Bro, we are cooked. The knight that dogs the prince's shadow like a dark and silent wraith just knelt to press his forehead to the prince's hand. Yeah, now he's uttering a prayer whose recipient is ostensibly God but in reality is the deified version of the prince that exists only in his mind. Aaand the prince just caressed his cheek to preemptively grant him absolution. I gotta... I gotta get out of here.

thinking about how Adam shooting Noah and Marta both represent his descent into utter nihilism. This is most obvious in his shooting of Marta — he literally says something about having moved past caring about her — but I think it can be read in to his killing Noah as well. It’s framed initially like he’s dispatching a disobedient servant, maybe even as retaliation for Noah trying to kill him, but it’s later revealed that 1) Adam knew he wasn’t in real danger there and 2) Noah has a more complex relationship with Adam/jonas than “disobedient servant” could ever encompass. It’s really the final moving on for Adam from even pretending that he’s seeking life or reconciliation; he kills the one who did it all for him and the one who he was doing it all for. All that’s left is seeking the end of all things; utter meaninglessness; he’s really back there in that attic with the rope around his neck, but now he’s taking everyone down with him, and first he needs to make sure there’s no Noah to save him and no Marta to live for. What a deeply tragic character arc.
#I may have something to add to this later but for now. yeah#all that time Adam spends talking about how man’s inability to overcome his emotions is a great weakness that drives them to the same end…#like my dude you are doing all of this stuff out of strong emotion. you are nothing BUT unmastered desire. you just have Knowledge of stuff#and not even ultimate knowledge at that. so surely he couldn’t possibly know that love is such a strong driving salvation force.#or at least he didn’t seem to realize that killing until nothing was left was NOT the solution until suddenly no solution appeared#like his utter surprise at the loop not unraveling at the lightning vortex was comical. but deeply sad. that guy NEEDED the noose#he needed that oblivion because at that point there was nothing left. but that was never the answer. he was never going to get paradise—#—by not caring about people. so as much as that makes Adam a villain… he was always a victim too. at least a little bit.#and at the end of the day… when love is that force that drives people so strongly onward… pain is part of it yeah. but that’s the deal.#loss happens when you love. and love is worth the loss.#sorry to throw these tags on your post I love the nihilism talk and the Martha/Noah comparisons <3#dark

We was never gonna be free. We’ve been running around everywhere looking for freedom. You know damn well you was never gonna find it. Until this. This is the way. Together. Forever. Au where Lawrence died years ago and he's a ghost and doesn't realize it because he's so absorbed with his work and everyone else is just like yeah that's the resident Vatican ghost. Don't tell him he's dead we did that a couple of years ago and a window exploded

My favourite thing is when a character has a ‘can’t act’ trait and you get to watch a good actor have to pretend to be a terrible actor
#every time a member of the mighty nein attempted to impersonate one another#was a lesson in voice actors doing the funniest possible example of this
