be seen creeping up over Kaido's features as with a grunt, he leaves the bar to attend to matters outside but not before shooting a lingering glance back with an unreadable expression on his face. he cared not for what happened to the woman yes, but seeing as it would be a shame to lose out on someone that wasn't outright scared shitless of him, he'd make sure any further destruction was limited to outside the establishment.

Kaido might have been a violent, dangerous menace that put her boss in the hospital and wrecked VP Garage so badly it was going to be shut down for repairs for several months, but as a gearhead, it was hard for Ikkaku to be fully mad at him when he so clearly cared about his motorcycle. The mechanic's face brightened when he talked about how good the engine now sounded thanks to her work. Her cheeks even turned a faint but pleased pink at the acknowledgment of her skill.

"Glad she's running so smooth. She's a beautiful bike and deserves all the love in the world," she stated with a grin, managing to dodge a flying ashtray. The floor was already covered in broken glass, the crunch under her feet worrisome and a reminder that this biker was even worse news than the average Hells Angel. It was absolutely for the best that the conversation was staying light and he appreciated her work - Ikkaku wanted to leave the bar with minimal injuries.

At least Kaido seemed to be focusing his annoyance on his men and the other gang they were beating up. More importantly, he shut down the worst of the fighting, though it wouldn't surprise her if things got rowdy again. Ikkaku's gut twisted a bit when a few of the men gave her a leer when Kaido referred to her as one of the "prettier patrons" but she doubted any would approach so long as she was on good terms with their boss. So best to stay that way.

Plus, the bar's owner was going to be busy for a while serving the gang that was looking to stick around for a while, and she didn't want to head out into the night alone just yet. Not when there was another gang outside licking their wounds. Best to wait until everyone had cleared out. Plus the owner would likely need some help cleaning up the mess anyway.

For now, Ikkaku decided this conversation was a good way to keep things friendly with Kaido. "My Gramps always said I've got a gift, but one I worked hard to perfect. He taught me everything he knows about engines, and he got me all the tools, manuals, and old cars he could get his hands on so I could keep getting better. He even convinced some old associates of his to let me work on their cars. Not that they regretted it - Uncle Newgate even offered me a job as his personal mechanic, but I wanted to get a job on my own merits and not just because he's an old friend of Gramps."

Realizing she was rambling, she switched gears and pulled out a business card. On it was a cell phone number she used only for clients, along with Buranku Ikkaku - Mechanic printed neatly across the yellow cardstock. "Hopefully your girl won't need a tune-up for a while, but if you do, here's my business number. Though, uh, we'll have to work on it somewhere other than VP Garage."

With how big the giants are in the latest chapters... I can see some of them turning Kaido into a balloon animal.

Kaido could see it in the young girl's eyes, so filled with rage that she could think of little else besides protect her brother from a dangerous man and to hit him where it would hurt the most that was within her reach. He read it all like it was a flipbook moving in slow motion. Not wanting to sacrifice his manhood just to prove a point, Kaido blocked her attack with the palm of his hand. His fingers easily closed around the girls hardened skull keeping her in place while he whistled for some of his men to act.

"If I was anyone else this might've worked out in your favor little girl... It's too damn bad you're dealing with me and not some pathetic chump ain't it?"

The boy in the meantime panicked, getting up to flee the scene only to be scooped up by one of his men with ease. Noting how tight the kid was being held, Kaido glared slightly and chastised the subordinate.

"Hey, don't go breaking the kid's bones. Take him back to the ship and make sure somebodies watching him, we don't want to be known as the crew that let one measly kid escape eh?"

Ulti stood firmer as he spoke, shifting to block her brother from being seen by the stranger. She didn’t like how he was taunting her and how it was working. She knew she was a hothead and both her mother and Page One constantly got on her case about how easily it was to provoke her into a fight. As he continued to taunt her she felt her face flushing, through in her half form it was harder to tell. “If you don’t fuck off and leave us alone I’ll kick your ass!” She growled, using her fruits voice to make herself sound stronger.

When he brought her brother into the talk she growled deeper, stomping her feet slightly to redirect his attention on her. “You’re dealing with me. Leave my brother the fuck alone.” Ulti made sure she was firmly in place in front of Page One, refusing to let this fucker even look at him. “If you don’t fuck off I’m gonna show you more than a fucking bite.” Did she think he’d honestly leave them alone if she fought against him? Ulti didn’t know, but Page One could run while she distracted him, and that would be good enough.

Talk was long enough. Gathering her strength Ulti huffed and decided to go with her initial plan, and with a yell she launched her hard head right towards his most vulnerable parts. Lucky all men had the same parts.

Kaido's lip trembles a moment longer with unshed tears before his mood entirely changes. Intruders in his land of Wano? As an emperor of the seas Kaido could not allow such trespass to continue even if in the end it happened to be only hearsay. He could not stand the sort of disrespect that would be sown should there be no consequences.

"If that's the case then you should've told me before you left. Did our men happen to give any important details?"

Setting aside his drunkenness for now, azure scales began to sprout along Kaido's forearms and upper body. Taking flight as a dragon should give him an even greater field of view even if he knew Alber would already be assisting on that front. He would make his presence felt to whomever it was disrupting the peace of his tyranny; it was his territory after all and so he would not be stealthy about this in the least.

"How about this then King, we both take to the skies and smoke out these rats. Even if it turns out to be civil unrest, the people of Wano could always use a reminder not to test us."

King had been looking into rumored sightings in the area of intruders, it had not occurred to him that his captain would awaken and come to look for him in turn. When he heard the sounds of destruction in the distance he had given up his patrol with a heavy sigh.

He took to the skies, flying far faster than usual, knowing that it was best to mitigate any damage that the emperor could inflict. The last thing they needed was too much damage, for they still had use of the people of Wano.

When the man had responded to his words by shouting the name he had given him, and running towards him, the Lunarian was not surprised. Nor was he surprised by the tears that were streaming down Kaido's face.

"I was looking into some sightings that if true may prove troublesome." A sharp exhale of air left him before he continued, knowing that he was likely not going to be able to continue unless the drunk pirate came with him. "How about you help me scout them out? Two sets of eyes are better than one."

it feels as though you have fought every day of your life. sometimes, you cannot even tell how much of the blood on your hands is your own... and how much comes from those who've tried to hurt those you defend. you deserve the gentleness of a kiss to your bruised knuckles and broken skin, a reminder that you are not only made of violence.

Thrilled to be able to post my work for @opchartingstars, it was an honor and a privilege to be able to work alongside such an incredible set of artists.

The bathing process was as excruciating as he thought it would be, not that he considered he'd be bathed in the first place given how he knew slaves were typically treated by the dragons. He hadn't been sedated then, but he was crudely manhandled with multiple hands tugging him this way and that, his muzzle replaced only by a sturdy bit in his mouth so that it made cleaning his face easier.

After they scrubbed his flesh a raw pink, his muzzle was carefully put back in place and his new set of clothing put on. The process took longer than necessary what with his struggling and snarling, but unfortunately the inevitable would come when he was deemed fit to be presented to his new master.

Given the first opportunity, he'd sooner roll over top of the boy to crush him than obey whatever demand came out of his mouth. His fantasies of explicit violence seemed to be easily read by the kid's other guests because soon he was held tight by slaves large enough to handle his movements that would threaten to crush anyone else near him. The relief on those smaller slaves' faces was nearly palpable as they stepped back and allowed firmer hands to take over.

If he hadn't been so incensed this entire time, Kaido would laugh at the sheer scale of the needle being hefted over to him. Liquids within the syringe bubbled ominously as it was passed along to one of the massive guards near by.

"Make sure the beast takes all of it, if it so much as flinches and ruins the process... Well, you know what's on the line." One of the individuals spoke, the woman based on the icy no-nonsense tone she used.

There is no protesting from the stone-faced slave as he edges closer, the arms holding Kaido down gripping tighter to prevent any sharp movement even as a wild glare was shot to all involved. And, unable to do anything about it, the needle was soon forced through his tough skin and the contents injected in full.

The effect is almost immediate, the sedative being one of a powerful type and so Kaido's eyes turn to an almost half-lidded docile stare as his awareness now seemed to dance on a fragile edge.

"There, now he is all yours to deal with as you like."

In the time it takes for his new body to be delivered Luffy is happy to look over the chef's offered menu and like usual orders one of everything. Unlike other dragon's Luffy never wastes a chance to eat. “Make it a double!” Voice calls after the retreating maid who makes a show of bowling again before scurrying off. Luffy doesn't partially think of himself as generous or kinder than the average dragon but slaves in his employ never go without a decent meal. The more energy they had the better they worked, the more muscle his brutes put on and in a roundabout way the more content his subjects were compared to other dragon's collections. So, it stands to reason this new big slave would have a big appetite as well.

When Kaido arrives he's promptly ushered into the bath, sprayed and scrubbed by small hands to rid the stink of battle from his flesh. Fleets of guards flank the beast with hands on chains to prevent another incident or worse the celestial’s dwelling being damaged. It takes six slaves and nearly half an hour for the water to run clear and unruly hair to heel to a comb before it's mostized and left to air dry. Kaido is then dressed in a simple toga around his waist and led out to join Luffy.

Another set of guards trade positions, these strangely closer to Kaido's size, the tell-tell heavy collar marking them as slaves. When they reach the lounging dragon he has two unwelcome guest lecturing him.

“Yes, I understand your holiness but the elders outrank you. I am just a messenger and their word is final.” A woman sits at the large banquet table on Luffy's left, a thin man to her left with a black leather bag in his lap.

“Waaah, they aren't even giving me a say this time?” Cheeks puff up as he grumbles. “None of the other's they were worried about needed a tranquilizer.”

“Yes, they wisely mentioned that but this … beast,” her smiling lips flash in a snarl. “Is far more dangerous than your run of the mill roughian. The man power to keep him subdued, let alone doscial is massive. The elders believe this is a fair concession to not simply taking him away.”

Luffy sinks further in his shoulders, the brief delight he feels seeing the freshly cleaned dragon snuffed out. “Fine whatever.” Dismissive waves signals his defeat. “Just don't give him so much, I don't want him sleeping all day.”

"What a foul-mouthed little brat you are..." This girl certainly was not raised the way society typically expects of the fairer sex. Traits like that could serve her well as much as endanger her in the wrong circumstance.

"You gonna attack me is that it?" He taunts, tapping his club against his shoulder. He would not raise it to assault her even once knowing that if he did, he wouldn't be bringing back a new crewmate and instead leaving a bloody mess for traumatized townsfolk to clean up.

"I'd like to see you give it your best shot. You seem to care for that sniveling little welp behind you... It would be a shame if something were to happen to him."

Kaido leers over them both, a menacing grin growing along with the impromptu plan in his head. The duo looked inseparable, perhaps he could work with that, he only needed to goad her a bit more.

"How about it little girl? You show me your bite is as bad as your bark, and I'll leave the two of you be." Lies. As is the nature of pirates.

Ulti stood her ground, standing in front of her little brother as she glared up at the strange man. He just showed up out of nowhere and started questioning them about their devil fruits and if they were going to join his crew. She didn’t like how he just came over to talk to them, Ulti had worked hard to build a reputation that acted as a wall of protection for her and her brother. Tightening her hands into fists she planted her feet and half shifted, wanting to make herself bigger.

“Do you just pick any fucking kid?” Ulti was already foul mouthed despite her youth. Standing taller now she felt more confident in her glare, and if all else failed she could just headbutt him in the balls and run off with her brother. There was a very dangerous aura coming off of him, but she ignored that because she knew she was more dangerous than he was. “Fuck off with that shit, we’ve got no reason to join you!”

Their mother would be beside herself if she could see her daughter trying to go toe to toe with this huge man. “I don’t fucking know or care who you are! Whoever you are isn’t any reason to come and mess with me and my brother!”

"KIIIIIIIIIIIIING!!!" A bellow rings out through what used to be a small town on the outskirts of Wano. It would appear that Kaido had gone on another rampage filled binge, though luckily this time it hadn't come with too much collateral damage if he began at the capitol.

The ground rumbles as though threatening to crumble under the force of an earthquake. The trembling earth follows Kaido as he barrels towards his right-hand man before managing to stop himself on a dime just before colliding with an uncanny sense of control despite his wasted state.

Tears streamed down the drunk emperor's face, as he leans heavily upon his kanabo for balance.

"I missed you... You didn't tell me where you went so, I decided to check up on you..."

"If that's what you want to do... I won't interfere." He hiccups at the end of his sentence, the alcohol finally taking hold. The other beast pirates privileged enough to party with Kaido himself let alone any of the Tobiroppo had gotten a bit rowdy and perhaps too comfortable around their superiors.

It was still below what Kaido would consider an incident he'd involve himself in though, but he could see that their antics was beginning to bother Page One and when he was bothered, he was sure Ulti was soon to follow.

"Maybe it'll teach em' a lesson or two. Bet it won't stick in a week if any one of em' gets brain damage."

"Eh?!"

In Kaido's opinion, he was being polite to this girl. Who didn't want to join a crew of similar ability to the ones she possessed? He could just abduct her and her brother and force the issue if he wanted but he was sober and wanted to give her a chance. Though with that attitude, the idea of capture was looking increasingly appealing.

"You have some brass balls to be saying that to me girl... Do you even know who I am?"

Tapping his kanabo over his shoulder he grunts, disregarding his surroundings and any witnessing the scene. Nobody would dare step in, not when there was an ex-member of the Rocks pirates on the loose.

"I like that about new recruits though, so I'll ask again. Do you want to join my crew or not?"
