ppl have been applying oils and butters to their skin to keep it from drying out for like all of human civilization. it’s an adaptation we developed to protect our skin. there is a pretty broad line btwn “pls retain the moisture in your skin bc it requires moisture to remain flexible and strong” and “pls make sure you use this serum and toner every night because other wise you will look like an ugly troll”
